  • vocal perfeito

  • 1:20.

  • Terrible sound quality. I wouldnt have bothered posting. My opinion... Peace

  • Nice!! Inspiring! Thx for the share. izzy

  • one of the greatest bands who never got enough credit. they sound so good live, its sick! great lyrics, great message. great band.

  • these gents knew exactly what it means to ROCK A CONCERT...saw them many

times...always got my moneys worth and then some..

  • the beginning sounds like Zep

  • Love the Dean Flying V!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is my all time fave Triumph's song.... total brilliant..

  • Dennis.. Get that anger out brother

  • these guys sound a bit like Rush imo. I was only about 10 yrs old when they were big. Does anyone know if there was talk at the time of Rush and Triumph sounding alike or influencing one another?

  • @wildtrain - Well, they're both Canadian three piece rock bands, the drummers both use big kits and there's a token use of keyboards - and yes there is some similarity to the sounds I agree but Triumph are a little more straight rock whereas Rush are more progressive. I'd be very surprised if Rush hadn't had some influence on them.

  • Saw them 8 times and this is one of the best from that year...good stuff. Met them all also and I must say, very down to earth. Proud to say Canadian.

  • I was struggling to nurse my newborn son when this came out, and through all the tears (both of ours) and frustration, this song got me through, and baby got the hang of the boobie. Saw them a couple of years later, and they were one of the best live bands I've ever seen (and I saw Zeppelin in '77)! Triumph was highly underrated.

  • i heard this song the other day in my gas guzzling old dodge. it gave me shivers down my spine. all i could do was hold it wide open and rock the fuck out.

  • Had to be St.Louis. Great band!!! They don't make them like this anymore, 3 piece of pure Kick Ass rock N roll. And nobody could do the "big finish" like Triumph!

  • This was in St Louis hence the Blues jersey, and I can promise you I was there as I went every time they came here! Concerts back then were amazing and fun. Triumph next to RUSH was always a favorite

  • Great Tune!! Saw Triumph Live in Orlando Fl back in the early 80s and they brought the house down Rik Emmett rocks!!

  • I SAW TRIUMPH IN THE DAY

  • what the fuck happened to all the triumph on youtube?? I CANT FIND ROCK OUT ROLL ON FOR FUCKS SAKES

  • I was hot hot for Rick back then.....And he aged very well!!!!!!

  • There were many parallels drawn about Bible principals when this song came out. I believe they still hold true.

  • I AM SO LUCK FOR HAVE GROWN UP IN THIS ERA, TIMES WERE THE BEST. TODAY THINGS ARE WEIRD, MUSIC TODAY IS WEIRD AND DONT MAKE SENSE, ITS BETTER TO SING ABOUT KILLING PEOPLE THEN HAVING A GOOD DAY AT THE BEACH. I KNOW THIS DONT MAKE SENSE TO YOU BUT FOR THE ONES THAT IT DOES MAKE SENSE TO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN AND YOU ARE BLESSED, WE WON THANK GOD WE KNOW BETTER. YOUR NOT REAL IF YOU LIKE: JERSEYSHORE :KARDASIANS: JUSTIAN BERIBER: AND ALL THE FAKE JUNK CLUTTERING THE AIRWAVES. FILTER YOUR MIND.

  • @MrFtroop72 we are very lucky to have in our heart the willingness 2 fight the good fite. know where u go and never 4get where we came from

  • What a great Prog/Rock Band. I also was at this show in Towson. Thanks for the posting of this video !!!

    Incredible Talent !

  • I was at this show at The Towson Center in Baltimore on Feb 21, 1982. It was recorded for an MTV broadcast. Great songs and awesome memories!

  • Love that Dean Flying V........Mr. Emmett could definitely play it to the max!!

  • these guys are bad ass. my mom dated their road manager for like 5 years around this time (no she was not a groupy, so dont talk shit). she told me so much cool stories of going on tour with them.

  • i was there..Towson St U...awesome !! MTv played the whole show a month later!

  • My friends went to this show..I can't remember the reason I didnt make it...but they told me it was one awesome show.

  • Thanks for the video, do you know where I can get this, I would like to clear it up and made into HD.

  • Love the blues t-shirt he's wearing. Go blues

  • YAHHHHH BABY...THE ROCK'N ROLL MACHINE

  • If this was the show at the Towson Center in '82, I was there....what a great show!

  • If this was the show at the Towson Center in '82, I was there....what a great show!

  • I was there.

  • WOW! I was at this show in 1982......I saw them on 3 differenent tours in Baltimore. I so miss these guys. Maybe they'll play again together someday.

