man, I'm from brazil and I just wanna say that all of your lesson helps me a lot!!! I'm a huge SRV fan to!!! and to me, that concert at el mocambo was the best guitar player performance live that I ever saw!!! specially texas flood!!! thanks for the lessons!!!
You are a guitar genius and a truly gifted teacher! I am on your website looking around and WOW is all I can say!!!! I'm subscribing to your channel immediately.
i really shouldnt start my 'guitar journey' with this lick :P good job though loved it !!! since srv is my favorite guitarist ill be wandering on your videos frequently from now on :-)
I know for a fact that some SRV-crazed fan is putting out a killer "best of" CD this summer that's supposed to put all the "greatest hits" albums to shame. The be all, end all of SRV bootlegs. Best live performances, rare jams & soundchecks, interviews, etc. I know the guy. He's releasing it under an alias because the record companies would never allow it. Want me to keep you posted?
Is there a link to the original recording of this, via youtube or something? I found the song on youtube, but not the version you're teaching from, and I'd really like to hear the full original. Thanks in advance for any help.
Speaking of fast licks, you should do a video about the main lick in Scuttle Buttin. I think you're probably one of the only people who could actually pull it off!
@antmann01 ummm,,,,,,Zakk is absolutely the best at what he does, as was Stevie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they both do completely different things on the guitar,,,,,,there is no meaningful way to compare,,,,,both are completely inspirational, both utterly dedicated to their art!
@paulefty That is funny. For those that might be confused, slow blues refers more to the slow tempo and feel, even if the solos are played fast and aggressive.
As always Anthony. Great lesson. Although I have never wanted to copy Stevie lick for lick, you lessons have guided me down some great roads to discovering my own style. THANKS
I saw this title and thought, awesome! i'm gunna be able to play this! ..... i was wrong. D:

@paulefty ; doesnt have anything to do with the speed of the lick, moron. it's a SLOW BLUES, lick.

This is a dying art my friend. I am trying to learn myself. This is the TRUEST form of guitar. SRV was the man and you're pretty damn good yourself.

is this to be played over the I chord of the key you're in?
mtwilson87 2 years ago
It's played as the chord progression transitions back to the I chord at Bar 8. The chords that lead into it are played over Bar 7 on the IV chord.
gr8bluesgtr 2 years ago
@gr8bluesgtr First thing: your videos are fantastic. Seriously.
Second thing: is this what you really mean to say? Or did you mean the 6th & 7th or 10th & 11th? Maybe I'm missing it.

I don't have exact measurements, but the action is set decently high.

The bootleg name is "Accolades". I don't know if that helps narrow it down or not, but it should be pretty easy to find online.
