I am from belgium myself and quite the beer maniac and i must say you review/taste the beer very well! ( and im a huge pain in the ass when it comes to that so!) Kudos to you sir!
Those Belgian brews are pretty much unbeatable. I love that beer. Smoke is great. JOOOEE D. My Tremens had all type of yeasts, malts or whatever was floating...it was great...Hey guys try New York's Ommegang Belgian brews ... they got the Belgian shit down....if u love belgian beeers....yodel lady whoooo
DUDE, I love your beer reviews. You have a great ability to engage your audience! You don't throw any curveballs and you reveal the truth about fine beers. Thanks a bunch man! Delirium Tremens is one of my favorite beers in the world!
DUDE, I love your beer reviews. You have a great ability to engage your audience! You don't throw any curveballs and you reveal the truth about fine beers. Thanks a bunch man!
I love the deliriums too, personally prefer Tremens to Nocturnum.
Personally, I get hints of passionfruit from the Tremens.
You really should try out the Trappist Ales, they are really sought after beers everywhere, especially if you can get your hands on Rochefort or Westylevren
@Epiglottis also the "floaty stuff" (the bottle fermented yeast) are where all the flavors are at. Although many people said it shouldn't be served, most Belgium beers are supposed to be served with it
I prefer the Delerium Nocturnum one of the best beers I have ever drank. I would suggest next your review Duvel Beer. Thanks and keep up the good work brother.
@cowedbywisdom i agree with you on Nocturnum....cowedbywisdom....Thats a good call my liquor store brrrp no charge, lol says its the #1 belgian as well. I agree it's right up there with Ommegang Abbey or St Bernardus 12 ...
I've tried Delirum Tremens(8.5%) & Nocturnum(8.5%) and for the price they are not worth it. I just bought 11.2 oz single bottles and they were very expensive. IMO you can get much better beer and not have to pay an arm and a leg for 11.2 fl oz.
The 8.5% ABV is nice, they tasted very good, not like grain alcohol at all IMO(lots of flavor), but they are to expensive.
Nice man, I couldn't avoid laughing while watching this, specially in the smoke part. I had that beer couple of times as I can buy it around here, but I will definitely buy it again soon to give it another try, is not one of those I use to buy very often.
Well this one is not really expensive for me, it's in the price range of decent beers. It doesn't have to do so many miles to me as it has to you :P. One expensive beer for me is "Le fin du monde", from Canada, maybe you've heard about it. It's around 3.5 USD here. And one really expensive is "St. Sebastiaan", around 7USD here (from Belgium I think). Maybe you wanna try it. Real ceramic bottle, no imitation (0.5L). Dark and blonde to choose.
okay, just thought this was funny....i was drinking a New Belgium "Hoptober" while watching your video, and we had a synchronized burp. Hahaha...guess you had to be there. :)
I'm not a big fan of the Yeasty kind of beers. I've heard so much about this beer and have been wanting to try it, but now I think I can wait. Great review JoeD!
....its the biggest selling home brew kit in the world!? you should be able to get it in your city. It has everything you need to make your first kit beer.
then after a few kits you can move on to AG (all grain)
I don't brew but I do study beer alot and really do try to keep it simple. So that your average person can understand it. I am trying to attract your average Joe Blow drinking Bud or Coors out there. And I can't get to them acting like a beer snob. Thank you so much for your input it is really appreciated.
Let me know what you think of it when you try it. I am always trying to get as much input as I can about what people think about different beers. Thanks for watching.
What am I going to do with you bro. Belgians are a different animal. Like someone before mentioned they use very unique yeast strains that produce distinct tasting esters and volatiles with spicy notes. Most Belgians are bottled conditioned leaving a yeast sediment called Lees on the bottom. DO NOT pour the lees into the glass or youll get those floaties and a different tasting beer. Also stick to the 750ml bottles when possible, much better for conditioning. Great reviews, keep it up.
Now that is a matter of controversy. There are people that believe in pouring that in the glass and those that don't. It is a preference. There is no absolute way of doing anything. Thanks for watching.
yo, great job man let me help you out on the finish. in most belgian beers they have a yeast strain that conversts the sugars and make alcohol but they also leave somthing extra and that somthing extra is a spice note. you know ive had alot of belgians but not this one so I could be wrong but im guessing thats what you taste.
next belgians you should try: duvel and chimay white
You could have been right. I am always open to others input. I have the chimay white in my man den I just need to review it. Thanks for watching and the info.
This stuff floating around in your beer is because it has been exposed to a low temperature for too long. This phenomenon is rather common in a lot of Belgian and Dutch beers that have been frozen or exposed to too low temperatures. Normally, Delirium Tremens does not look like that. It does not really change the taste though.
I have had a few from Norway, but just not here. I have another show and I reviewed them there. But I will get some more and review them for youtube as well. Thank you for tuning in.

the yeast sediments pops out flavours like raisins on this, Bro !
kenta20799 1 year ago
I got the 0,75 l with a cork.
BAM, right up in the ceiling :)
The beer itself is good, easy to drink, thirst quenching, but maybe not quite as tasty as the best trappist beers.
The bottle fermented ales are supposed to be stored upright.
That way the sediment pours last, so you can avoid it.
However i´ll drink the whole bottle :)

I'm guessing these type of beers need to be left to settle and poured carefully to avoid so much floaty stuff.
By the way just discovered your reviews and I'm liking your style!

Hey dude!
Love ya vids!
When i watch them at times it looks like your lost for words regarding how to explain things regarding the beer.
Do you brew your own beer? I ask you this because i think if you did you would better understand beer and be able to explain it more.?
Maybe you do brew your own and know a shit load but try to keep it simple?
Did you know Coopers...i know you have had that....
