  • I LOVE THOSE GUYS.... THEY MADE A GAME WHICH GIVES POSITIVE ENERGY...... IT REFRESHES LIFE....... GOOD JOB EA..... WE ARE WAITING FOR MIRRORS EDGE2

  • @FruityLoopsas Yes, I hope they make it after Battlefield 3

  • Tom Farrer you ROCK!!! Great Game!! I Wish i had a job like he does , Producing Games, Designing Games, Game Models , Coding a Actual Game Lol... Mirror's Edge Rocks!!! I Cant Wait till i get it!

  • It looks good but...

    It's not an open-world...

    It's a first person perspective...

    So I think I won't get it.

  • an open world is never the best.

I don't think you understand what a good game is. Take for an example - assassins creed. IMO the game got fucked up because of the open world variety. I stopped playing halfway through, because I realized all the missions I have done are constantly repeating themselves, ABSOLUTELY NO variety whatsoever.

  • Open-world environments and sandbox games are always making a game last longer.

I have Assassin's Creed and it's amazing. I tried Mirror's Edge demo. It was good but it wasn't what I was looking for.

  • Don't mistake open-world and repetition. A game can be a said "closed" world and have missions or levels that repeat themselves... And you can also have open-world games that offer a lot of variety.

  • we're talking about 2 games in particular and not in general about "open world" games. In situations like AC, open world ruined it, as I said before. The game was good for first 2 hours. Mirrors Edge was linear but at least better (not mentioning that I actually have finished Mirrors Edge, and not like AC that sits in my shelf not even used :))

  • That's your opinion. I prefer open-worlds. Imagine if AC would be the exact same, but you just can't go wherever you want to go, you just have to follow a certain path to all your things... You wouldn't be able to explore, free-running would almost be pointless...

"Closed" world hits a game's replayability badly.

  • That's Spiderman he's on about with the ten pizza's in he? I hope the game isn't similair to that, because I got bored of it after a while and you can do more with him with all the web and that.

  • i want a job like that

  • i know right, running around for money, a mail man of sorts

  • is that now open world or what? i hope like in assassins creed and not following a gay way xd

  • He already said it isn't completely openworld. You're going to have a point you need to reach, but you'll have a whole lotta ways to get there.

  • It looks great, but it prob would be better as a free roam or similar. Cause people will still move on with the story, but u can have fun while doing that. I mean whos gonna be running across roofs n sliding down ropes n stuff, then suddenly think, I know, i wanna deliver 10 pizzas lol. Still the game looks amazing

  • assasins creed future first person twist ?

  • sterile! that was the world I was searching for!

bright colors... yea tats why it looks like a dream

  • whoa! my first impression is that it looks like a fuckign DREAM! WOW! very impressive.

and its futuristic without the pre-apocalyptic style. (like gears o' war, resistance or even MGS4 or BF 2142. I mean clear skies n stuff.)

It looks JUST like one of my dreams.

  • I have had the same dream...

  • ya I jump and stuff, but at the end I always die! (of falling)

that feeling is soo cool. you fall... and BANG you are in your bed. I mostly open my eyes.

    like "Mad world":

"The dreams in which I am dying are the BEST I've ever had"

  • aye me too... in scary dreams i never die i just freak out, if youve ever seen fred's videos(the fred withthe squeaky voice n stuff) its exactly like that but instead of his spastic humor its all this freaky shit happening... i love dreams that look like this where your running and stuff and sometimes people chase you... but in most of them i end up stealing and stuff and then i wake up and realize i dont have all the cool shit i stole =(

  • Once I found my wirst watch I lost 2 years ago. I was happy and then I woke up and I was like:

    FUUUUUUCK

  • wait doe anyone know when its coming out? and wat platforms suport it?

  • 360, ps3, PC

and its not TBA 2008, but if it is coming out this year, it will probably be near Xmas

  • i see white xD

  • It'd be cool if once you've completed the game you could free roam the city. It still looks awesome though.

