  • Lottery win.....

  • Sure an Italian exotic is the same price. Hovever, add in servicing costs, consider the lack of depreciation and divide the total by the number of miles driver ..... suddenly the Bristol costs 80% less than the pretty Italian toy.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Italian cars. They have their place as idols for our ambition. My point is that you have to factor in Bristol usability when weighing up their value.

  • Bristol are an odd company that produce cars you rarely see. Those two reasons are enough to make them desireable. Add in the fact that for any given period they were fast luxurious and PRACTICLE day cars and you have a great combo.

  • I love Bristol having first come across one when the big V8 thumped passed me and my mum as a 12 year year old. It was that experiance that led me to buy a type 409 project 30 years later.

  • awful, truly awful...

  • なんともいえない良い味が出てる、上品な高級車。イギリスならではですね。

  • I love that blue series 6

  • Nice Video, I do like Bristol cars. My Dad had a 403 (1954) for years which he was restoring. I seem to remember a wind tunnel test on a 401 or 403 in the late 70s or early 80s (I think) which rated the car in the top 10 most aerodynamic cars in the world. Not bad for a car designed in the early 50s. No door handles outside, just a flat button. It looked like it was doing a 100mph just standing still. and tha lovely old straight 6 engine with its strange valve setup.. Used in Formula 2 I believe

  • I go past this (now defunct) showroom every other day when I walk from Hammersmith to Kensington. It's great to see these cars but the Directors' comments that they sell in a niche market proved their undoing. Shame really but if I come up on the lottery there's a 409 in the window that's mine!

  • @HighCrystal Bristol have gone then??

  • @Dav123xyz No the Showrooms still operating and they have 4 cars there, but as you know the company went into administration.

  • @HighCrystal I DIDN'T know....thanks for the reply.

  • I like Bristol Cars, both the Blenheim and Fighter. I would love to see how the stillborn Buccaneer would have turned out. I also think they would make a great 4 door car. I fully appreciate that some people don't like them and some people don't understand them but some of the comments are not very intelligent. Why is the UK so full of stupid people? Try growing up!

  • All the talk about them been "aerospace" etc in build quality might be true if they made "hand gliders" !! They should be ashamed of themselves.

This is typical of why so many british companies are going bust . too much "Lovely day , lets have a cup of tea " mentality going on. If i had money I would bring "Jensen " back with a great engine and running gear etc

Next time I go past the kensington showroom I will pick my nose and wipe it across the window.

  • Thank God they have gone Bust !!

Shit cars made for rich people with that "I want to appear to be a little strange" thing going on. The cars are built to a quality shared with the "North Yorkshire Kit car club " 1973. The interiors are a disaster . Nothing about the fighter is good. Its got a wanky Yanky engine etc . These are not British. The wanker who ran the show needs a good kicking and a few years working in Halfords . Seems he would be at home there..... been rude and selling shit

  • @karmachasescathy

I agree. I'm amazed they existed for so long when far more innovative manafacturers have long gone out of business. Truly a relic.

  • I've never seen the fighter in real life but I have seen someone trying to get out of a gull wing door car in a space between two cars. It was not a pretty sight.

  • 0:22 i sooo want that car.

  • What a lovely old school company they are. In the unlikely event that I am ever in the market for a car in this sort of price bracket, I'll pay their London showrooms a visit. Thank you for posting this.

  • very nice video

    very nice cars !!!

  • The fighter is 250,000 pounds, or like $400,000. You can get a lamborghini murcielago SV which is very hand built for that much. Check out the special of the lambo factory. Or check out a rolls royce factory tour... i bet lambos and rolls royce are as hand built as these things are.

  • @omegaslast

You are quite wrong. The Bristols were built quite literally by hand. The factory looked little different to a well equiped car restoration company. You will find that the high prestige italian marks are very modern by comparison with some truely cutting edge tech to hand.

You will need to look to someone like Noble to find a similar setup.

  • I want one!
