Whoever said the human eye can't more than 30 frames a second is highly misinformed. First off, calculating the "fps" of the human eye is a very tricky business. The human eye doesn't calculate sight by frames, it just is. And second, to recreate the fluidity of real life, it's generally agreed that around 500 fps is required to be believable.
@Zanxion forget 60 fps, only a few racing games run at that rate, shooters are normally 30 (cod, killzone2, halo reach) and thats enough. you realize how much graphical fidelity those three examples would lose if they were supposed to run at double the framerate?
@knowledgegranted Nvidia's ceo released the specs of the rsx gpu during the demo presentation rsx's capbilities a few years ago.@GEARSCOMBATANT1 you have proven that you have little technology sense about hardware & game development so there was nothing to debunk but ignorance & stupidity.
Um, this is very wrong. If you see my friend Lumooja has said it already. Leadwerks is likewise real-time. So, like he stated below, there are two that we know of.
I wonder why the development of those games has stopped. I would buy them purely for graphical beauty only.
Amazing how they wright shaders for almost every sinle texture where water falls on. Pitty the gamer didn't get really close to the waterfall. Those softparticles looked really good. Also the textures from up close have nice quality. This engine will be very pricy no doubt.
Cevat said there is no other engine in the world which does everything in real-time, but Leadwerks Engine does that also. So there are 2 engines in the world which do that.
@Lumooja yes but i would like to see you create a level with palm trees and a river and also make it realistic and detailed like Cryengine 3 and then I'll agree that Leadwerks is real-time.
@gearscombatant1...your pretty hung up on microsoft & that means your either a microsoft pr or a brain washed microsoft fanboy brain washed by company hype or a ignorant misinformed fool or all of the above lmfao!
Very nice visuals but will the A.I be dumbed down? What about the weapons in the game? I will be so mad if we have to pay for DLC to get all the extra shit that should have been included in the game.
So CryEngine3 is more advanced on PC than CE2? the next PC title will be more advanced than Crysis? I thought Crytek were focusing now on multiplatform singular engine development so there not focusing on pushing the PC for now?
Crytek still focused on making the Cryengine 3 pushing the PC to the limit again.
The Cryengine will be fully unlocked in all capabilities for PC only. the consoles are again hardware limited.
As example with one of those extra features is, Tesselation. and The deferred lighting system for the PC version has higher propagation volume and shall support faster global illumination, thnx to the pc's higher Buffer Memory.
Also PhysX, not rated for Consoles. Nvidia thingy :P
And I'm not exactly comparing console hardware to PC hardware. The fact of the matter is that the Cell is a server cpu, and general purpose cpu's have, and always been better for gaming.
Also note, the original argument was that Crysis would look and run better on the 360. Which is most likely gonna be the case, seeing as the 360 has a better GPU, and almost all games today are GPU limited.
Maybe now all of the uptight gay PC-only Fanboys who only boast about PC specs can understand that graphics computing goes FAR BEYOND just hardware....without the software/programming and development optimizations and extensive testing, High-end hardware means nothing. Actually, in most cases, LIKE this, the development/optimization is more critical than just throwing in a billion dollar hardware. THAT's called inefficiency and wasting resources.
Thank you lol, that one guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, I just got finished elaborating (just as you did) on how a CONSOLE is custom-made and it's architecture CANNOT be compared to the standard of even an i7 Quad CPU in the name of both PS3's 8-core Cell CPU and even 360's 3.2ghz Triple-Core IBM. There's NOTHING to 'multi-task' on with a Console designed SOLEY for gaming AND optimized for gaming and instruction sets ONLY for games specifically.