  • Its not an open typed world so you cant just go jumping around the city where ever you want there is a limit....for different missions and ect.

  • ....until maybe you complete the game. =)

  • man i wanna work in dice studios

  • yeah mee too. this guy is so cool. the way he explains the concept.I think is a bless to work on a game like this.

  • Same goes for me. I'd like to work at DICE.

(I am only 13 years old though)

  • No, it ain't out yet. It's coming this year.

  • is this game out yet?

  • i've often thought "Oh im gonna deliver 10 pizzas!"

  • rofl

  • does any1 kno wen dis is comin out?

  • Learn to speak english

  • After their success with Mirrors Edge, they should really think about creating a similar game with the clean city and everything, but make it open world. Parkour, Guns, and Tall buildings. Perfect game too me.

  • I think the same thing it would be the best sand-box game ever!!!=]

  • i totally agree!

  • Dice needs to release a simple map editor.

  • ok now i KNOW this game's gonna be good. they researched on the game breakdown that all i need 2 hear. that game was the most underrated game of all time even i almost overlooked it.

  • You hear that, people? Even the renowned Tetsuya109 almost overlooked it! Almost.

  • The game looks incredible i realy never seen anything like it before in my gaming life This is a Huge step forward for Video games and more than one reason to be proud to be a gamer. :D

  • maan no open world?!?! that's the thing i love about games is the freedom. but u kno, great physics is good to! lol at the end there, it's about feeling it :P

  • Lol we have to feel her ...then he does the boob grabbing gesture its fucking hillarious

  • what time does he say this??

  • Dice rules

  • lol i thought it was funny at the end "its about feeling how to move"

well at least we have a game that lets us simulate moving. now we no longer need to do that.

but no jokes im looking forward to no longer having to move in real life. this game looks great.

  • this is my cup of tea but i wish it was open world

  • A fighting/parcour/on a massive scale/shooter/Amaizeing graphics.....This game will surely give a reason why you need a ps3

  • or a 360 or a PC

  • @sashc777 spelled parkour yeah french words are weird

  • in other words, sonic the hedgehog played as hot Asian girl, in an updated 3d environment : P

  • Y'know...I could really go for some pizza delivering right about now... :D

  • Go Sweden!

  • Cool, a first person shooter where developers use their brain instead of going with everyone else. I mean, how immersive or 'real' is a shooter where you only see part of a gun and nothing else at either of your hips. And they simply crank the graphics up to 'improve the realism'. It'll be nice to play something different.

  • This looks pretty good, thanks for the up man.

It envolve a GUN, you dont use it much but you can get one, Faith use one on the trailer.

  • The free-running element is looking great. I love how you have to build and maintain momentum. As a free-runner, this always bothered me in Assassin's Creed.

  • It's not really Free-running in this game, it's more Parkour then anything.

  • Erm... same thing?

  • Free Running is fundamentally the same as Parkour, but focusing more on being pleasing to the eye.

A general summary (although not totally accurate) would be :

Parkour - Getting from point A to point B in the most efficient manner, using any means neccessary and basicallg ignoring any and all obstacles in your path by navigating them in a swift and fluid manner.

Free Running - Parkour with flips/eye pleasing movements.

  • Thx For saying it so i dont have to XD

  • "it's not an open world game"

that killed it for me, I wanted nothing more than to know that.

  • lets hope they come to there senses

  • Again, I don't think that an open world environment is crucial, or even going to be a plus in a game like this. Look at Gears of War. That game is amazing, and think how terrible it would have been in a great big world. It's plot driven, and it's also a great way of putting the gamer in situations that's going to make them think; how many times have you been able to escape in Assassin's Creed, simply by running as fast as you can in one direction?

  • Man go fuck yourself. Take that Failstaion 3 controller shove it up your ass, and press the fire button. If you own a seX-box do the same. Free environments are the best. Your just jealous the almighty computer over powers consoles :D

  • Why do those two things have anything in common? And besides, that's not really a response to what i said, more a serious of obscene requests which will inevitably end in pain for me.

