Common games, hard to find games, even homebrew/homemade games. There is literally EVERY game, for every system. There are files called TOSEC, Goodsets, or Fullsets. In them are included every ROM/game for a specific system. That's how I have amassed well over 50,000 games. BTW, just grab a $10 logitech dual action controller. What emulator do you think you'd like to start with, Atari 2600?
Thanks for the video! Brings back fond memories. Gamers today have no idea how primitive these systems were, and yet, they were fun. Atari games blew our minds.
@ke0nc The most primitive systems are the best IMO. I grew up with Atari and still prefer it (as well as early Nintendo systems) to most of these modern games (except the Wii party games packs, those are fun). I think with videogames, 1977-1993 was the true golden age of game systems, when they kept to the KISS principle. Now there are just so many cutscenes it's more like a choose your own adventure book turned into a movie than a video game.
@MVillani1985 Regarding today's games, I am sick of all the menus, personalizing, customizing, and story lines. Give me a car to drive, or a firearm to shoot, and let's get going! I don't care where the aliens are from, or what their story is. I want to blow them up...real good!
My PS3 games take so much time to get into play, I rarely do. Glorified Blu-ray player.
@ke0nc I think the last good game that wasn't bogged down by storylines was Super Mario World, after that the stories got longer and longer. With some games, the customizing works, like The Sims and Sim City, but not with platformers or shooters. Give me Space Invaders over whatever kids play today any day. I think for a modern game system, a Wii is a better investment than a PS3. Especially for Wii Sports or Party Games. Nothing like a round of darts or bowling or maybe golf.

@MVillani1985 That's because it WAS Tele-Games "Target" & not Air Sea Battle (although emulators/ROMs list it as ASB 2). Just curious, you say it was your 1st game, are you sure? Do you remember if it came with the Atari? Up until the early 80's, the Atari 2600 usually came with Combat (later with Pacman). ASB was (after Combat) my 1st or 2nd game, can't remember/it was 33-4yrs ago. If not 2md, then 3rd with #2 being Video Olympics. I still LOVE Atari/ALL vintage/classic/retro-gaming! =oD
@gjc82071 As far as I can remember it was my first game, but it may not have been, it may just be the one I remember best. It was a Sears Tele-Games that came with a pack of basic late 70s games, this one was one of them.
@MVillani1985 IMO Atari/classic gaming, is like a fine wine. (it gets better with age), hahaha. I used to collect retro consoles. Well, actually it was more like I went on a shopping spree back in '01, & bought 15 vintage consoles/200+ carts/games. They're all packed away though. Now I collect (& play) emulators & ROMs. Do you still have an Atari/play it, or do you even still like retro gaming? What about emulators, are you into those at all? I'm always looking for fellow retro gamers.
@gjc82071 I love retro games, especially those from my childhood (Atari, NES, and later SNES). I'd actually still play it on a daily basis if I could get a working R/F switch. With the other systems, the controllers wore down so they're impossible to play unless I can get some at a flea market. I don't know about you but I miss the days when things like plot and graphics weren't that important (I know Intellivision and Coleco boasted about their graphics but they still had good gameplay).
@MVillani1985 I love retro gaming & seldom if ever play modern games anymore. I love Commodore 64/Vic20, ALL Atari's (console/PC), most 1st & 2nd generation consoles (INTV, Atari, Coleco, etc). I used to collect & I have 16 vintage consoles. Now I switched to emulators (+ an Atari joystick). I have basically every vintage gaming console + ALL the games/ROM = 50,000+ It's more convenient + the ability to play every game, even online with other people. Are you at all familiar with emulation?
@gjc82071 I've tried emulators before, but it's too much of a hassle for me to get to work, so I gave up, but I imagine emulators today are better and more user-friendly than they were in 2001. If so, I might give them another try.
@MVillani1985 A few emulators are tricky to use, some have given me fits & a couple, I never did figure out, but as a whole, most are fairly simple to use. Things have changed a bit since 2001. Of the 50+ emulators I have, most of them are just click (a game) & play. Easy setup too. I'd love to play Atari (Combat, Outlaw, Space War, etc) online. I know from experience that the NES & MAME (arcade games) emulators are easy to use, (& FUN, too!). Let's get a game going sometime! :-)
@gjc82071 It's good to know that emulators aren't as complex or annoying as they were in 2001. I tried downloading one, but found out I had to download more stuff, pay for other things, etc, so it just wasn't worth it to me. Also, the few I got to work had really awful controls. Imagine Busby 64 with a half broken controller.
@MVillani1985 Naw, no worries dude. They, or at least the ones I use, are totally free, & very simple to use/setup. Of the 50+ emulators I have, I've only bought 1, an Amiga emulator, & even that was more out of convenience than necessity. I don't know what emulators you had, so I can't comment. 1 thing you will probably want/need, is at least a cheap $10 Logitech, USB gamepad. I have a $200 X-Arcade Dual Tank Stick, a real Atari 2600 w/USB adapter & $10 Logitech. So, you wanna play soon?
@gjc82071 Sure, that'll be fun. I'll let you know when I get an emulator as well as a working joystick. Hopefully there are also hard to find games as well as common games.
this is one of my most favorite Atari games. too bad I don't have a real 2600. (only a flashback) but I'm thinking of looking for one on the internet.
Player two fucking sucks.
