WHOA! Don't lump in the Military with the banks and corporations. That's not cool. I'm voting for Nader, but comments like that can only hurt your cause. You don't have to be pro-war to be pro-troops.
Are you aware that your Military is currently in the process of being Privatised?. The ratio of private contractors to US Military personel in Iraq is now close to 1:1, used to be 10:1 pre Iraq. When there is no difference between a Corporation and an Army, you're in Deep shit. Also.. to be Pro Soldier is in itself obscene, Soldiers carry out orders, be they moral or immoral, without a single thought, professional armies are armies of Empire, that is not something to be applauded or supported.
Pro Soldier? I am IN the military, buddy. And you should be thanking people like me for giving you and protecting your right to say things like that. Your knowledge is impressive, do not degrade yourself by insulting the people who have carried this country on your back. Military men and women write a blank check to their country for anything up to and including their life! Can you say that you had the bravery to do that. I don't agree with the government either. But don't hate our troops
I'm not anti-military, i just don't venerate them anymore than i should, nor do i see how US Troops protect my freedom, considering i'm Irish, i won't find it in Iraq and Afghanistan where alot of the worlds oil supply just so happens to be, they are hardly a danger to yours or anyones freedom in America, if someone comes to take my freedom away, i'll protect it on my own turf, myself, like we've always done. But yes, it's a hard job and those that do it are dedicated, i acknowledge that.
Thank you for that acknowledgement. We share a common ancestry. I'm not saying Afganistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom are fun times. Terrorism has caused my country to become so paralyzed with fear that we're handing are freedoms away. That's all I mean. If it weren't for our troops showing us their bravery, the sheep of America would all be living in cages to "protect themselves." Sorry for getting so heated, I'm sure you can appreciate my stance.
UGH! If I thought that he would win... my head hurts... Soon, my friends. Soon the government will be for the people... but unfortunately it doesn't seem like it will be today...
Since the recent backing of presidential candidate John McCain by George W. Bush, a well-known Reptilian himself, it has been made very clear that Bush has chosen his Reptilian successor.
Right by McCains side is his wife Cindy. There is no question that she is also Reptilian. John Rhodes, a reptilian-humanoid expert, says there is no doubt the McCains have evolved from reptilian ancestors.
I'm voting for Nader! He's 74 so sadly this is most likely his last run for president. We need more people like him. I originally wanted Dennis Kucinich.
Green Change has the email addresses for Commission on Presidential Debates board members, who are disregarding the popular will by refusing to open the debates to ballot-qualified candidates like Baldwin, Barr, McKinney, and Nader. Go to GreenChangeDotOrg and tell the CPD that you want open, democratic debates.
freakofsociety81... does nothing?? DOES NOTHING??? wtf are u talking about.. OHH YEAH U WATCH MAINSTREAM MEDIA ONLY.. DO INFORMATION on nader and u will see how much he has done for us..
just because he is not famous on tv does not mean he does nothing.. WAKE UP AMERICA
What I want to know is why no one seems to be fighting back against the stupid jets that are flying around our planet spewing b.s. Chemicals that linger in the air for hours and kill vegatation. Nothing else matters while we're having random chemicals sprayed on us without our consent. Innocent children deserve better and we owe it to them to stop the b.s.
I'm voting for Obama, he's already given me an opportunity to show up his headquarters whenever I want and he's giving me an open forum to discuss how I feel via his website, but Nader is kick ass too
Ralph Nader neither has the backing, the clout or the political power to get anything done in Washington! Some of what he believes sounds good, and some is crazy but he knows that he can't and won't change a thing. He's a grandstanding fool who simply wants to keep his fame intact.
Okay, Mr Intelligent informed opinion, What part of Nader's policies "sound Crazy" exactly?
And are you of the opinion that helping draft The Safe Drinking Water Act, The Clean Air Act, the Whistleblower Protection Act Nat'l Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and a few dozen more protection Laws, Spearheading the creation of the Consumer Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and many many others is "Getting Nothing Done in DC".
This man has done more to improve the quality of your daily life than McCain or Obama has ever done or will ever do. He has a record that any politician would be envious of. Wake up, America.
Seriously Salem?! Obama just accepted Lobbyist money from the same corporations that would benefit from the bailout after he told the public he is against Lobbyist money then he voted yes to the Bailout right after. He told the people he would listen to and do what the majority of the people wanted, the people said no bailout! He even pushed for the bailout!
When you check out who got funding from what, a lot of the same corporations donated both to McCain and Obama. Obama actually got a lot more from them than McCain. :\
Man we don't even have a constitutional republic anymore. What we live in is basically a War-ocracy/Technocracy. Its like living in 1984 by george orwell. COntinuous warfare, constant surveilling, and a government of war-addicts and control freaks. We are not represented at all. And even the people we vote for dont actually control things in this country. This country is ran by the Military and INtelligence Beauracrats. BOth unelected. This is why we are in NAto, u.n., etc.