  • anyone else think the devs exaggerated the protaginists eyes? i mean i realize she's asian, but c'mon, my asian friends dont even have eyes like that

  • damn looks kinda like "parcour" i always wanted a game like this =)

  • Parkour

  • Again, same thing. I'm just not sure on the spelling, cus the french comes from "par coeur", meaning "by heart", implying the flowing, instinctive movements.

  • I thought the French spelling was either "parcour," or "par cour," which, if I remember right, means reach, or escape. I'm not sure what context you were saying this, though.

I like your idea of "flowing, instinctive movements," though, and I really like it that they are implementing it in the game; especially the part about maintaining the momentum, rather than going from zero to full speed in one go.

  • faisalhalim: im no expert, but i thought that reach was portee (with an accent on the first e), and escape was fuite, but i could be wrong.

  • actually parcour means a "path" or "course" as in "obstacle course"

  • its parkour- and its to get over an obstacle and keep the same momentum.

  • the sport is called parkour but its from the word parcour. Someone must have though that a "k" instead of a "c" was cooler :p

  • dude parkour is not a sport

  • Tell that to the pros XD

  • and your mother is a bitch.

  • O yes, now, how did I forget that? :-?

  • your both wrong parkour si an art and a disicpline

  • Ha ha ha!

Art and discipline for? You might as well go ahead and complete that thought. Just state that it is an art of displacement.

Just so you know, we're talking about the meaning of the word parkour, not over what parkour is.

  • read bout this on urban freeflows website.

can any1 comment on my page tell me wot consoles u can get it on and when its out.

  • a vague release date, 'late 2008'

available on ps3 360 and pc

  • it will probably be delayed no doubt

  • Trust me people, ive had my eye ame for a on this game for a while now and I think its gonna be one of the best fps games ever made.

  • its not an fps just fp

  • True, although it does have some gunplay in it.

  • man your fucking stupid. It would still be called a fucking FPS if it does not involve a gun.

  • would it? so if they made a game and we only had a sword they would call it a fps?

  • If they didn't screw it up, yeah.

That sounds like a difficult concept to do well though.

The trick to success: Do something unique and don't screw it up.

After thinking a moment longer, see also Oblivion, or the Jedi games. Not exactly sword in one case or fps in the other, but it's been done and done fairly well.

  • A first person shooter - FPSs are distinguished by a first person perspective, that renders the game world from the visual perspective of the player character.

    You don't need a gun. It's simply a name.

  • I think it does need a gun. After all, it's a shooter. I would call this a FPP, first person platformer.

  • Except that you can get a gun in this.

It's not the focus, but it's there.

  • Nescirian: Yeah, I spose, but again, its not the focus. I always thought that the key part of an FPS was the S part, and this just ain't a shooter.

  • Statistically, the S is one third the name. That leaves two thirds compliance: enough to override even a veto from the community. Fortunately, the community agrees with the FPS usage, so no need to overrule anything.

But I'm being pedantic for the fun of it, really. You have a fair point, it just happens to be wrong.

  • it should be a FPP game. (First Person Perspective) A new game type!

  • lol "wer not in 1984" lol

  • yes the trailer looks cool

  • oh my pokachu This game loooks soooooo goooooooood @_@ The look of it reminds me of indigo prophecy mmmmm. Thanks for the uppy!

  • Wow! as a parkourist myself this game excites me alot. I really hope that after you beat the main game story line you do get open world capabilities.

  • i doubt that man, they wouldn't give you the oppertunity to free roam unless it was part of the main game. by the sounds of it, this game seems like it's going to be pretty linear but aslong as it's a long game and full of 'oh shit!' moments, i don't mind. in the end i'm sure that parkour + fps = awesome

  • But wouldn't it be amazing where you can just maybe postpone your current mission, climb down, & mix with people on the streets? Like in the trailer where Faith leaps unto the red pole on 00.50? Jesus,It would be a dream to do so.

