  • Miss you papa <3

  • We will miss you, Killer. You are one of a kind and NO ONE will ever take your place in our hearts. Thanks for the memories.

  • A prayer for Harmon: Dear God, However my games end, let me always have fun and if Heaven has All Stars, I want to be one. When my games here are over and my seasons are done, let me play on your team. just like your son. ~ Amen.

  • Us in Payette, Idaho will never forget you killer, R.I.P Harmon.

  • Thanks for the memories Harmon........You were a gentle giant......and I don't mean in stature as much as i mean demeanor.....RIP

  • Thanks, Harmon. You knew how to play it straight.

Our tragedy is that now, the kids are watching drug cheats and prima donnas.

    And there's no alternative.

  • Rest in peace. You were one of the greatest players I ever. I'm glad that I got to see you play, in person, on more than one occasion in my life.

  • r.i.p killer and great music.

now i gotta go find that red seat.

  • Thank you Harmon for all the great moments.

  • RIP Harmon Killebrew 1936-2011

  • Harmon was and will forever be a class act.He was at our minor league park a few years ago and did not do just the line em up sign em up thing. He stayed late and mingled with the fans right in the stands.I heard the news today and was saddened. One of baseballs greatest will be gone soon but our memories of those days will live in us.Pax domine sit semper vobiscum Harmon.

  • Great tribute. You're right Harmon is the greatest Twin. He showed up at Spring Training last week while fighting cancer. Looked great ...hope all goes well for him.

  • I'll never forget the first time I saw Harmon Killebrew in person. When he came to the plate, he just took your breathe away. He looked like he had muscles on his muscles! I couldn't imagine a player more muscular than Mickey Manlle, but there he was. And like Mantle when he swung the crowd was always on the edge of their seats. Even a Killebrew swing and a miss was exciting, let alone a monster home run.

Can you imagine Harmon Killebrew on steroids? For sure he didn't need them.

  • The Batter on the Major League Baseball logo!

  • Rod Carew once said that he learned a great deal about being a major leaguer from watching Killebrew's day-in, day-out example -- particularly how Harmon's emotions remained steadily positive, and how he never criticized his teamates, nor beat up on himself after a bad day --

  • Nice work. I.m sure Mr. Killebrew would appreciate it. I was just today looking at my dad's jr. and senior high school annuals from Payette, Id. as they were the same age. I suppose I have some of the first autographs he ever signed.

  • My grandpa Hubert Killebrew is Harmons first cousin.

  • born where i grew up, Payette Idaho

  • @blacknick21 amen to that. the greatest little town in the world

  • he is like my grandpas cousin or something!!!!

  • 1955?? What has this got to do with 1955? The Twins didn't move from Washington until the early 60's. 1961, I think.

  • wow youre wrong

  • no, i'm not.

  • It didn't make any difference if the Twins were behind 15-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning. If Killebrew was due to hit, you stayed in your seat.

  • Man was baseball fun when he played!

  • @VandalRoy Yeah my Dad always says "Man baseball was good in those days"