Unfortunately there's nothing substantive here either ... The core of America's problems at this point is our outrageous consumption. The debt we've created since basically Reagan's administration has put us in dire straights economically, as anyway can see now. Unwillingness to ween ourselves off of oil has caused ever increasing incursions into the gulf since the 70's. Our invasion and nonwarlike societal attitude are at odds with each other and our debts are crushing our economy.
I hate to say I forgot about Nader until I saw one of LisaNova's videos. Even during these first two debates I've been focused on style and reasonableness, instead of saying, "Wait, neither of you care about anything I care about: alternative energy, corporate greed, remodeled infrastructure, and clean air, food, and water."
This just shows the corporations will go out of their morals in order to make sure they got who THEY WANT, and not show men like Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, Mike Gravel & Dennis Kucinich, I doubt this will be a clean election as usual, some 'democracy', not allowing 3rd ticket to be in the televised debate, because he'll own them both & i don't find it surprising that the republicrats see it as a threat to their campaign considering they both sell out to the republicrats. screw the elephant & donkey.
united we stand divided we fall. America is more divided than anyone so it seems .We the people want peace they the government want war.The problem, we the people have to fight while they live in peace. If they want war let them go too and see how long it last.
Ralph Nader has been an advocate for your average citizen for many years. Everyone should bypass the corporate controlled media and get on youtube and democracynow[dot]org. Apathy is sinking the ship and, Europe cannot believe how citizens of the U.S. blindly follow the duopoly!
"If you don't turn on politics, politics is going to continue to turn on you."
- Ralph Nader
NADER/Gonzalez = WE the PEOPLE
Democrat/Republican parties = THEY the CORPORATION$
well said. why must he carry this torch almost single-handedly? our country could be so much stronger if this man would be given a free (debate) forum.
Oh, and it would appear that "boondoggle" means "a scheme that wastes time and money" and "Star Wars" is the nickname of a defense system which would defend the US from strategic nuclear missile attacks. Wiki - "Strategic Defense Initiative" and "boondoggle"
With the drop of 777 and the Democracts and Republicans fighting, if this two party system does not make you upset, then I don't believe anything will. Nader has been saying that this would happen to Wall Street for years. The only candidate with a platform of Stoping the Corportations, STILL is not getting the media coverage. The corportations own the media.
No, the Democrats hate Ralph Nader because he takes Democratic votes. I would probably vote for Ralph Nader (if I could) if I knew it would make a difference. But really, folks, in our elections, you have to take the lesser of two evils.
First of all, I question the use of the work "take". Maybe "earn" is more appropriate, especially considering the work involved in getting recognized and accepted by Dems especially since 2000. Next, people who decide not to vote for their party's candidate are more likely not impressed with that candidate than they are wooed by the candidate whom they do vote for. In other words, he'll earn more Rep. votes than Dem. votes because Reps are less impressed with McCain than Dems are for Obama.
Then finally, what other way is there for voters to put pressure on their candidate? The only tools voters have for putting pressure on the two major party candidates are A)start an extremely profitable business and pay him large contributions or 2) threaten to vote for someone else. Since voters from both major parties are so freaked out about the other major party candidate winning, the candidates they should look to for their "protest votes" are the third parties. Its the only way to press em
Really, in our elections, why not think of the least evil of three people? Or four? Or five or six? Why two? The choice you're limiting yourself to may be(and likely is, considering the major two are the ones the corporations are backing) the second-most evil guy of more than six potential candidates.
the reason you have to take the "lesser of two evils" is because it is only obama and mccain who have any intention of actually being president. by voting for anyone else, you effectively throw your vote away, which is your own business, but I just don't see the purpose.
The purpose is to get these issues that he and other third party candidates address, which the two mainstream ignore. The more support that is given to these candidates, the more difficult it becomes for the mainstream ones to ignore them. Will 7-8% of the vote going to third parties make it happen...maybe not, but if that rises to 10-12% in 2012, and 15% or above in 2016...eventually someone has to take notice.
On top of that, the two major parties attempt to sabatoge third party candidates who they think may be "stealing" votes from them. in 2004, the Democratic Party got Nader pulled off a number of state ballots by tying him up with multiple lawsuits and depleting his time and money. This time, volunteers made sure they went above and beyond the requirements, so there was no contesting his eligibility. The Republican Party is doing the same thing to Bob Barr this time around.
