  • I see that although Voddie got his information correct, he got sucked into this argument. The biblical mandate is focused on the order of church and home, not politics. He should have focused on that.

I was glad that he spoke truth to Margaret's incorrect assessment of Ephesians and the other gals account on Deborah. If your going to attack someones principles, make sure you get the facts straights. Personally, this charade just showed why Voddie's argument about women is valid. Too bad most p

  • Voddie is right, the horrendous sexist perspective is exactly what the Bible says. Stop twisting the Bible to fit reality, it is a dreadful text that says what it says. It advocates discrimination against gays, women etc. Stop twisting it to accord with the more modern and just world we now live in, you cannot deny its contents.

If you know in your heart that such discrimination is wrong, might I suggest you rethink the whole Bible and Christianity thing?

  • go Voddie Go!

  • Should Sarah Palin submit to her husband Todd, who wants her to take on a leadership role, or should she submit to Voddie Baucham?

  • Wow that red-haired creature ought to be silent and repent. The Bible is clear that women ought to have long hair 1 Cor 11, typical rebel, may MARGARET repent.

  • Preach on brother! May the Lord be glorified and feminism destroyed.

  • Simply wonderful. To God be the Glory! Those women tried to use scripture out of context and he put them right back into context. Good stuff!

  • Wow, excellent display reverend Baucham. I have total respect for his unwavering stand for truth. Awesome.

  • Dr. Voddie Baucham, Jr. knows exactly what he's talking about. Thanks for not folding under social pressure Dr Baucham and upholding the truth. It is refreshing to see such an educated man of God ready with rational answers.

  • What a brave stand for the truth, even if it is not popular. I am very moved by Dr. Bachum's honest exposition of the text. This is what a hermenutical, exegetical approach to the original Greek text will bring you to every time. The truth, without confusion.

  • I wonder how he feels about gays?

  • I wonder how he feels about gays?

If Reverend Voddie is as consistent with all scripture, as he claims to be here in this interview, then I'm sure he doesn't approve of homosexual activity. I'm sure as with all sin, he will tell you that anyone who is involved in this sort of behavior is in violation of God's law. Also I'm sure that he would say, that in true repentance, anyone can be forgiven.

  • I wonder how he feels about selfish?

If Reverend Voddie is as consistent with all scripture, as he claims to be here in this interview, then I'm sure he doesn't approve of any seafood restaurant. I'm sure as with all sin, he will tell you that anyone who is involved in this sort of behaviour is in violation of God's law. Also I'm sure that he would say, that in true repentance, anyone can be forgiven.

Being gay is natural, like eating shellfish so I'm sure the book just got those parts wrong.

  • "Being gay is natural, like eating shellfish so I'm sure the book just got those parts wrong. "

If you would really look into this instead of speculating, you would soon learn that modern Med. Md"s are constantly amazed at how God's instructions over 3,500 yrs. ago are consistent with what we know about healthy foods, and unhealthy foods. To be honest I never really looked into this until you brought this up, and thanks to you my faith has been strengthened this morning.

  • (cont) If such creatures weren't designed to be eaten, why did God create them? Dr. Russell explains: "For one thing, they serve a useful role just cleaning up the place. Many unclean animals, however, notably pigs and shellfish, are unhealthy because their diet consists of society's disease-laden refuse.

As is well known, pigs will eat anything and everything. They were designed to clean up decaying flesh and pollution. Pigs have eaten Philly's garbage and sewage for more than 100 years

  • "Even when stacked in cages, piglets thrive on offal when only the pig in the top cage receives food. Farmers have increased their profits by feeding free raw sewage to pigs. Chicken farmers often keep a hog so they can dispose of dead chickens without having to bury them" (Russell, p. 81).

  • Some species of fish and shellfish perform a similar role in an aquatic environment. Dr. Russell notes that "among commonly eaten fish, catfish . . . always show the highest levels of contamination in chemically polluted water. After chemical spills, local fishermen are warned not to eat catfish.

So you see my friend, comparing homosexual behavior, to eating "unclean" meat is not a fair comparison to the context.

If you would like to discuss this further, please P.M. me, good day friend

  • What are single women supposed to do? My parents aren't going to financially support me until Mr. Right comes along so I have to work outside the home. That means situations where people of both sexes are my subordinates and superiors.

  • Pastor Baucham said it correctly. Stick to the scriptures only over the pulpits view.

Politics cannot harmonize with scripture because the scriptures are uncompromising while politics is all about the compromise.

