That isnt RR 13's... in fact thats the 45-49 Battlegrounds and the cap there is RR4L9 I believe. Anyway, good music though, and nice battle video, but you don't have to label it RR13, daoc fans just like browsing the vids for memories, and maybe see somethings they never got to do. I was wondering how u have 2 rr13's in Cathal Valley which boots you out at 5l0 :) True if the vamp would've used claw.. It would have been over. I've seen rr5 vamps kill rr11's in duels using minimal claw as well.. It just depends on the how well the player know's his toons abilities and when to use them.

To say there is no skill involved with WoW just says that you've never played very far into it, and learned how to play it well.

I can't say anything about DAoC since I haven't played it, but the gameplay looks rather clunky from what I can see in this video. I understand it's an old game, so I can't bash on it too hard... it just looks to slow for me.. I don't mind long, slow fights, those are usually the most fun. I'd suggest watching 2 skilled players in WoW duel before bashing on it.

i have played WoW for about 2 years.. i have a 80 pally.. i wouldnt bash if i havent played. its a pve game. the 4 battle grounds that people actually go to are flag vs flag, and how many times can u do that.. Arena is actually fun i must admit.. but enless you have a amazing premade arena and your all fully pvp resil geared your fucked might as well not try.. sure you have more players but that doesnt mean you are the better game.

let's just say... WoW's got a wonderful PvE Content, but its PvP sucks, Daoc's got ...yeah...an average PvE content but the best PvP (RvR) Content ive seen so far. and in my opinion, PvP is what a MMORPG is made for :)

WoW being a pop MMO means the ratio of skilled to unskilled is heavily favoured to unskilled, and gear matters a lot in fights in WoW and not so much in DAoC.

I'm not saying there aren't unskilled players in WoW.. hell EVERY game has unskilled players. But as I was saying before, skill can outweigh gear. As an example, I have a 78 druid wearing decent gear for his level, mostly blues, a couple greens and NO epics. I dueled an 80 warrior. Around half of his gear was level 80 epic items, namely his weapon. He was arms spec so he could do a lot of damage with said weapon. Well, in the end, I beat him. A fight like that comes down to skill.

But would you say he was an vet, but slightly less skilled than you, or was there a mighty gulf in skill? Also, good gear is fairly easy to come by in DAoC. Farm auru in that little instance in Koalinth Caverns (For hibs) and buy a 49 auru set for 35-39 bg, then do your epic quest or farm at Cave of Cruachon to get golds to buy labyrinth set.

For ToA people, you can do basic RvR and get artis with bp..

Only really hard to get stuff is full dragon and SC gear.

I won't argue that it takes less skill to be good at WoW than it used to... but the flaw in your statement is that I cant NOT play it at release as that was years ago. I would have liked to play in the vanilla days, but it's not ALL facerolling.

As an example, and just a small, single example.. As a feral druid, I can't just run in and roll my face over the keyboard.. I have to set up debuffs to pump the damage of my big attacks, such as mangle, rake, savage roar, faerie fire, and so-on.

They do NOT, however, know how to handle certain situations that come up in pvp. They know nothing about setting talents to match their play style, nor how to use some abilities that can counter an oncoming attack, or abilities used to setup stronger attacks... and for strategy, again, that falls under skill.. planning out the fight several steps in advance can turn the fight into your own favor.. as well as applying strategy to battlegrounds, like communicating for 1 group to defend something.

WoW is fast paced, so the fights can often end quickly.. but to say it's all about gear, or that twinks are the only ones who win is false. In the beginning twinks have the upper hand, true.. but if you take someone who bought their account that has 10 level 80's all in the best gear the game has to offer, sure they will do more damage and can end fights quickly, but they just know to push buttons and do tons of damage..

WoW has actual world PvP.

Mauler was new at that time, i didnt know what the hell to press so i was spam clicking, yes it has the one and only greatest pvp system, but not enough publicity to make it big like WoW, its very unfortunate. I played the game from 03-06 and I had a blast....no other MMO compares to it.