Everyone needs to do some loud actions at media centers that they cannot ignore. The media needs to know that participation in the media blackout will not go unpunished and we will not be silenced. Seriously as long as people are sitting on a computer arguing in the comment section of youtube nothing gets done - Unless you are doing it while participating in a sit in at a mainstream tv/radio station or newspaper.
the reason you have to take the "lesser of two evils" is because it is only obama and mccain who have any intention of actually being president. by voting for anyone else, you effectively throw your vote away, which is your own business, but I just don't see the purpose.
You don't think third parties run with the intention of becoming president? :| Why would they go through all the trouble trying to get the media to cover them? Why would they be trying so hard to get into the debates?
Where do you get the idea that the other candidates don't have any "intention of actually being president"? I don't see any evidence for that.
By limiting your vote to the two major parties, you're eliminating your ability to put pressure on them to counteract the pressure corporations use. That to me, seems to be the only wasted vote or worse... masochistic vote.
I've said the only realistic way of putting pressure on your candidate is to threaten to take your vote elsewhere. It's the only vocal chord you've got.
The vote of those who(like you) won't even consider voting for anyone but one of the two sell-out candidates can be taken for granted. Neither will represent your values because your only threat is to vote for the other major party candidate who also won't represent your values.
You can look at it as a two party system: corporations vs people.
For independents to "threaten to vote for the other candidate" doesn't make sense. Who are you suggesting we "threaten" and who do you believe is "the other candidate"?
You've changed my quote. I had already said I was talking about people who won't consider voting for anyone but Democrat or Republican party candidates. So if the person is leaning Democrat this election, they threaten Obama that they will vote for McCain. If they are leaning Republican, it's vice versa. My point is that it doesn't make sense because neither represent their wishes unless they own a huge corporation. The only meaningful threat is to vote third party, in my opinion.
Remember, just because it is a two party system doesn't mean that you only have two choices. Both Obama and McCain were selected as the most qualified in their party among many others. I am not necessarily against Nader, its just that he would have more impact if he ran with the Democrats or the Republicans. Just look at Ron Paul.
The media sells candidates during the primaries too. Ron Paul rarely got media attention besides his grassroots supporters. It's a very difficult thing to take a sold-out party back from the corporations when they own the most influential communications.
Corporations essentially choose which candidates are "worth voting for"(ie. soul-less) and present them in the media while ignoring other candidates.
That's what I'm saying. That's the ONLY pressure being put on the major candidates because most of the people are unwilling to vote against BOTH candidates. I don't understand how what you said is against what I said. Threatening to vote for someone else is the counter measure against corporate funding.
if nader were president, the world would be a different place today. imagine that! sad it will never happen because the jew world order won't let it happen.... :(
Register to vote and help make it happen. Only 43% of eligible voters voted in the 2006 election. That's like 100 million people if all of those people became enraged enough at the two parties to vote against them; Ralph Nader could win by a 2:1 margin over McCain and Obama.
You have to take the first step by registering to vote and letting your voice be heard. Don't wait for someone else to do it for you.
45 states and the District of Columbia for a total of 46 ballots. Additionally he is a valid write-in candidate in 4 other states. Only the people in Oklahoma will not be able to vote for him in November.
Remember that Ralph Nader gave "Bailout Wall Street" the thumb down.
He will be on the ballot in 45 states plus the District of Columbia. In addition to this he is a valid write-in candidate in 4 other states. Unless you live in Oklahoma you will be able to vote for Ralph Nader.
Well, I am voting NADER/GONZALEZ!!! I am not compromising my heart and soul for anyone. I am voting for the candidates who have the same views as me on the various issues. That is Nader/Gonzalez!! It is as simple as that.
When are the people going to wake up and realize that the future of this country is in OUR hands. I'm mad as hell...and I'm not going to take it anymore....VOTE NADER/GONZALEZ IN 2008! LET'S SHAKE IT UP, AMERICA!!!
That debate really was a bunch of trash. The debates need to be open to third parties! Independents are a large portion of our country now and they need to be heard.
Nader has already achieved more positive change for this country than many of our presidents! He has saved countless lives by forcing car manufactures in the early 70's to add safety features to automobiles. The clean water act, the clear air programs... Thank you Mr. Nader.
Are you saying that a lifetime of consumer activism and devotion to making the USA a better country is better than years of being a cokehead and going AWOL? ;)
Do Americans even know what a revolution is any more? Definitely isn't what the hippies did back in the day, because they failed. It's about bringing back the Military to serve the people, the Constitution once again.
He's really old now. He should find someone just like him. He's become a bad speaker and has horrible posture. He needs to find a younger and better speaker that has the same exact views and points as him.

