i just got the same mobo and processor as my computer just died. just to ask, your hard drive cage infront or behind, whichever way u look at it, has got those fans, does that come with the case or did you add that yourself?
the title of this video is about GAMING rig, but this pc is my main pc.. not a second one for gaming only.
about the graphic card, well its the only 'old' component inside my pc. i was waiting for the new Nvidia cards, but i think i will go for the 5870 instead
stil man should change the title to my i5 pc for under blah blah, when you title a video gaming rig, it's got to be one like for real. Unless this is your 1st time building a pc on a tight budget then its understandable.
plus list the important specs not the model or series of parts.
This is no gaming RIG Oo. Mainboard, CPU, Power Supply are far too expensive. And whatfor RAID 0? It gives u nothing but trouble. The most important thing for gaming is the Graphic Card and your HD 4850 is simply too weak. And i wouldnt recommend Crossfire.
Phenom II x4 945, HD 5850, 500W Power Supply and a MSI 770-C45 would be the better choice...
because it's an i5 dude and it's in titled gaming rig not 3d rendering machine. if the cheapest C2D is 15/11% slower and at 80% TDP (which most games push it too) then the i7 920. What do you think? Your basically blowing dough for nothing.
If you get a C2D without even O.Cing it keeping at 38c, with 1066 DDR2 CAS 3 and SLI your vids, it comes out to the same thing but spending 900 bucks less. Which with that money you can get 2 SSDs and RAID them. not 2 SATAs .
well true, but i5 and "i" series is a lot faster in most cases then older core 2's. having an i5 gives the person more freedom to do more demanding apps
Yeah but he's obviously not building a gaming rig for other apps, besides even if that was the case you still don't get over 40%, you'll hit the 29 to 34 range. Which then you could just switch to a C2Q and OC it for kicks. You'll get the same numbers again. Now a i7 or the next "i9" with DDR3 1800+ with an SSD MLC and bring the i7 temp down to 35c Now that would be a beast. But that would be a little bit too much when 1 year of waiting would fix that.
thx man ;) .... in 2 mouths i get the same cpu :X ....and i have an asus ati radeon 4850 1gb/256bit .... but i have no idea which mb get with this cpu ...sorry for my engish :D
@sesvn Hey dude, looks like a cool build, but if you are going for a low cost machine with great performance, try upping that xfx ati 4870 to something in the radeon 5000 series, if you want something low-cost with good performance then I suggest going with AMD if you aren't someone who needs to have an intel-based machine. Anyways, hope your build comes out good!
r u talking about the new 300 series card? If so we can expect about 400 for the cheapest i say because nvidia is always more then ati with a little bit better power but ati is the best right now with DX11 with the most support and experience so far

Thanks Pedelt.
Your burst rate seems a little low, but your average read looks very good. Guess the single platters make a big difference.

i am very confused i have a tight budget and going to build a budgeted pc. here are the specs:
CPU: core i5 750 2.66 ghz
Motherboard: intel DP55wb
Ram: 4Gb ddr3
GPU:xfx ati 4870
Hard Drive: 1TByte
Power Supply: coller master 600watts

imsososogreat 2 years ago
yep.
the "native support" is 1333, but you can use anything you like if the M/B supports it
im using my 1600cas7 @ 2000MHZ 8-9-8-24
pedelt 2 years ago
thanks! do you think there is much gain over 1333? cos i could either get 4 gig 1600
