can't agree. It's not easy to play in the street. I had my busking debut this summer and i was all nervous, forgetting lyrics and so on. I prefer to sing in front of people I know. But still true, recording a video is the hardest.
My fingers know the tunes so the music comes easily, but yes, it takes a lot of courage to stand out there on the sidewalk by myself, for people to judge my playing. Also, finding the right spot, and keeping an eye on my hat and the people around me to make sure no one runs off with it. And I'm a girl, so I have to be careful too...lots of things to think about.
Thanks for sharing this! Lots of familiar places there. Did you get to jam any? I think my fav city for buskers was London. Amazing musicians down in the tube stations there. I always think of Joni Mitchell's song For Free.
agreed... :). I've been wanting to do it at the mall in my town, but have never got the courage to actually do it. I did do it once, actually, but there was nobody there anyway.
actually the mall where I live is more of a long brick street cut off from circulation with a bunch of shops around it. it's called the "Historic Downtown Mall"...... whatever that means. It's where everyone hangs out.
I wonder what the busking laws over here in Houston are. D: I really know of no place you can busk :S It'd just be fun to have a jamming session with a bunch of buds out on the streets and people appreciate your performances(with a few tips of course XD). :)
This is an awesome video :-) There is nothing quite like playing some tunes on the street. (I think I might be going busking this weekend actually if the weather holds)

oh, I do. But I can't record when I'm the one playing ^^ I actually find it easier to improv in public than record something for a camera.

Malls usually don't allow it. A street location works better.