Differences between Obama & McCain are HUGE:
--Obama wants to get out of Iraq; McCain wants an open-ended conflict with ill-defined "victory" goal.
--Obama wants healthcare for all working Americans; McCain wants to tax healthcare for the 1st time in our history.
--Obama wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts; McCain wants even bigger cuts for fat cats & corporations.
--Obama will appoint justices like Stevens; McCain like Scalia.
etc.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08

The results are the SAME
Obama will have our troops remain in Iraq because of limited power
Both will keep the idea of supporting health insurance companies with out a true solution to the people who cannot afford it
Both will continue to tax the middle class to pay for their government run PLANS
good luck when their ideas change after someone is sworn in....

HoboSoulder 3 years ago
Pro Soldier? I am IN the military, buddy. And you should be thanking people like me for giving you and protecting your right to say things like that. Your knowledge is impressive, do not degrade yourself by insulting the people who have carried this country on your back. Military men and women write a blank check to their country for anything up to and including their life! Can you say that you had the bravery to do that. I don't agree with the government either. But don't hate our troops

fluidvoid 3 years ago
I'm not anti-military, i just don't venerate them anymore than i should, nor do i see how US Troops protect my freedom, considering i'm Irish, i won't find it in Iraq and Afghanistan where alot of the worlds oil supply just so happens to be, they are hardly a danger to yours or anyones freedom in America, if someone comes to take my freedom away, i'll protect it on my own turf, myself, like we've always done. But yes, it's a hard job and those that do it are dedicated, i acknowledge that.
HoboSoulder 3 years ago
Thank you for that acknowledgement. We share a common ancestry. I'm not saying Afganistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom are fun times. Terrorism has caused my country to become so paralyzed with fear that we're handing are freedoms away. That's all I mean. If it weren't for our troops showing us their bravery, the sheep of America would all be living in cages to "protect themselves." Sorry for getting so heated, I'm sure you can appreciate my stance.

Since the recent backing of presidential candidate John McCain by George W. Bush, a well-known Reptilian himself, it has been made very clear that Bush has chosen his Reptilian successor.
Right by McCains side is his wife Cindy. There is no question that she is also Reptilian. John Rhodes, a reptilian-humanoid expert, says there is no doubt the McCains have evolved from reptilian ancestors.
mccain is the face of the reptillians

Ralph Nader neither has the backing, the clout or the political power to get anything done in Washington! Some of what he believes sounds good, and some is crazy but he knows that he can't and won't change a thing. He's a grandstanding fool who simply wants to keep his fame intact.

AINTMYAMERICA 3 years ago 2
Unfortunately there's nothing substantive here either ... The core of America's problems at this point is our outrageous consumption. The debt we've created since basically Reagan's administration has put us in dire straights economically, as anyway can see now. Unwillingness to ween ourselves off of oil has caused ever increasing incursions into the gulf since the 70's. Our invasion and nonwarlike societal attitude are at odds with each other and our debts are crushing our economy.

