I've worked for over 10 years with Hal and Sidra Stones books (thank goodness for bibliotherapy) which demonstrate how to work with what they call subpersonalities, or energy patterns or inner selves. Your video has greatly improved my abilities to do this valuable work and I look forward to getting on with it much more easily and quickly. Thank you.
thanks for the video. Definely youtube and the internet needs more resources to help people understand how to heal themselves, such as nonviolent communication, resorative justice and internal family systems.
Very helpful for a therapist in training. I only wish that the IFS workshops and conferences weren't so expensive. I'll rely on your videos for now. Thanks for posting!
Great video! I'm excited that there are youtube resources we can use to help people understand these concepts. I like the little blips with graphics and music :)
Ugh. Good question, I was looking for a username that would reflect some content about therapy so found Derek Therapist (in my mind). I had not realised that when there is no space it can read as Derek The Rapist until it was too late.
I really like this idea. I was seeing a psychoanalist for a while, but it wasn't working out. I felt like it was just me rambling without getting anywhere.
This system makes a lot more sense, and I think I'll try it out. Thanks for posting.
I'm confused, though - why is your username "derek the rapist"?
Interesting, and I always learn something from your videos. In this one it stood out to me that the Managers and Firefighters are polarized....don't know why I didn't see that before. I think it helps to know that :O) Thanks!
I miss you and hope you soon run into a shitstorm so you are forced to consult me again. The video is lovely, especially the hilarious little musical diversions. I had a part that was triggered by the implication that one could unburden alone. I have yet to meet anyone who could do that. But niggling aside, you are a boon to the IFS community, and I am crazy about you.
superb. thank you. btw u have a nice voice :)
