lol. BMX bikes are a really new invention. Like mid 90s. Fixed gear bikes have been around since the late 1800s and people have been doing tricks on them since that time.

Fixies feel different than bmx bikes or mtbs, so you can't just tell a fixed gear rider that they should go down 3 to 9 inches on wheelsize, and add a freewheel. they are different, that is what makes them fun.