  • These Canadians rocked- Geddy Lee was proud as were the Trailer Park Boys- and...Bob n Doug McKensiee

  • is this a bint british band?

  • I was at this gig.Baltimore.Towson Centre.Great stuff!

  • Play it Rikki..saw them first in '79 at Mac in Hamilton Ontario..8 times after, always amazing, Rik is a class Canadian Gentleman. Thx for the vid, excellent.

  • Rik Emmitt and his Flying V. Aaahhh, the memories!

  • No one comes close???? Home about John Bonham, heard of him? Different style than Peart but just as vital to the sound of Zep as Peart is to Rush.

For rock guitarist there is no issue: Bow down at the feet of Jimi Hendrix. Everyone else since is just an imitation...........................................................

  • @fligemon What ever your smoking it has clearly clouded up your thinking. You mention Bonham yet you say Hendrix is it and that's it . Jimmy Page was more creative to me then Hendrix and Stevie Ray played with more grit and desire.

  • @nat00ben06 We are talkin about pure musical genius here, MoFo. Hendrix was a trail blazer. Page, Beck, Clapton are all great in their own way. And John Bonham played the drums, dipshit. And don't mess with the King either. How old are you anyway?

  • I'm 12 and I love everything about the 80's ESPECIALLY Triumph and Rush!! They make e proud to be a Canadian

  • My friend Kim and I attended this very Concert in Baltimore. A Band called Saxon opened up for them. It was a GREAT show.....

  • I saw them in Saginaw about a couple years after this . .loved Rik's echoe-smothered solo . .

  • You're the master of your won destiny. People don't really know. Don't allow others to make decisions for you.

  • I was at this show! It was at Towson State University. First concert I ever went to and it was awesome! I was 18 and went with my brothers and some friends of ours. What made this experience even more awesome was knowing MTV was there taping this show for a future air date. That was sooo cool! From that point on I was hooked on live shows and made it a point to go and see every and any band I liked, and every time I go is like the first. Not like Triumph mind you, but the feeling is the same.

  • I always loved this song.. fantastic chorus.

  • I am proud to say I was there that night!

  • hell yeah great footage. bassist sportin' a st. louis blues jersey. awesome!!! always loved this song.

  • hey whats all the BS ABOUT CLOTHES FROM LONG AGO ...YOU DUMB ASS IGNORAMIS BUTT PIRATES GET A LIFE..EVERY ERA HAD DIFF STYLE YOU DONT HAVE ANY CLASS SO GO FUK A GOAT ..OK BYE NOW POOP SNIFFER

  • This was my very first concert and Triumph remains one of my very favorite bands.

  • As a die-hard fan of both Rush and Triumph, I have to say that they are two completely different bands. Both have generally positive messages, both are Canadian power trios...but other than that, they are different animals. Both deserve respect for their musicianship, and thanks for the long years of service to "true" music.

  • They were always referred to as a Rush ripoff, in my opinion Triumph blew em' away-

  • eh, i wouldn't say they were a rip-off, nor would i say they are better. I'd say they are like Rush had Jon Rutsey stayed as the drummer

  • @younglink309 No way. Rutsey is no Neal Peart. That's the ace Rush has had over all other bands. Peart is generally recognized as the greatest Rock drummer of all time. No one even comes close.

  • @JPuder2008-you are correct.

that why they call mr peart the professor

  • Thank God men don't wear those type of pants anymore.

  • micheal, i have several freinds in the fashion industry, in one years time 80's fashions, yes I mean army camoflauge pants and chain mail vest shirts, are about to come back. One years time.

  • Looking back on it now, it was all so damned cheesy, but I still love it. Rick can sing.

  • The most underrated band from the 80's.....I think they had the best lyrics as well.....Never Surrender is a very motivational album....and we(kids from the 80's) used to like best bands singing about sex , drugs and BS.........Sorry for that Triumph guys.....all the shame on us......You were and will always be the best.

  • saw them twice in baltimore & started list for order of buying ticket's, camped out 3 day's at golden ring mall to be first in line & was but got 8th row center stage.think was in 82 & 84. some dumb asses's starting figjhting &caused concert to end early.

  • A fight at a Triumph concert? I'm surprised at that. A fight at a Slayer show? I'm NOT surprised at that.

  • I too was only 14 when MTV played this. Best days of my life. Seen Triumph at Arrowhead Stadium in 81' or 82' I can't remember, guess I'm getting old now! Back when the smoke was the smoke!

  • Were those the two best fucking years or what, brother????

  • In my opinion, you're NOT getting old! I'll bet you're in better shape than those who were born post '80s! Anyway, when you saw Triumph in the early '80s, who did they open for-or did someone open for them?

