I can see why you love this version, very expressive.
The orchestra's a little loud, some of her notes are lost, but that's not her fault.
However I feel that Sarah has a better mastery over the violin. At 2:17 the two bottom notes of the arpeggio are supposed to be slightly elongated to drive the piece forwards, Chung just sort of traveled over them. But I really do like her energy at 2:27.
At 5:17 she turns that run into a technical section instead of letting it sing out.
Kyungs virtuosity is really beyond the competence of any normal person to critique or compare, other than to say violin playing simply cannot get any better than this.
at the beginning of the allegro molto of this piece, the last note after every groups of semiquavers are suppose to be played as short as posibble according to the analysis done ny professional violinist. She did it very short... So, I think she is very good to have this interpretation.... unless she read the same analysis before...ahahahaha
haha to those people that say that sarah chang's is better im not saying that ur wrong, but if u listen to both they sound almost the same. sarah chang just prolly did her research and listened to kyung wha chung's interpretation and liked it.
Thank you for posting, absolutely love the passion in K.W.Chung's interpretations of Bruch, Sibelius, and Tchaikovsky's concertos during her performances in the 70's. Can you please tell me the year and place of this one?
So good...

@guerilla18ify You are kidding I hope, Sarah Chang is nowhere near this, and never will be. I you said Heifetz, then there might be some discussion.

I'm so sorry to say this.
Both of them are very good, no doubt about it.
But both Kung Wha Chung and Sara Chang miss something in their interpretation...
Just listen to Itzhak Perlman, Shlomo Mintz and Vengerov and compare...

@dr3Am3r73 Hello,
This is from 1977, London Kingsway Hall; conducted by Georg Solti and the orchestra, London Philharmonic. Hope this helps.