  • Abebil: I'm not so sure. I think that the main element of the game is going to be a pursuit type thing, so getting from point A to point B ASAP is what's going to drive you, not a world of open interaction.

  • Touché! Faith's a runner afterall, escaping from the police.Thanks! :D

  • awesome new way of first person view

  • This game is known to cause vertigo and simulation sickness

  • its not out yet...

  • PLAY magazine interview bro..I know it ain't out yet..my bad I didn't say that ..gonna be a heck of a game

  • did play, play it? or did the guy just say that?

  • they got to play the game and the producers themselves said that...ill give you the date of the magazine so you can read it your self.

  • they need to release a game video!

  • totally agree... hey found the magazine its march 2008 issue Mirrors edge cover..u got a 10 page review of the game

  • I guess you mean PREview, review is that they have played the FULL version.

  • oops totally tru my bad XD .. im used to saying review..thx

  • I just saw the game trailer bro

  • when i read this in a ps3 mag y day i was like holy shit defo watching out for this one but im a lil worried that it will either be cancelled or they say the game will be free running when its only the beginning part of the game and you spend half of it inside or it will be 5 hours long or it will be like another fps (which we dont need) where it is just guns butmade to look like it aint

  • its supposed to have a hl2 feel to it , action and sound wise

  • its gonna be a great game for sure ;D cant wait for it xD

  • This game will rock so damn hard!

  • aaaa i love parkour

  • hell yeah....parkour is once again in an video game...awesomeness

  • More?

Certainly used to be true, but what with some games now having to be installed(!) on consoles, that looks to change.

Anyway, 99.9% of all 360 games get ported to the PC pretty fast, and we're seeing the death of format exclusives, now.

    Also, Crysis. Yum <3

  • isnt they whispers that crysis is coming to the ps3?

  • Not in a million years, mate.

There isn't a PC card out there that can max crysis, and the PS3 simply wouldn't have enough RAM to carry it in it's full graphical splendour. And lets face it, the gameplay isn't great, it's the ultimate expression of graphics coming first!

  • yes it wouldnt be no where as good graphics but there is , or was, rumors.

  • Rumours made by PS3 fanboys.

Anyway, you wouldn't want it, Crysis -is- graphics, the gameplay is irrelevant (and a little bit rubbishy)

  • yes i know, i wouldnt get it.

those rumors, werent made by ps3 fanboys, they were on all the gaming sites.

do you have a good comp?

  • no way crysis will run on console but the romour is that there using crytek engine 2 for a different less stunning graphics game :D

  • But... Crysis IS graphics, if you want gameplay, far cry is much nicer.

  • Yeah, I agree. If Crysis didn't have those awesome graphics, it wouldn't be that good. Especially since the vehicle section is horrible. Blargh.

  • i no when this game comes out

it 14th of January 2009 i was on the site

hope this has ansewed people questions....

  • That seems like the kind of time one would dump a bad game on the market. A game like this they couldn't have crammed development and released 3 weeks earlier for the big Christmas sales?

  • why cant anybody make instant gratification weird abstract games anymore? its like all game designers are trying to make stuff totally realistic, take 20 hours to play and everybody looks like a stereoided cyber warrior

    new videogames frankly really suck.

  • so you want to have games like pac man? and space invaders?

  • how about the way games were in the last generation of consoles, they were more colorful, had more own ideas, except for all those fucking ww2 shooters, i still wonder who really liked them, a lot of people must have liked them, but i didnt know any of them, and in the magazines i read they were also bashing them, even cod2 for being that kind of game.

  • , you do have a point all the games that are coming out are just about dark shooters kill zone 2 etc and copys of each other, but a game like THIS is a new idea

  • I agree, man. Level (Swede videogame magazine) quoted the producer kinda like this;

"The last few years of FPS games have had "dirt" as it's main theme. We're so bloody sick of that and wanted to make something new."

  • croc was amazing

  • croc? that old old platformer?

  • Why not?

