I'm sorry, but this animated series is just... silly.

Characters like "The Atom" or "Blue Beetle" turn me off.

Why couldn't they keep to unrealistic-but-bearable villains already established in the Batman universe like Bane or Ivy. Then I would start to respect the series and perhaps even watch it.

@JAHmann28 Well, it's silver age based, and it's definitely played tongue in cheek. It's not trying to be serious, at least not completely, but fun like the era it's trying to reflect. Batman has been portrayed many different ways throughout his history, and this is just one incarnation of that. I personally dig it. It's definitely a step up from The Batman, which was primarily made to sell toys.

@JAHmann28 Man, it's SUPPOSED to be silly. And it's not meant to be about the Batman mythos, it's pretty much an excuse for the writers to have fun with the whole dang DC universe. True, if you want storyline and character development, watch Batman: TAS. If you want a laugh and/or some fun fight scenes, watch Brave and the Bold. If you want badly written plots with everything designed for merchandising and badly dumbed down, watch The Batman. Capish? I love the old Batman, but I like this.