  • "Politics cannot harmonize with scripture because the scriptures are uncompromising while politics is all about the compromise. "

Definitely quoting this. I'll credit you as "tariqshabazz, YouTube user".

  • Thank you hikaze89

  • Thanks Pastor Baucham for your intergrity. You truly are a godly man. Keep proclaiming the truth, and keep the faith.

    Godspeed.

  • He's using the Bible to set our culture back, he probably has some odd things to say about gay people as well, I think we everyone should ignore the old testament all together.

  • Homosexuality isn't pushing our country forward. Homosexuality was a very open practice in the city of Sodom. Homosexuality was also very openly practiced in Rome before it fell.

To say that speaking for the truth of The Bible and against some of todays cultural standards is setting our country back, isn't exactly true.

    Jesus Christ is God.

  • I'm no Palin fan, but evangelicals basing leadership on how well candidates fall within "THEIR" cultural acceptance: picking the best boxer by what their morals are as oppossed to what their policy and plans are got us into this mess with Mr. Illiterate, but im a Texas homebred Christian who doesnt believe in abortion but believes in Red, White and Blue Bush.

  • I think I'll be studying my Bible tonight" --yep, that's exactly what she need to do. And the other "evangelical speaker" should do the same.

  • Capkat3- Voddie was not sexists in this...go back and read and let your study be guided by prayer with God instead of trying to use your own head and your own cultural preferences to figure it out.

  • Sorry CapKat, you're just wrong on this one. Maybe you should study the Bible. Stand on the Word not your prefrences...

  • Yes-voddie was not being sexist, he was reading scripture but God calls us to do more than teach scripture.Christ inspired women to support institutions they have been placed in (family or government).Deborah was a SIGN of Israels troubles but her leadership led them OUT of that judgment-she did not cause it.

Leaders are called according to their rightness with God.Mark 7:5-9 discusses how easily zealots teach their traditions as opposed to exercising God's love.We shouldn't perpetuate that...

  • You go voddie. Our culture does not decide truth, scripture decides scripture.

  • i cant believe that they put Voddie on CNN. I am so happy. Voddie is AMAZING

  • CaptKat3 - Respectfully, the preacher man is dead on with this. It is not sexist to adhere to scripture.

  • @Hoodiyep What if it's sexist to adhere to scripture because scripture is sexist?

  • Jesus was more respectful and approached more women in the Bible then anyone of the Pharisees that abused women and treated them disrespectfully. It is the Gospel that sets people free to love each other and treat each other as equals. The patriarchal fringe who hang on every word Voddie Baucham says use their own standard, tired arguments and, guess what: PRAGMATISM! They don't realize their arguments are based on works and not by how the Spirit works in individuals' personal lives.

  • Voddie is sexist and uses the veil of the Gospel to promote his presuppositions about the Scriptures. Ephesians 5 talks about one-anothering. Voddie was completely disrepectful towards Margaret. Voddie is sloppy and uses one proof-text to subject women to his OWN narrow interpretation. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Here's more Vision Forum patriarchal nonsense.

  • Ephesians 5 does talk about 'one-anothering', but when you get to verse 22 it gets specific! Voddie is RIGHT! He often says, "I don't write the mail -- I just deliver it." I think you need to read the mail very carefully and in CONTEXT!

  • What is the context of the Ephesian church? What cultural context were they dealing with that vs. 22 was issued from them there? Study to show yourself approved, Bible says. Should women still only too learn the Bible from their husbands? What if not married? Apostle Paul was dealing with culture as much as we have to deal with culture. Why did Paul say vs. 22? What was going on in that Ephesian church? Following vs' indicate in they may have been following others besides their "own" husbands.

  • I don't usually write with such mistakes, but getting my point across in this limited format box isn't easy for in-depth discussion.

  • Praise be to God for a man who will stand up for Truth!! Great job Voddie!

  • Voddie rocks!

  • Voddie!!! You are a beacon of truth in a dark world brother! Thanks for your faithfulness.

  • Margaret was brilliant. Too bad we haven't heard more from her on CNN.... We need to see more of this woman.

  • The anchor was quoting a gang of scripture out of context, so was the other woman. This is what happens when we let ANYTHING except Scripture interpret Scripture. Whether it's your personal feelings, what society says is "ok". Voddie stood for the TRUTH of Scripture. Thanks. bye bye

  • illdrums200 - You hit it here! I think CNN made a big deal out of nothing here. But, the passion here needs to be for the integrity of the text. Feinberg totally butchered the text!