Old games aren't crap, like you seem to beleive, nor is this game original.

It looks pretty damn good, but not original. Originality should be there to back up and expand old ideas, it's the only way to progress.

Having said that, I would rather like to own this game, pity it's on PS3.

  • ummm? why is it a pity? its coming out on 360 pc and ps3, and i never said croc was crap, i liked it.

  • Pity it's only on PS3 and 360 then.

    It's a pity becuase I'm not a console 'tard.

  • but a pc tard? why does it matter?

  • The term 'PC tard' is an oxmoron.

Regardeless, it is a pity because I have no wish to play this on a console, but think it would be rather nifty on PC.

  • yes but it will be just the same on pc (maybe better graphics if you have a good one) as the consoles...

  • If it comes out for PC.

Also, Maybe? The 360 has 512MB of RAM, and the PS3 uses an overclocked card that was new 3 years ago.

    Woo for PCs!

  • lol do you hate consoles?

  • Funnily enough, no, not really.

I just love my PC! <3

  • yes but it really doesnt matter, comps can get better graphics, but maybe more hassle just playing them, although lots of games are just going to the consoles,

  • Yah, a game like this shouldn't be chained up due to no free-roam, because I can tell you that if this game had free-roam it could easily turn into hundreds upon hundreds of hours of fun, unique gameplay. Take it out and you get another well, game, with a story and once you beat it, on the shelves it goes. Starting to seem like a rent/return game > a buy and play over a long period of time. GTA is open world and it works fine. You don't need mapped routes to have a good storyline.

  • yes people are saying it will be like assassins creed 1st person, but it cant be if its NOT free roaming

  • I love freerunning/parkour and I'm sadly already both excited and disappointed in the game being released. Making a game like this without freeroam is just dumb....thats what the players want is a free roam game and also, you dont need guns.....take out the weaponry please. Lastly, a customizable character would be kinda nice. not necessarily but definatly a perk.....and wait what about online play....im not expecting anything above a 3 out of 5

  • i dont think they said the main char had any guns

  • Could care less about MP or customizable characters - this game looks like the kind that will just have a great story and great gameplay.

In regards to the guns, although I agree you shouldn't carry a gun in the game - if enemies are shooting at you (which is logical) it would only make sense if you could disarm them and shoot back.

Free roam I guess would be nice for a second mode. but the story mode I don't want to get lost or run off-path 2 miles in the wrong direction. I want story. :)

  • ReleaseThe Bears. I don't think Youtube is the place to rant about it. Maybe send them a mail. If a couple of thousand people have the same view as you maybe they'll change a few aspects of the game.

  • They should let you open up a free roam mode after you beat it or something...

  • haha not always. in my opinion leon from RE4 is aweasome and also is kratos from GoW3. also Dante or Nero from DMC4. there are lots of aweasomne characters

  • WHY THE HELL CANT IT BE AN OPEN WORLD?! I sure hope they change that... it would be a stupid idea to make a game like this without a free roam aspect!

  • lets hope they change there mind, they dont have to put pizzas in if they dont want to!

  • if they made it open world, the storyline would suffer, i mean, i love open world games like Just Cause, but they obviously really want to tell a story that may be good, so to do that, you have to sacrifice an open world environment, and maybe they'll have it so that you unlock the city as an open world when you complete the story mode.

  • yes that would be a good way because lots of games just get boring re playing the levels

  • I'll take better story over open world any day.

  • this looks fucking awesome, hopfully there will be actually a gameplay video

  • yumm 10 pizza's

  • Sweden rules !!! Oh yeah, this gonna be nice!

  • This is like parkour.

  • If I want to stop halfway through the game and deliver ten pizzas, I'll stop halfway through and deliver ten pizzas, damnit.

  • yes, because lately just about all the games {apart from a RPG here and there} have been shorter then a pizza delivery!

  • yeah game good when first played but maybe get boring extremely quickly

  • sic game!

  • this looks awesome can't wait til it comes out
