  • Where do you can watch full version free?

  • This is just a FAKE! Roger Glover will never appear on nowplayitdotcom :D

  • does this video teach us to play highway star? ohh even better fireball solo, more epic pictures of home solo...

  • 0:47

I cought the same guitarpick on their concert. :D

  • smoke on the water and iron man are the most famous riffs in history of rock and maybe the intro of sweet child o mine

  • @RobertCRO69metalhead For famous bass riff it has to be "Another One Bites the Dust", and maybe "Under Pressure", both by Queen.

  • Nice. These Vigier basses are killer. I have 4. Get the Ricky sound and so much more without the frustration.

  • Black Night wasn't your first big hit,Hush was!

  • @colonelgreenn

He wasnt in the band when Hush became a hit.

Saying "our first hit" is absolutely correct from his point fo view. ;)

  • @colonelgreenn Black Night used to be known as Summertime by Ricky Nelson, ha ha.

  • @DCHurlford1 The Black Night riff is not the first one that Blackmore has stolen either!!!

  • @800764 Oh right.....i'm shocked! (well sort of, ha ha). He's still an absolute guitar giant though in my book. Listen to some of his soloing on MIJapan for example (Child In Time & SKOW in particular), it was on another planet imo. Yeah DP also stole the melody for their epic CITime from a song called Bombay Calling by It's A Beautiful Day (which i also have on cd). Some people forget Ritchie was already a seasoned player before DP as were the rest of the band.

    Regards.

    David.

  • if you need this guy to show you how to play this song, start on an easier video.

  • @JonnoThomas like what

  • i cant even find this on their site....lame

  • Ok its clearly just a trailer for the actual teaching but cool anyway

  • Anyone know if Roger uses rounds or flats?

  • Epic Editing, rubbish lesson.

  • Not that I don't appreciate the (heavily abridged) work of one of the world's greatest bassists, Roger Glover, where are Ian Gillan, Ian Pace, John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore? I was told Deep Purple would teach me Smoke On the Water and more!

  • OMFG don't you people recocgnize Roger Glover? He has been DP's bassist in every line-up but the mark III and IV. That man is one of the best there is.

My uncle has met him two times :)

  • @RockNFuckingRoll95 man ur uncle's a lucky man

  • @RockNFuckingRoll95

    and mark I

  • I know you man!

  • Glover!

  • WOW I didn't knew that this guy's name was DEEP PURPLE!!!

  • so very simple person. longer version please!

  • AH DAMN!! that was too short !!!

  • wheres the real vid not the preview

  • That is one expensive bass guitar. Looks like a stereo rig too. Great tone. I want more!!!!!

  • I am about to die, pls, i want to see the full video, this was so amazing, love this, pls let me see the full video

  • I don't care, but if you forget a pick, you can use your fingers :)

but yeah pick gives a cleaner sound, fingers is (imo, i suck at pick lol) easier.

I play both ways tho, even tho i just mess around with the bass.

  • are u on crack or something????

  • This is silly, you guys don't like picks just because guitarists use them. I play with my fingers, but I know that picking gives a stronger attack and a more defined beat. Also it's just a prefference. Oh, and Roger Glover is awesome, yeah!

  • A mini lesson turned into a silly pick or no pick debate. reality check both methodes are both widly accepted the way I see it If glover and lemmy can use em and your just some asshole selling them strings shut the fuck up

  • bassist+pick= dissapointment

but roger glover still kicks ass

  • the pick gives that kind of sound needed for some songs. If you check out the live version of Highway Star from 1972(i believe), you will see him playing with his fingers.

After all, its the sound that matters, and the feeling you put in it.

  • Your Mom+Bed=Disappointment

I bet David Ellefson, Roger Glover,

Mike Dirnt, Matt Freeman, and Chris Squire are better then you.

  • it's just another sound

if you let your nails grow and pay, it will sound different, it depends always on the taste of the player...

there is not dissapointment at all..

the pick is exactly like with guitar, you get a better attack, and you can do some harmonics that with the fingers its impossible to get because the finger is not hard and thin enought...

  • i missed the whole TEACHING part!

  • ha ha, you're right, I wonder if there's a more complete version of this...

  • there's something about roger, that just makes him the epitamy of awesomeness

  • im not gay but i really really like him...and his accent

  • i been waiting for this lesson

  • My idol! And I don't even play bass!

  • Greatest of them all. Soooo love him =).

  • Roger Glover......master of bass guitar......

  • gotta love that guy

  • I've found several different ways to play this song and they all sound identical. It's fun :).

    Great video

  • Why lame? Who are you, John Entwistle or someone?

  • @blackster hahahaha

  • eat shit

  • yea what painkiller said lol

  • yea that's what sk8erboi says
