Did you ever throw pennies into the air and the bats would try to catch them? If you walk in Quiet Waters park at dusk and throw a penny in the air, bats try to grab them.
@oleander423 We used to tie a flat washer to a "rod and reel" and spin it in the air at dusk....I don't know how much it fooled them but it was fun to do.....We used to think "our" bats lived in a hollow black gum tree....

I know there is some risk for rabies from bat urine, but the swings are not used any more.