  • The first time I saw Triumph they headlined and Survivor opened for them. At that time survivor had only one hit which was Eye of the Tiger. Cool show!

  • @AngelofAnguish Triumph never was an opening act. They were always the headliner.

  • VERY GOOD, ! I LOVE THIS SONG

  • This song really describes the human condition well.

    Extremely good lyrics. Rock on.

  • basically

  • days grow shorter and the nights are getting long

  • Adorei... me lembra meus velhos tempos de rockeiro...

  • greattt voiceeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great stuff! thanks for posting

  • I was 14 when MTV showed this vid in '81.... watched it while I was eating my Pop Tarts before school in the 8th grade. Right ON!!!

  • word is the rock'n'roll machine is gonna fire up one more time.

  • i wish i could get the kids today to listen to this so they would no what rock an roll really is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i started listening to triumph when i was 12, i am 14 as of now...

  • Ha, I'm only 20 and I posted the videos from this concert.

I've been a classic rock/80s metal fan all of my life and whether you like guitar hero or not its definatly converting kids from the rap/hip hop stuff to hard rock.

Still...I know what you're saying a lot of my friends have no idea who most of the bands I listen to are...

  • @triumph1188 In my opinion, I, STILL, don't see how some people call rap "music?!" It's just rhyming words or "talking" accompanied by a beat. THAT'S IT. Oh, what's your opinion of rap stars "sampling" other songs?

  • @triumph1188 Yepp I'm 16 have well I've pretty much liked rock / metal / indie as long as I can remember, age does not really matter I believe, but also a large part of the younger audience crave for new things ':3

  • @triumph1188 Same here! I'm 22 and I've been listening to Triumph and bands like it since I was born!

  • @triumph1188 Guitar hero is a tool used to encourage arthritis of the hands, and obesity. Whether you like guitar hero or not.

  • Don't worry, some of us kids do lik rock now! I'm 17 and I feel in love with rock after I uncovered my dads Styx vinyls in the basement a few years ago and I've been working to convert my friends from rap & pop to good ole rock

  • @goodmusikanfastcars I wish kids my age wouold listen to it too, iz all I listen to

  • @goodmusikanfastcars

Sounded like [By-Tor And The Snow Dog] at the beginning. Very cool.

  • @goodmusikanfastcars I wish the kids today would show you a dictionary so you could know what spelling and grammar really is.

  • @goodmusikanfastcars imma a kid and i still like this but true today is all about autotune and fake effects

  • I was at this show!! Oh shit....yea I am old!

  • u aint the only on feeling old these dayz. Damn, I never thought I'd see 20 let alone 40+......

  • Great tune!

  • In 1981-82, MTV used to play a concert version of FTGF fairly often, very similar to this particular video. Although in that video, the singer's pants were very flaired out at the feet. I'd love to see that performance again, since it was my first exposure to this song. FTGF will rock forever.

  • LOVE this song and triumph

    I met Rik Emmett!!!!!! yeah

    he is SO COOL!!!

  • they never did the big hair and spandex so they did not get the commercial push that others like bon jovi received.

  • I saw them in Pittsburgh in 1983 on the 'Never Surrender' tour with FOGAHT and they slayed. My first concert and it was everything I thought it would be and then some. Saw them again in 1985 for the 'Thunder Seven' tour with MOUNTAIN. TRIUMPH made some incredible music and I'd kill to see them again.

  • I think Sport of Kings was when they started going down-hill...but I remember seeing them on the Allied Forces tour and just being BLOWN AWAY!! Nothing but serious, hardcore, kick-ass rock and friggin' roll...period!

  • Istill have this on vhs from 1982 little rough after all these years , but still a classic

  • Dude, get those old VHS put on new media. My brother has 35mm from the 70's on dvd, they'll never get lost, easy to backup.

  • Isnt this on the king buiscuit flower hour presents triumph dvd?

  • there was no dvd made for that, just a cd, and that cd was recorded in cleveland "hot time in ole cleveland tonight"

  • @doyouwannagobro man....do I remember that..the King Biscuit flower hour...lmao...I must be gettin old.

  • THE BOYS ARE GETTING BACK TOGETHER.

  • yeah I know, news broke last friday, I knew about it a few days before, too bad its all the way over in sweden

  • yeah the "greatest hits" dvd package thing has been in the works forever!!

  • What a voice!

This was on MTV? Wow, I remember that channel, they used to play music on it, remember? :-)

    Great band...thanks!

  • Back when MTV was good.

  • Awesome!

  • Showing my age. But I was AT this show! Ohhhh to be young again. I still think Rik Emmett and Triumph rocks!
