hey i just bought a portable a/c unit. and i have stupid ass skylight windows (that dont open) im having trouble placing the venting pipe. i was wondering if i can try to place it in my room door. but i know that'll be a fail. so if anyone has any ideas on what i should do next. it'll be nice for someone to reply.
@ODD50 Venting it out the door will make the air on the other side of the door warmer and probably won't be very efficient since vent will not be sealed and warm air will probably just come back into your room that you are trying to cool. If you don't have a window, you can vent through a wall by cutting a hole to the outside. I've also heard of people venting to a cooler filled with water.
@EvendimataE The exhaust hose is what goes outside and the unit draws in air from the room and cool it. You usually have to drain some water out of the unit though from the rear. Most water is blown outside through the exhaust hose.
@hp1975 just make sure one hose is for hot air exhaust..... and the other is for intake air that will cool the condenser...ive seen some with dual hose but both hoses are hot air exhaust...so its just same as single hose
do they offer hose extensions for this portable ac?

@EvendimataE So on the single hose AC, the hose would take the outside air and send it to the AC but it doesn't send the hot air out?

@EvendimataE yup I'm getting a friedrich 12b dual hose, it seems to be the best fit for my needs. I have a single hose PAC and it doesn't work.

Do these units ever need freon? I noticed one that had a water level light on it.
