Is it made in Japan or Taiwan because I'm eyeballing one on eBay but the gu says it's made in Taiwan and I've never heard of Teiscos being made in Taiwan.
"still stays in tune...kinda..." LOL! NO, it does NOT stay in tune. It has the intonation of a fishing pole, my friend. It's a piece of flare for the wall in some cheesy Hard Rock knock off somewhere. Get a used Ibanez for about the same coin and you'll have a much better guitar. Or, just get a Strat. Can't go wrong with a Strat.
@stratobagster yeah but strats are boring. You can doctor these fuckers up n they give a really grungey garage sound. After all Jack White uses crappy old guitars n he gets a really great sound after he's tinkered with em :D
This was one of my first guitars (green mettallic.) Yhe pickups were so microphonic that you talk through them and it would come out of the amp. The intonation was pretty awful, too. I traded it for a Lafayette fuzzbox and a Guyatone tremolo pedal. I wish I still had those pedals. I don't miss the guitar.
i have one of these and a matching bass that my dad bought new and then never learned how to play so there like mint how much would you estimate the pair?
A guitar store nearby got one of these & they're selling it for $200 with its original case. Fucking beautiful guitar; sunburst , looks to be in perfect condition. I've been lusting after these for a wihle. But should I splurge & get it?
could you do me a favor? look at my page, and look at the video of my dad's guitar. im trying to find out what model it is. i was just wondering if you could shed some light on the mystery of the guitar.
Know I have a Del Rey that I have to check tuning weekly depending on how often I play it. For a vintage thou I have to keep playing it cause its pretty cool for what they had back then.
yeah I have one that has a sunburst finish, it was given to me, it was my Uncle's who passed away. But for some reason when I put the volume up on either the volume of the guitar or amp with this guitar it give a bad feedback squeal it there any way I can fix that?
Check eBay. They have a red ET-200 same as this up there at 135 dollars right now. You should be about to pick up a Teisco for under 100. They all pretty much have the same silver pickups. Good that old garage rock 60's sound.
i always love those chrome pickups i buyed a teisco once with only a bridge pickup in it so i placed a rickenbacker copy pickup in the neck and it sounded very nice and warm.
TVRobot1, I have one also made in Taiwan, and not Japan.

Yeah, a guitar store in Hawley, PA sells these for mad cheap like around $220 or $180.
Anyway, set it up for $30 bucks and have fun with it, I'd say if you like it, like how it plays, do it.

They have very microphonic pickups so they do give feedback, especially with distortion.

Beautiful guitar. I bought a trashed sunburst tulip on ebay and overhauled her with two P90's. For small guitars they have a lot of attitude!
