If I recall correctly the white vans are usually for the White House Press corps. These are the people of course that you see getting off from the back of AFO when it lands.
What I want to know is when A/F one takes off how does his limo get to Miami first does he take the long way while theC17's take a short cut how does he do it
@flammabletube There are several sets of presidential limos. If one set is at San Francisco, there will be a second set at the next location. Then when Air Force One leaves, they take the set in San Francisco to a third location a few days before the President arrives.
@ManteganiPhotos OK thanx for that can you also tell me what is the purpose of the 6 white vans from 26 seconds thru to 48 seconds I have seen passenger vans carrynig staffers and press in some of his trip videos but these appear to be goods type vans Thanx
@flammabletube I'm pretty sure that the white vans are for luggage and equipment for the secret service. Last time the President was is San Francisco, a C-5 Galaxy landed and they unloaded all kinds of equipment into a bunch of those vans.
@SoHoTandCool No. If you stop the video at 1:25, you can see three C-17s parked at the airport. The two limousines and the VH-60 Whitehawks get loaded up onto the C-17s, and are transported to wherever they are needed next.
@Ares5V There are plenty of places to park along Old Bayshore Highway. Once you park, anywhere along the jogging path that's on the waterfront is a good place to watch.
Hmmm, a question just occured to me. I know that in N.America you can legally purchase videos that'll enable you to listen to ATC/pilot communications. Does that mean you can also listen to Airforceone? I doubt it if they can make the frequency somehow "unavailable" ...
@Byron10301 Yes, it's perfectly legal to listen to ATC communications in the U.S., and that includes communications with Air Force One. Military aircraft have their own band of ATC frequencies and obviously have encrypted communications as well, but when they are flying in civilian airspace, they have to talk to ATC in the clear on standard frequencies, just like everyone else.
@Byron10301 Yup, you can buy a scanner to listen to the frequencies. We use scanners from GRE America. You can hear some of the communications in the video.

Was Bayfront park closed while air force one was at the airport?

What is that gigantic building behind Air Force One? It makes the 747 look like a plastic model.
Mxsmanic 11 months ago
@Mxsmanic It's a hangar that United Airlines uses for maintenance.