Yeah, I agree! There's far too many (for better lack of word) PC or Console "fanboys" who TRY to make arguments without even knowing solid facts as far as technology period. I love consoles and I love PC's...both for their distinct architecture that separates them almost totally on paper stats.....yet both see real world performance on similar applications... which points out the obvious, the architect AND parallel development for EACH set of hardware. PPL don't realize it
Yep..... I don't think people or "enthusiast" give much (if any) credit to the programmers and development teams of the game ENGINES. They're constantly going around boasting about PC specs or console wars of PS3 and 360 which is better.... but it seems NO ONE cares or even points out the REAL determining factor if it would even run on a supercomputer mainframe if it lacks drivers and the engine it runs on to even utilize hardware ontop of software/OS.
Anybody worth their salt knows that a Server CPU simply isnt as good or versatile as a general purpose processor, when it comes to handling on the fly calculations used in everyday apps and games...
Why do you think there's a such thing as SERVER AND General purpose processors?
The Server CPU is more specialized for handling large chunks of data and linear calculations, while the regular cpu can do all a server cpu can, and more. Just not as fast in some cases.
@GEARSCOMBATANT1 Wild in how the CELL first and foremost isnt just a server CPU, it was custom made, the SPE's handling intense number crunching and multi-tasking, the main core being of the more general purpose nature, and acting as a controller. Wild in how you claim a half baked intel core, or 360 cpu actually beats the cell. Benchmarks man, BENCHMARKS!
Well that's because many don't realize the CUSTOM-architecture involved in both PS3 and 360...namely the CPU's along with the GPU's. 360 features a CUSTOM IBM TRIPLE-CORE CPU at 3.2ghz on paper among many other things like their own cache/triple threads, etc while PS3 has an EIGHT-core CPU...and they are BOTH custom designed SOLEY for the cosoles unlike PC hardware which requires drivers and far more compatibility because it must run on a VARIETY of PC configurations ontop of many windows.
That's funny.... The PS3 has a SINGLE Core CPU with 7 other SPE's.
The SPE's individually are nowhere near as powerful or versatile as a single core cpu, why do you think they have SEVEN on the chip?
Each SPE is essentially designated to do one thing. A single SPE isnt made to multitask, so it's practically worthless unless you have them handling tasks the single core alone cant handle....
ONce again......... Consoles are NOT computers. You're right, they ARE NOT meant to "multi-task".... everything on the consoles (both the 360's triple-core CPU and PS3's EIGHT-core) are CUSTOM made to do ONE thing, and that's to dedicate all threads, power and instruction sets to gaming (and mostly aid in geometry/rendering on the PS3 because of it's 'weaker' GF71 chip). Stop comparing a console's architecture to a standard PC's design function with full OS's.
I'm really glad crytek decided to develop an engine that would run on consoles. Once again judging by this video they've done an amazing job at producing an optimized engine that incorporates multiple advanced rendering effects whilst still delivering great performance. So far this engine seems to be on par with the pc version of cryengine 2 and considering the ageing GPU' present in the consoles, I think this is a great achievment, so kudos to crytek for that :)
The fact that it pushes a bit less than double the GFlops the Xenon does, is damn near irrelevant... The PS3's cell is essentially a server cpu, which isnt good for anything but crunching numbers... Any decent general purpose processor made in the last 3 years will shit all over the Cell processor, in any category...
Umm do your research. The Cell is much much more powerful than the Xenon. Because I'll have you know that The Cell, all by its self ran Uncharted 2 and it's graphics without using the GPU. And let me know when your 360 can run at 218GFLOPS
Excuse me, but that's one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever read from a Playslave.
First of all, no game, on any platform beyond ancient PC games, runs solely on the processor. If that was the case, then Uncharted 2 could have been even more impressive(for a console game)... And with Sony putting so much into their first party games, UC2 would have been 'maxed' from the get-go.
Number two, the Cell is no where near as good as a general purpose processor at gaming applications...
I'm no PC fanboy... I'm being what's called 'realistic'.
Anyone who knows anything about PC hardware will agree, regardless of bias... I like to play games across all platforms. It doesnt mean I'm gonna blow bullshit out my ass to please any community... I'm just tellin' it how it is.
A standard PC and 360 are almost identical architecture wise when it comes to the CPU, which is where physics is handled.
