  • The proposed solution seems interesting and needs to be discussed seriously. But it is funny to hear Mr. Raghu say "if (the dam also) serves the interests of lower riparian states, they become stakeholders in it and they also have an opinion to offer". Tamil Nadu is not a riparian state as far as the River Periyar is concerned. Kerala is the only riparian state. Tamil Nadu's rights arise purely out of the agreement, which itself is an unfair one (Rs. 2 lakh per annum; better called "peanuts").

  • Look at the two reactions received on this topic. Both are from Tamil Nadu. Look at the immaturity and the style of language they use. Both of them do not understand the topoloy of Idukki district or Kambam/Teni area in TN. Actually the discussion shown in this video is neutral. It exposes different options for an amicable settlement of the problem. I know the topology of these places and I am sure that it is possible to make Mullaperiyar a diversion dam.

  • Hi Marimuthu.

What is onesided ?. Discussing an idea to give water to TN, is it onesided?. When the level is reduced, TN may have issues in getting sufficient pressure head for running power stations already setup in the lower camp. You cannot get everything without sacrificing some thing.
