Looking back on all of this, I'm sure they wish that hadn't fired anybody. These were probably the most truthful and sincere words Sampson uttered all day during his testimony. It's been a world of hurt for them ever since.
And the least truthful and sincere words were 122 incidences of "I don't recall." Not too bright, or just lying, a loser either way. Boy, are republicans stupid! "Elephants never forget. Unless they're under oath."
I like the elephant quote; I've never heard it before. I may have to co-opt it in the future. :) --"I don't recall" is a classic retort when trying to advoid perjury charges. Libby used it extensively, as have numerous questionable government officials in the past. Call me naive, but I expect the people charged with governing America to not only know what they are doing, but also remember what they have done.