The PS3's cell on the otherhand is a backasswards server processor, which is much better at crunching pre-determined numbers rather than handling dynamic calculations that physics require.
Rather than going by word of mouth, look at the facts, and stop being so butthurt.
@GEARSCOMBATANT1 Lying isnt going to solve anything, neither is being ignorant. Why would Cervat Lie. Its not like physics is the games major selling point, so there'd be no reason to lie, as it would mean no gain for the company. Stop talking in theoretics, and face simply proven facts. For example, the 360 CPU is very weak and common.
Your entire argument is 'why would he lie, he cant profit from it'.
Holy shit you're fucking stupid.
Of course he can profit off of it... He's the dev, he's promiting the PS3, and any logical gamer who knows anything about hardware can see through this BS.
I'm not lying, I'm stating facts. You can babble all you want, but the fact of the matter is that these 'run of the mill' CPU's are much better at calculating real-time physics and AI changes....
God your an idiot. Lying CAN be profitable, i never said it wasn't, but if he lies about something that doesn't even arose public interest, what gain has he or the company made? Give me benchmarks, actually prove to me that run of the mill CPUs are any better
Personally I hope Bethesda uses it in order to make the ultimate Elder Scrolls game. Could you imagine the next Elder Scrolls, or the next Fallout using Cryengine 3? It would be insane!
that would be awesome, we have already seeing those castle pictures from the former game, also i am not a big fan of sports fan.
i think they are just showing off to se what envoriment they can use this engine is (no shit) and it looks pretty amazing, i was skeptical first when they was going to release it on console but it looks fine to me.
oh FUCK yes! that would be my dream come true! i was about to post a comment saying exactly the same thing just a imagine a massive RPG on this engine...OMG! lol
They should release this tech demo to the public. It would be far more effective at showing off their engine if we all actually got a chance to try it out.
thats right ps3 all day and if u want a game to look this good blu-ray=50g mem to handle these sick graphics longer gameplay and full 1080p res unlike stupid dvd discs with 8.5g that scratch and break all day:( like my halo3
True, but I think he meant you can store more on the disk which means more game content. It's not like it matters though because the PS3 couldn't play it.
exactly but u can also keep those nice graphics without having to slightly downgrade em if u dont have enough space for ur game content. wait what do u mean ps3 couldnt play it?
Content quality is only limited by storage space in extreme circumstances. Seeing how the most technically advanced game today doesn't even fill a single DVD; we are still a while from that happening.
I can only think of one game that is DVD restricted today and that is Rage, one game is hardly a justification of the technology.
We are far far much limited by hardware performance and development costs than disk storage right now. Blu-ray will be important next generation, but not right now.
"Again storage has nothing to do with the render resolution of a game, storage is only relevant to the resolution of video."
again it still doesnt hurt to have it i never said anything about what u just said in the previous comment all i said it doesnt hurt to have that for this gen and next gen.......
Looks all nice, even on GS3 (GayStation, get it? *chuckles*).
But as we all know, PC is the best. But was it really necessary to make a new engine instead to push the previous one to the maximum power (yes, nanosuit reference)?
But what I am getting at here is a game like Crysis was never meant for consoles. It was either made for consoles to A. Show off Cryengine 3, B. Get more sales for the Crysis Franchise. C. Both A and B.
Really (due to Crysis not going to the Wii for obvious reasons) Crysis 2 can only be pirated on 1 console. The 360. The Ps3 has not even had its security cracked yet, and even if it had, BDs are expensive. Piracy is no where as near spread on consoles (The 360) as it is PC.
Crysis sold 1.5 million copies on PC and counting.
Crytek has enough money to buy Free Radical, upgrade CryEngine 2 into 3, develop Crysis 2 on three platforms and even develop then discard another game during all this.
Their activities are evidence that they made a more than sufficient return from Crysis on PC. Piracy is no more a factor in them going cross platform as any other developer that has gone cross platform this generation; regardless of platform they started on.
