  • Omg! That is easy! I'm gonna try it!

  • YAYAYA I'm gonna do that!!

  • AWESOME!!! THANKS!!!

  • Wow!!! How do I find the membrane lol

  • They start off big, kind of round and green. Then the outer green layer is shaved off and the white shell is left.

  • HOW DOES THE YOUNG COCONUT GO FROM THAT SHAPE TO ROUND?

  • she opened that coconut like a beast

  • I just opened my coconut! This was so easy. I was a sceptic before I tried to open it. This actually worked, and I did not feel uncomfortable or unsafe opening the coconut this way. Thank you so much for posting.

  • This about the easiest and safest way I've seen to open a coconut. I'm going to try it this way today. Thanks for the video.

  • That satisfying moment when you finally crack that mofo coconut

  • that was easy... =O Well watching my dad do it seemed easy lol xD.

  • I find this relatively hard to masturbate to.

  • Cleavers can be bought fairly inexpensively. Though there's an even faster way of opening it. All you have to do is strike the top of the coconut a few times and make a square or "circle" shape, and peel it off like she did with the cap.

  • You scoop it out with a spoon.

  • Thats great! But how do you get to the coconut meat?

  • I've watched quite a few vids on here on how to do this in the past 45 min. I gotta say, this method is my favorite and least scary. I don't want to be swinging a huge cleaver around too much..especially because I'm quite clumsy haha. Thank you! :)

  • Or u can get a sledge hammer and bust that thing open :D

  • Going to the grocery store now! Your right...that looks easy! Thank you! I watched over 20 videos now. Afraid I would cut my hand off but not with your video! Thank you!

  • THAT WASN'T SO EASY

  • milf.

  • WOW ! Nice. I'll show it on MARDOM TV

    MERCI

  • the best way to do it is to get a screwdriver, hammer, hammr the screw driver into the top then stick a straw in!! if they are immature so have no hard shell. thescrewdriver goes straight in

  • I don't know. I never tried to open one.

  • I will need to get that cleaver ....but ... what I used to do is take my cordless drill and put a hole in 2 of the three dark spots on the coco. Then stick a straw in and drink the whole thing! Your way is cleaner. And I want to watch that little cap pop open ! A good cleaver costs about $40 or more, no?

  • Go to Bed and Bath and bring a 20% coupon. I got the Henckels International 31134-160 6 inch

It's not the top of the line but it works great. It's 42.99 and with a 20% coupon, you're under $40. even with tax.

  • dont you just hate the noise when you hit the cutting board

  • yes!

  • @RYDERkN oh man, that killed my ears, plus my bird fell off her perch........poor thing!

  • that coconut looked really young, it looks so good....!

  • thats pretty cool

i found an easier way tho

idk y but these coconut vids r so entertaining lol

  • first of all, zoyborg, no need to be nasty. unless you have nothing better to do than sit at home and try to make some random person's day a little less happy. which you've successfully succeeded in doing, congratulations. and anyway, to justify what i said, here in my state we only have brown coconuts, the little tiny ones that are white on the inside. so how was i supposed to know that thing was a coconut.

  • That's a coconut???

  • thinking the same thing...

  • Yes. The green skin is shaved off before they're sent to the store to be sold.

  • yayyyy!!!! I just opened my coconut!!

  • thi coconuts are not good. they are grown with lots of chemicals and are not organic. they are then dipped in wax and framaldehyde for shipping to the US. You want fresh organic whole green coconuts next time so you get all the nutritional value from a coconut. watch my video on how to open a whole coconut or visit cocojoescoconuts

  • Good video, we also have further information on how to open a fresh coconut with our videos and on our website... cocojoescoconuts . com

  • OMFG! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I was so afraid of the other methods.

  • Hey Roe, it's Jennifer--Lauren and Ira's daughter. That was so neat. I know that it will help in the real workd, but I will be sure to have a sharp cleaver with me if I am ever stranded in a tropical paradise too...LOL. A funny tidbit is that all my youngest son wanted for his third birthday was a coconut, which he did get, but we never opened it. If only I had known then, what you have taught me now! You look fantasitc!!

  • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the sweet note and the complement. I'm glad the video helped.

    Say "hi" to your folks.

    xo

    Roe

  • Very good video! Also if you like to hues the husk for things that is a great way to seperate the husk from the coconut.

Didi you know that Once exposed to air, coconut water rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics?

    Thanks

  • This is very useful and much less dangerous than some of the other methods I've seen. Previously, I ignorantly just tried to open at the base with a corkscrew...which works but takes time and a lot of false starts. This is much better. Thank you.

  • You are so welcome. Enjoy!

  • you are ugly

  • ...to real men, she looks just fine!

  • Thanks, real man!!

  • You're very welcome :)

PS. You dont want to know how I open the older coconuts. LOL. I drill into them with a drill, drain the juice (and drink it of course) and then I put it on a concrete floor and smash it with a big hammer. It works but seems kind of a violent way for a poor coconut to go. Any easier way of opening those? Thanks :)

  • To each his own.

  • I just come back from Barbados and went coconut picking along the beach. I took a long wooden stick and poked them down myself. They taste so great when you open them up straight from the tree.

  • I could only image. Yummmmmm!

  • I LOVE YOU!!

  • Thank you!

  • I can not find a young coconut only the old hairy ones at the grocery store any hints?

  • Where do you live?

Whole Foods market usually carries young coconut.

    Also, try to get organic.

  • Cool! Alot easier than the way I used to do it :). now why is the inside of the coconut this lavender pinkish/purplish hue??

  • its perfect but ihave a question

can i eat this on the coconut

it looks like the inside from the coconut ??

  • Yes you can.

  • Thanks it's not great but useful.

  • omg it looks so fun ^^

  • It is fun and it tastes so great!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I thought I was going to go crazy trying to open my coconut. I can't believe how easy it was. You're awesome!

  • the best and coolest way to drink a young coco is to shave off all of the white stuff ubtil its completely bare, there is a hole on the bottom that is covered by a thin membrane that you can stick a straw in or you can do like me and drink it directly out of the coconut, i pretend im sipping from mother natures breast!! ha ha soooooo goooood

  • These are young coconuts and are sold as is. The outer shell of the coconut is green and it is shucked off and sent out to the markets.
