Does anyone remember the ' Tips for drivers petrol ads? It always had two blokes.. I forget their names.. pulling into a petrol station...I forget what type BP, Caltex, or something and the narrator handing out some sort of driving tip. One such ad was NOT to wash the grime off the rear window of a station wagon when filling up on a long trip because this helps to prevent mirror dazzle when driving at night.
Proudly Australian... we don't hear that these days now that the treacherous federal government has turned a blind eye to foreigners buying the farm. Even our vital utilities like water gas and electricity is owned by foreign capitalists. The politicians and corporations behind the selling off of Australia should be named and shamed.
Bring back Golden Fleece Amaco, Ampol, Total Service Station that the Australian Labour Party destroyed in the quest to aid multicultural BP and X O N even Shell Oil. Why kill off the Ozzies Labour Party???
What did the Australian Labour Party make it so hard for the Australian Oil companies eg: Golden Fleece, Ampol and finally killing Amaco petrol Stations into their quest to aid their Multi-National mates in the Us and UK. ie; BP, Caltex, Shell, etc? Shame on you, bring back ore Ozzie icons and our true Ozzie simple life style!
@mrsgritoli1 Wow! I thought I was the only one to remember those restaurants! We had one owned by my mate's dad on the top of the Great Divide on the South Coast in NSW which gave you a view like nothing you've ever seen. It was fantastic. It's been gone now for quite some time, sadly.
@gupsnot My favourite was the one at Colac, Victoria. It had a great view of the lake. I also remember the Caltex Marfak lubrication ads with Sabrina, check it out its a classic.
@mrsgritoli1 I remember them too..there used to be one on the outskirts of Gawler where I live years ago,but it closed down, and then got bulldozed when the changed the highway there..such a shame.wish things like that were still around today
and we are still getting fleeced....peak oil! yoo hoo!