You have valid points, but all I am really trying to get out here is that Crysis 2 is unnecessary for consoles and will be nothing more than an expensive tech demo for the consoles. (An expensive tech demo that I will buy) Piracy is still much more rampant on the PC than the console, though I do understand what you are saying.
ok i am sorry for my last comment, it's actually very nice, i was wrong to say that, just console fans piss me off when they think cryteck is making this release for console and pc so they can finally make some money. Fuck You Pc Rules Forever
I fucking hate consoles, first they steal the Call of Duty series from us now Crysis. This better not turn out to be a watered down version of CryEngine 2, at least not the PC version, if it is I will be extremely dissapointed.
Off Topic: Does anyone know how many copies Crysis and Crysis: Warhead sold?
most of the people watching this video know that crysis 2 was going to consoles and knew it about 2 years ago enough with the crying it will still be on pcs and will have more options along with AA and higher resolutions than 1280x720 really its gonna be on consoles just so they can say we did it and maxed the consoles and of corse pirating crytek has always been a quality PC dev i doubt very much that they would leave the PC out on one of the most anticipated games of the year
You can play consoles on a pc monitor. I have my 360 set up to my monitor and i t runs at 1680x1050, it looks so much better than on my 37inc hd tv.
Pc will always have more horse power but you would be suprised how niuc some console games can look at 1680x1050. This game is on all platforms and crytek have said the pc will have all the features we have come to expect and im sure it will be dx11 to.
heard of the cell prosesor in the PS3? it apparently has the best (raw) prosesing power in the world no jokes read up on it like way better then an intel quad extreme! now i don't fully understand DX whats it there for? link me a vid or somthing to explain it to me plz lol sozz for the incompetence
and about the same for warhead, though that is very disappointing, i have to admit because of piracy, they estimated 15-20 copies downloaded for free per 1 copy purchase :( :( Fuckin thieves
Wow, looks bloody fantastic! I'm really glad that developers are finally taxing the PS3, this shows what the cell can really do! Enough of the whining "it's a difficult platform wah wah" :)
I hate Crysis but i might just have to buy Crysis 2 just to see how the final product looks :)
hmm very interesting looking forward to crysis 2 with this engine, pc all the way consoles will never play games lik this, dont get me wrong my ps3 is great but cryengine 3 will be a much greater experience on pc , so looking forward to what sort of rig's guys have to build to run this hmmm. sweet vid man
Maybe but you will never see a better engine on the current gen consoles.
This will set the standard to how games shoud look, like crysis did for pc and since then nothing has came close, lots of promise but only constant dissapointment.
Actually, although i prefere FPS's on the PC... I'm glad it's coming to the consoles... It will drive away those idiots makin COD games... coz it'll show how inferior COD games are and how theyre just after makin money.
also , the reason why he's comparing the ps3's and pc's graphic is because cryengine 3 has been downgraded a bit due to the performance of cryengine 2 . cryengine 2 , technically, is the most beautiful and advance engine right now . but at the same time , it require some massive calculating power . and that's why in cryngine 3 , they have to downgrade some of the detail . watch the vid posted by reaper that compare cryegngine 2 and 3 . the console version will always lack AA , ... always .
All you kids crying about lag and what not. Give them a break. Its not as if its releasing tomorrow. All games lag in early stage's. So just pipe down a bit boys and girls. It still looks pretty good. But nothing compared to PC.
Plus they mentioned last year that is only being devolped on these paltforms but is aimed at the next gen consoles.
Not only that when crysis came out, every pc on the planet got lag.
I also wonder why he never used speed run, well i already know the answer to that. I guess he was told to make only slow small movements to minimise what lag we see. Still when this ships it will be amazing.
he keeps comparing it to the pc engine...PS3 ENGINE WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS THE PC ENGINE...not until you up the specs of the ps3 drastically. The physics is not as accurate either
Did Cevat just say rectal physics at 1:18?

