They are there for our guest's peace of mind and safety. We do take care to make sure we keep the Sandpiper Beacon a safe, and above all FUN place to be - and the security staff is not obtrusive in any way. @FlamingFalcons we have had a tropical storm blow a lot of seaweed in earlier this month, but it's all cleared up now :) Our beaches are beautiful!
