@boberto0828 you get all gold weapons, by all I mean Hammerburst, Lancer, Sawed off shotgun, Gnasher, Retro Lancer. You have to have the veteran gear achievement so you have to have played a match in each of the snow-blind maps or something like that and reach rank 100.
@boberto0828 Proberly just another achievement. Seriously 3.0 is for getting Rank 100, 10,000 kills and completing campain on Insane if my sources are right ;)
must add that I've had the game since day one. I'm not the greatest player in the world plus being a dad of 3 doesnt really give me chance to get better. But still hopefully rank 100 will be mine before Gears 3 :)
The ranking system was great up until about 4 months ago. When you got into a match you could pretty much tell who the good and bad players were. 70% of the high ranking players played to thier ranks capabilities. Now, with 60% of the gears community being rank 75 or over I would say that number has been reduced dramatically.
@Chrisjb1983 true... I liked the old rank system... It told how horrible the players skill was :p. I was up to the LAST rank... and the updated rank system dropped me to a level 1... and lost ALL achievements...
@AndysTech yeh i think they will sort it out (well i hope) from the beginning of Gears 3 because they started Gears 2 with a different ranking system so people would have got 100 a lot quicker if they had this system from the start.

I like the ranking system on Gears 2. I'm currently rank 86 and hoping to get my wing with the 30x xp event this week.
Like someone else posted though, it almost seems worthless as there are some many glitchers that have ruined it for everyone :(.

Well done, I got mine back on 20X xp.
Shame it seems so worthless now, glitchers had to ruine it.