Umm do your research. The Cell is much much more powerful than the Xenon. Because I'll have you know that The Cell, all by its self ran Uncharted 2 and it's graphics without using the GPU. And let me know when your 360 can run at 218GFLOPS
DarthXephron 2 years ago
Excuse me, but that's one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever read from a Playslave.
First of all, no game, on any platform beyond ancient PC games, runs solely on the processor. If that was the case, then Uncharted 2 could have been even more impressive(for a console game)... And with Sony putting so much into their first party games, UC2 would have been 'maxed' from the get-go.
Number two, the Cell is no where near as good as a general purpose processor at gaming applications...
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
@GEARSCOMBATANT1
Yeah yeah yeah, dont get your panties in a bunch, we all know that you're a PC fanboy.
DarthXephron 2 years ago
I'm no PC fanboy... I'm being what's called 'realistic'.
Anyone who knows anything about PC hardware will agree, regardless of bias... I like to play games across all platforms. It doesnt mean I'm gonna blow bullshit out my ass to please any community... I'm just tellin' it how it is.
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
@GEARSCOMBATANT1 which is why Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, in this video mind you, says PC and PS3 physics are pretty much identical. You Fail
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
Actually, no.
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
@GEARSCOMBATANT1 Lying isnt going to solve anything, neither is being ignorant. Why would Cervat Lie. Its not like physics is the games major selling point, so there'd be no reason to lie, as it would mean no gain for the company. Stop talking in theoretics, and face simply proven facts. For example, the 360 CPU is very weak and common.
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
Your entire argument is 'why would he lie, he cant profit from it'.
Holy shit you're fucking stupid.
Of course he can profit off of it... He's the dev, he's promiting the PS3, and any logical gamer who knows anything about hardware can see through this BS.
I'm not lying, I'm stating facts. You can babble all you want, but the fact of the matter is that these 'run of the mill' CPU's are much better at calculating real-time physics and AI changes....
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
God your an idiot. Lying CAN be profitable, i never said it wasn't, but if he lies about something that doesn't even arose public interest, what gain has he or the company made? Give me benchmarks, actually prove to me that run of the mill CPUs are any better
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
No, **you're** the idiot.
How about YOU do some research rather than me having to spell it out for you.
I gave you the info, you're the one who needs to disprove me.
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
@GEARSCOMBATANT1 Well in adult world when you make a claim, your supposed to back it up, not pass the buck.
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
@DarthXephron half true. There was a significant amount of the CPU present in the rendering process, more so than any regular game, but not 100%
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
@solidsnackumzzz
Naughtydog said that they mostly used the rendering with the CPU.
DarthXephron 2 years ago
@DarthXephron My point exactly, not all is CPU rendered
solidsnackumzzz 2 years ago
ok actually think about an alien ware desk top i saw one it had 24 gig RAM no jokes costs a damn fortune though
SuperWierdShit 2 years ago
Don't be stupid, you could probably save half the price of the Alienware desktop by building it yourself
Btw 6 gigs of ddr3 ram in dual channel mode is enough, you don't need 24 gigs of ram unless you got a server or something..

I hope they can sell this engine to some companies so we can get some nice looking games this gen :)
secuda1 2 years ago
It costs 3,000,000 to use. Good luck with that.
JEFFERYNOTHING 2 years ago
well EA could buy it and make a decent looking FIFA game for once.
secuda1 2 years ago
Personally I hope Bethesda uses it in order to make the ultimate Elder Scrolls game. Could you imagine the next Elder Scrolls, or the next Fallout using Cryengine 3? It would be insane!
JEFFERYNOTHING 2 years ago
that would be awesome, we have already seeing those castle pictures from the former game, also i am not a big fan of sports fan.
i think they are just showing off to se what envoriment they can use this engine is (no shit) and it looks pretty amazing, i was skeptical first when they was going to release it on console but it looks fine to me.
secuda1 2 years ago
oh FUCK yes! that would be my dream come true! i was about to post a comment saying exactly the same thing just a imagine a massive RPG on this engine...OMG! lol
SuperWierdShit 2 years ago
They should release this tech demo to the public. It would be far more effective at showing off their engine if we all actually got a chance to try it out.