Wake up America!, while we still have a country!
Vote Nader/Gonzalez!
dstorey36532 3 years ago
No, the Democrats hate Ralph Nader because he takes Democratic votes. I would probably vote for Ralph Nader (if I could) if I knew it would make a difference. But really, folks, in our elections, you have to take the lesser of two evils.
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
First of all, I question the use of the work "take". Maybe "earn" is more appropriate, especially considering the work involved in getting recognized and accepted by Dems especially since 2000. Next, people who decide not to vote for their party's candidate are more likely not impressed with that candidate than they are wooed by the candidate whom they do vote for. In other words, he'll earn more Rep. votes than Dem. votes because Reps are less impressed with McCain than Dems are for Obama.
No0utlet 3 years ago
Then finally, what other way is there for voters to put pressure on their candidate? The only tools voters have for putting pressure on the two major party candidates are A)start an extremely profitable business and pay him large contributions or 2) threaten to vote for someone else. Since voters from both major parties are so freaked out about the other major party candidate winning, the candidates they should look to for their "protest votes" are the third parties. Its the only way to press em
No0utlet 3 years ago
Really, in our elections, why not think of the least evil of three people? Or four? Or five or six? Why two? The choice you're limiting yourself to may be(and likely is, considering the major two are the ones the corporations are backing) the second-most evil guy of more than six potential candidates.
No0utlet 3 years ago
the reason you have to take the "lesser of two evils" is because it is only obama and mccain who have any intention of actually being president. by voting for anyone else, you effectively throw your vote away, which is your own business, but I just don't see the purpose.
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
The purpose is to get these issues that he and other third party candidates address, which the two mainstream ignore. The more support that is given to these candidates, the more difficult it becomes for the mainstream ones to ignore them. Will 7-8% of the vote going to third parties make it happen...maybe not, but if that rises to 10-12% in 2012, and 15% or above in 2016...eventually someone has to take notice.
mad3moyer 3 years ago
Great we will be totally enslaved by then.
There is no way these rigged machines will ever let a 3rd Party get close.
Now they have the polls rigged so no one will notice.
But if everyone voted 3rd party and they lost, even the sheep will know this is no democracy and our republic is gone.
The wall street thugs(helicopter Ben and Hanky-panky Paulson) should have to break rocks for a living until they pay US back.
Paulson got half a billion parting from Goldman sachs.
roscogre 3 years ago
On top of that, the two major parties attempt to sabatoge third party candidates who they think may be "stealing" votes from them. in 2004, the Democratic Party got Nader pulled off a number of state ballots by tying him up with multiple lawsuits and depleting his time and money. This time, volunteers made sure they went above and beyond the requirements, so there was no contesting his eligibility. The Republican Party is doing the same thing to Bob Barr this time around.
mad3moyer 3 years ago 3
Everyone needs to do some loud actions at media centers that they cannot ignore. The media needs to know that participation in the media blackout will not go unpunished and we will not be silenced. Seriously as long as people are sitting on a computer arguing in the comment section of youtube nothing gets done - Unless you are doing it while participating in a sit in at a mainstream tv/radio station or newspaper.
sagekat3 3 years ago
the reason you have to take the "lesser of two evils" is because it is only obama and mccain who have any intention of actually being president. by voting for anyone else, you effectively throw your vote away, which is your own business, but I just don't see the purpose.
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
You don't think third parties run with the intention of becoming president? :| Why would they go through all the trouble trying to get the media to cover them? Why would they be trying so hard to get into the debates?
Mayoku3 3 years ago
Where do you get the idea that the other candidates don't have any "intention of actually being president"? I don't see any evidence for that.
By limiting your vote to the two major parties, you're eliminating your ability to put pressure on them to counteract the pressure corporations use. That to me, seems to be the only wasted vote or worse... masochistic vote.
No0utlet 3 years ago 2
third party candidates simply don't have any realistic chance of winning.
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
Sentiments like that keep major parties from having any realistic chance of representing the wish of the people. Check and mate.
No0utlet 3 years ago
how so?
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
I've said the only realistic way of putting pressure on your candidate is to threaten to take your vote elsewhere. It's the only vocal chord you've got.
The vote of those who(like you) won't even consider voting for anyone but one of the two sell-out candidates can be taken for granted. Neither will represent your values because your only threat is to vote for the other major party candidate who also won't represent your values.
You can look at it as a two party system: corporations vs people.
No0utlet 3 years ago 2
For independents to "threaten to vote for the other candidate" doesn't make sense. Who are you suggesting we "threaten" and who do you believe is "the other candidate"?
sagekat3 3 years ago
You've changed my quote. I had already said I was talking about people who won't consider voting for anyone but Democrat or Republican party candidates. So if the person is leaning Democrat this election, they threaten Obama that they will vote for McCain. If they are leaning Republican, it's vice versa. My point is that it doesn't make sense because neither represent their wishes unless they own a huge corporation. The only meaningful threat is to vote third party, in my opinion.
No0utlet 3 years ago
Remember, just because it is a two party system doesn't mean that you only have two choices. Both Obama and McCain were selected as the most qualified in their party among many others. I am not necessarily against Nader, its just that he would have more impact if he ran with the Democrats or the Republicans. Just look at Ron Paul.
AjaPuppy1 3 years ago
The media sells candidates during the primaries too. Ron Paul rarely got media attention besides his grassroots supporters. It's a very difficult thing to take a sold-out party back from the corporations when they own the most influential communications.
Corporations essentially choose which candidates are "worth voting for"(ie. soul-less) and present them in the media while ignoring other candidates.

iantryan 3 years ago 3
No being bought by the bankers and corporations, the ones who put them there, is what keeps them from representing the people,
you poor naive fool.
roscogre 3 years ago
That's what I'm saying. That's the ONLY pressure being put on the major candidates because most of the people are unwilling to vote against BOTH candidates. I don't understand how what you said is against what I said. Threatening to vote for someone else is the counter measure against corporate funding.
It's not nice to call people names.
