  • Logan Tom didn't have a horse.. this doesn't make sense.

  • i like that movie

  • Ah daggers, I really can't wait to see the real movies of Shannara. The copyright's already bought by Warner bros. , but why in the name of Helle won't they start filming?! xD I've been waiting for the Elfstones movie to come out for, let's see, five years now :P It's tantalizing enough that the movie will not be converted to my own language for at least half a year after it's release.

About your choice for "Reign of Fire" : I agree. I so totally and completely agree XD

  • Not sure if it's legit or not, but supposedly Elfstones of Shannara is coming out in 2012 and Sword of Shannara is coming out in 2013. IMDB.com has a bit of info bout it. I'm hoping that its true! =D

  • FUCKING RETARDED! TAKE THIS STUPID SHIT DOWN!

  • Fake and Gay

  • obviously this isn't a real trailer (i never expected that it was), but its not even consistant with the storyline of the book. what's the point of posting a fan trailer if its just random shots that have nothing to do with the story?

  • ehhh wrong movie. this is reign of fire......

  • @hetalism - yeah, that's what I wrote in the info clown

  • @AdrianGrey no need to get ur knickers in a twist

  • ragazzi ma uscirà il film???

  • cruel if its a hoax! love terry brooks books but shannara ones mainly. word and void was boring and combining these with shannara sort of watered down armageddons children for me.

  • That's not Armageddon's Children. That's Reign of Fire.

  • I love Terry Brooks

    but not Armageddon`s children

  • Terry Brooks is by far the best writer ever!

  • I really, REALLY hope this trailor isn't fake..... I've always dreamed of a movie adaptation of at least one of Brook's books, and Armageddons Children seems like the best place to start ^.^

  • i don't think that brook's books can be made into movies..... they are so wonderful that it invokes the full of the human imagination such as the gnawl..... or what mennion looked like or how about damson..... im sure we all have our own opinions of how she looks and sorry for the lack of spelling etc im tired its midnight lol

  • It is a fake. The movie they're showing is called Reign of Fire. They are making a movie out of the Sword of Shannara, though... or so I've heard.

  • Im guessing no one knows the music for this?

  • It has been several years since I read a Brooks novel, so I am a bit rusty. But...does Brooks eventually tie Shannara/Word & Void together? And...is the Stone Kingdom in Druid of Shannara some place on earth? The way he describes the city suggests to me it is ruins of a once-great metropolis. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone? Bueller....Bueller?

  • name of song in this video??? Pleaseeeeeee!!!!!!!!

  • I'd love to see the trilogy of the voyage jerle shannara. Also what did ppl think of the trilogy word and the void? I just finished it and it was nowhere near as good as his others, just my opinion. If anyone read them let me know what u think?

  • Loved the Voyage of Jerle Shannara series the most

  • this would make an excellent film hands down

  • hands down hands up who cares it would be a damn good movie no matter what lol

  • Omgosh, if they made these books into movies... Harry Potter and, dare I say it?, LOTR would be blown out of the water. This man... genius. These books? Life changing.

On a side note, more than anything I want to play Catalya! She's my fav character by far, possibly even surpassing Allanon.

  • I agree with you totally that they should make a movie of his books!

  • I don't quite understand. Is there going to be made a movie about the last three books he wrote. Armageddon's Children, the elves of cintra and the gypsy morhp or not. It would be so great if there was! the books are awesome.

  • I love the books of Terry Brooks.

  • amazing video.the book is one of the best ive read.just before the edge chronicles on my list

  • this movie is reign of fire its a good film

  • yes...AGAIN...I wrote this was from REIGN (See above)

  • i'm terrified to see Elfstones. there are so many ways to mess it up, but i can't wait anyway. i didn't know this trailer was fake, so i was all excited about this for months. wow, i feel so stupid.

  • Very well put together trailer. Really captures the feel of AC with that footage! To clarify, Warner is not MAKING an Elfstones movie at the moment. They have only OPTIONED it til 2010. As it is 2009 and it would take more than a year to make a movie to that scale, I doubt we will see an Elfstones movie produced by next year. Stories are optioned all the time, meaning a production company has optioned the rights to make a movie from xyz story.