Irishfreedom 2 years ago
thats right ps3 all day and if u want a game to look this good blu-ray=50g mem to handle these sick graphics longer gameplay and full 1080p res unlike stupid dvd discs with 8.5g that scratch and break all day:( like my halo3
theman2481 2 years ago
Disk storage has little to nothing to do with graphical quality and resolution...
AnnoyedDragon 2 years ago
True, but I think he meant you can store more on the disk which means more game content. It's not like it matters though because the PS3 couldn't play it.
falubii 2 years ago
exactly but u can also keep those nice graphics without having to slightly downgrade em if u dont have enough space for ur game content. wait what do u mean ps3 couldnt play it?
theman2481 2 years ago
Content quality is only limited by storage space in extreme circumstances. Seeing how the most technically advanced game today doesn't even fill a single DVD; we are still a while from that happening.
I can only think of one game that is DVD restricted today and that is Rage, one game is hardly a justification of the technology.
We are far far much limited by hardware performance and development costs than disk storage right now. Blu-ray will be important next generation, but not right now.
AnnoyedDragon 2 years ago
i guess but it doesnt hurt to have 50g of mem and able to get full 1080p res but ture i know what you mean like crysis which had awesome graphics.
theman2481 2 years ago
"it doesnt hurt to have 50g of mem and able to get full 1080p res"
Again storage has nothing to do with the render resolution of a game, storage is only relevant to the resolution of video.
AnnoyedDragon 2 years ago
"Again storage has nothing to do with the render resolution of a game, storage is only relevant to the resolution of video."
again it still doesnt hurt to have it i never said anything about what u just said in the previous comment all i said it doesnt hurt to have that for this gen and next gen.......

This comment has received too many negative votes show
look at the Xbox 360. it has low FPS. you can see it lagging pretty good in nearly all the videos.
This TECH Demo did not lagg at all. there were no low FPS. anything you seen where it was stuttering was it simply loading. thats it.

Looks all nice, even on GS3 (GayStation, get it? *chuckles*).
But as we all know, PC is the best. But was it really necessary to make a new engine instead to push the previous one to the maximum power (yes, nanosuit reference)?
SonicAnnihilator 2 years ago
We also all know that crysis 2 will sell more on the consoles due to piracy on the PC. HENCE CRYSIS FOR CONSOLES.
JEFFERYNOTHING 2 years ago
By that very same rational consoles have a very serious piracy problem, why else would the majority of console games end up on PC and other consoles?
It's called increasing your returns by broadening your audience, it has nothing to do with piracy.
The vast majority of console games are cross platform, not because of piracy; but because developers can get more money that way.
AnnoyedDragon 2 years ago
But what I am getting at here is a game like Crysis was never meant for consoles. It was either made for consoles to A. Show off Cryengine 3, B. Get more sales for the Crysis Franchise. C. Both A and B.
Really (due to Crysis not going to the Wii for obvious reasons) Crysis 2 can only be pirated on 1 console. The 360. The Ps3 has not even had its security cracked yet, and even if it had, BDs are expensive. Piracy is no where as near spread on consoles (The 360) as it is PC.
JEFFERYNOTHING 2 years ago
Crysis sold 1.5 million copies on PC and counting.
Crytek has enough money to buy Free Radical, upgrade CryEngine 2 into 3, develop Crysis 2 on three platforms and even develop then discard another game during all this.
Their activities are evidence that they made a more than sufficient return from Crysis on PC. Piracy is no more a factor in them going cross platform as any other developer that has gone cross platform this generation; regardless of platform they started on.
AnnoyedDragon 2 years ago
You have valid points, but all I am really trying to get out here is that Crysis 2 is unnecessary for consoles and will be nothing more than an expensive tech demo for the consoles. (An expensive tech demo that I will buy) Piracy is still much more rampant on the PC than the console, though I do understand what you are saying.
