it depends on what type of black metal you're listening to. there is medolic black metal which isn't really heavy, then there is black death metal which is kinda the same as satanic death metal... but i don't know nothing is really that heavy anyway, faster doesn't make it heavy,and neither does heavy accented notes. so this "HEAVY" thing you're looking for is in reality non existent....
Black metal isn't heavy, I don't believe anyone ever told me that when i first heard it. But you know what, most other genres of metal are not as heavy as death metal, take thrash or power metal for instance. Death metal is the most heavy, and that's the point of it. So naturally everything not death metal is going to sound less heavy. Get it? Okay, don't complain about music not being cool because it isn't heavy, broaden your view on music!

Actually its called Black Metal, lyrical topics are not music, just opinion. And therefore have no place in the naming of MUSICAL genres. Occultist black metal, pfft. Might as well call it Fluffy Caterpillar Black Metal. Means about the same thing.
Christian music is just any genre that sings about christ. Its still rock or whatever else, and I don't believe in naming a musical genre based on something that isn't musical. Lyrics are used in music that's for sure, but lyrics are a type of poem, and really don't have anything to do with the composition of a song. A black metal band still sounds like black metal no matter what they sing about.

it depends on what type of black metal you're listening to. there is medolic black metal which isn't really heavy, then there is black death metal which is kinda the same as satanic death metal... but i don't know nothing is really that heavy anyway, faster doesn't make it heavy,and neither does heavy accented notes. so this "HEAVY" thing you're looking for is in reality non existent....

But you know what, most other genres of metal are not as heavy as death metal, take thrash or power metal for instance. Death metal is the most heavy, and that's the point of it. Christian music is just any genre that sings about christ. Its still rock or whatever else, and I don't believe in naming a musical genre based on something that isn't musical. Lyrics are used in music that's for sure, but lyrics are a type of poem, and really don't have anything to do with the composition of a song. A black metal band still sounds like black metal no matter what they sing about.

But what makes that music different from other musics in its respective genres? Satanic rap still sounds like rap, what does being satanic, or any other lyrical topic, have to do with its musical sound? What importance is there to lyric choice in black metal? Sing about whatever, its about expression not limits.

@Njordwarrior youre missing the point. the difference it makes is that their beliefs are different than another's. sure it may not seem that it matters, but look more into it and youll see that the lyrics are part of a driving force to what makes a song what it is intended to be. if music was only about the guitars, bass, and drum skills, then they wouldve dropped the singer long ago. simply put, its best to hear a song and try to understand what its about, which is only by knowing the lyrics.