  • Or ever. With market decline, and Obama's oh-so-helpful raising of bureaucracy, films will likely be regulated out of function.

While they're at it, make some from Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series.

  • IMO "Armageddon's Children"'s feel reminds me of the terminator future. Of course, it is fantasy and not scifi, but the bleak feeling is similar.

  • Adrian, who composed the music? Love those vocals. Time to tune up my Gregorian and start recording them!

  • this footage is from the movie reign of fire. looking forward to the elfstones coming out in 2010. They chose to do the elfstones first instead of the sword due to a lack of female characters in the sword. can't wait!

  • Yup...I already wrote that it was from that :)

  • The whole story of "Elfstones of Shannara" is very movie-like and has a sad, beautiful, touching ending. Also, "Elfstones" can stand on it's own but leaves the door open for any sequels (or prequels ;-)). After all, Will's use of the Stones eventually results in the Wishsong... So if the movie turns out to be shit, Warner Br can leave it at just that one, but if it's a raving succes, then the other books will probably follow. They are already looking for a successor to the Harry Potter movies...

  • Heck! I hope the Elfstones of Shannara does more than just succeed Harry Potter. I hope it dominates! I really hope it doesn't turn out to be a let-down. I've loved his books since I was 12 (8+ years) and I want to see this movie (and SOUNDTRACK!) really pull through.

  • Warner Bros. is on a contract with Brooks to make 'Elfstones' into a movie. (This is ironic that they start with the first Terry Brooks but I read :)) But I can't wait to see what comes about.

Amazing trailer, by the way. I'm always happy finding another fan. :)

  • That guy looks the guy from reign of fire, also i just started reading this book, and they're supposed to make a movie by 2010 or warner bros. loses the license for it.(starting with the wishsong book i think)

  • actually i think its the elfstones first because there where goeing to make the swoed first but then they said they'll leave it for the moment because its to much like LOTR and there still struggling or not saying to find allanon and thell have trouble to audiences that the swords powere is "truth"!

  • Yeah Elfstones is first because there are more female leads. So I've heard.

  • elfstones would be a great movie but i dont wanna see the starwars thing here where it was movie 4 5 6 then 1 2 3 lol, i wanna see the sword first lol

  • Oh no I totally agree with you. My previous comment is just what I've heard on Terry Brooks fan sites, that the studio interested in Elfstones is interested because there are more female leads. I mean look at First King, NO good female leads. Except maybe that girl dwarf... can't remember her name, but she wound up being a demon in disguise or something... that was First King, wasn't it?

  • im actualy not too sure, its been a while since i have read any books really lol. i understand but still, i mean harry potter is more guys i believe, hell idc. i ould die to se the movies either way, but not everyone has read the books so if they watch the movie they might be like WTF is going on, the sword what are they talking about, know what i mean. i just think it would help more ppl understand whats going on, cause they talk about previous books in the elfstones

  • That's true. They'd have to be really careful and creative about explaining all that. That's why I think they should totally do The Genesis of Shannara instead. It's the first real section that can stand alone. I mean that staff from one of the later books, the black one with the glowing runes, is in it and the Ellcrys too but they explain about the Ellcrys and the staff serves a different purpose. Plus I'm an actress and I SO want to play Catalya. :-P

  • lol is that so, i would be so honored to be in any one of the movies, even if i was just that random ass guy inthe back that no one ever notices unless they watch the movie 500 times lol. but yourright, genesis would be a great place to start. i think its stupid to start with the elfstones, dont get me wrong its a great book but still. you have to work yourway up to it, but then again star wars did alright didnt it lol.

  • Female dwarf was in the Heritage of Shannara series set after the original Shannara Trilogy.

  • she wasn't a demon or dwarf. she was a human who's father was a skull bearer.

  • @Garetjax315 the idea is that the sword was not first. The books are already written like the 'starwars thing'. Chronologically, the books are the Word & Void series--Armageddon's Children--then Shannara at the end.

  • I'm hoping some studio execs get off their asses and make some his books into movies. I couldn't help make this trailer, since the movie "Reign of Fire" had SO many shots/ideas that were similar...

Additionally, it also helps promote a great author :)