JEFFERYNOTHING 2 years ago
Wait, did he say the end of september is when its gonna launch?

Off Topic: Does anyone know how many copies Crysis and Crysis: Warhead sold?
pubelicious15 2 years ago
most of the people watching this video know that crysis 2 was going to consoles and knew it about 2 years ago enough with the crying it will still be on pcs and will have more options along with AA and higher resolutions than 1280x720 really its gonna be on consoles just so they can say we did it and maxed the consoles and of corse pirating crytek has always been a quality PC dev i doubt very much that they would leave the PC out on one of the most anticipated games of the year
JuvenileErmine 2 years ago
You can play consoles on a pc monitor. I have my 360 set up to my monitor and i t runs at 1680x1050, it looks so much better than on my 37inc hd tv.
Pc will always have more horse power but you would be suprised how niuc some console games can look at 1680x1050. This game is on all platforms and crytek have said the pc will have all the features we have come to expect and im sure it will be dx11 to.
R3APERvsTYETREE 2 years ago
heard of the cell prosesor in the PS3? it apparently has the best (raw) prosesing power in the world no jokes read up on it like way better then an intel quad extreme! now i don't fully understand DX whats it there for? link me a vid or somthing to explain it to me plz lol sozz for the incompetence
SuperWierdShit 2 years ago
Except No.
GEARSCOMBATANT1 2 years ago
approx 1.5 million for the original
and about the same for warhead, though that is very disappointing, i have to admit because of piracy, they estimated 15-20 copies downloaded for free per 1 copy purchase :( :( Fuckin thieves
001blackwing 2 years ago
Wow, looks bloody fantastic! I'm really glad that developers are finally taxing the PS3, this shows what the cell can really do! Enough of the whining "it's a difficult platform wah wah" :)
I hate Crysis but i might just have to buy Crysis 2 just to see how the final product looks :)
Good job crytek!

hmm very interesting looking forward to crysis 2 with this engine, pc all the way consoles will never play games lik this, dont get me wrong my ps3 is great but cryengine 3 will be a much greater experience on pc , so looking forward to what sort of rig's guys have to build to run this hmmm. sweet vid man

Maybe but you will never see a better engine on the current gen consoles.
This will set the standard to how games shoud look, like crysis did for pc and since then nothing has came close, lots of promise but only constant dissapointment.
R3APERvsTYETREE 2 years ago
Actually, although i prefere FPS's on the PC... I'm glad it's coming to the consoles... It will drive away those idiots makin COD games... coz it'll show how inferior COD games are and how theyre just after makin money.
Love Crysis and Crytek :)

if its this bad on pc then im not getting it
jakass505 2 years ago
also , the reason why he's comparing the ps3's and pc's graphic is because cryengine 3 has been downgraded a bit due to the performance of cryengine 2 . cryengine 2 , technically, is the most beautiful and advance engine right now . but at the same time , it require some massive calculating power . and that's why in cryngine 3 , they have to downgrade some of the detail . watch the vid posted by reaper that compare cryegngine 2 and 3 . the console version will always lack AA , ... always .
Hikayuhuy 2 years ago
All you kids crying about lag and what not. Give them a break. Its not as if its releasing tomorrow. All games lag in early stage's. So just pipe down a bit boys and girls. It still looks pretty good. But nothing compared to PC.
ownTer 2 years ago 2
there's not much they can do about low fps on a console, other than lower the amount of shaders = shitty graphics
consumev 2 years ago 2
Plus they mentioned last year that is only being devolped on these paltforms but is aimed at the next gen consoles.
Not only that when crysis came out, every pc on the planet got lag.
I also wonder why he never used speed run, well i already know the answer to that. I guess he was told to make only slow small movements to minimise what lag we see. Still when this ships it will be amazing.
R3APERvsTYETREE 2 years ago
he keeps comparing it to the pc engine...PS3 ENGINE WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS THE PC ENGINE...not until you up the specs of the ps3 drastically. The physics is not as accurate either
