  • Who is the blond teammate that congrats her afterwards?

  • @emptycell25 Tatiana Groshkova

  • @bookiewormie1

    Thanx!

  • Natalia was my coach in gymnastics for 4 years

  • @exgymnast18 so you've said, three times.

  • The tumbling is AMAZING!

  • Natalia was always great and amazing

  • THIS IS MY OLD GYMNASTICS COACH AND SHE TAUGHT ME FOR 4 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely no disrespect to this routine, it's stunning and I love it, but I don't understand how they gave her a ten (they gave out a lot of tens there for a while). She had bent legs on the double lay, didn't hit 180 on her straddle jumps, and her handstand pirouettes were a little...wobbly? Anyway, just curious.

  • It has less to do with what she did than what others did before her. If someone else went before her and did a spectacular routine and got a 9.95, and then she went up and did a better routine--well she'd have to get a better score. If the previous competitor's score was high enough, that means she gets a ten, regardless of whether the performance was literally "perfect" or not.

  • @oubeauty2008 it was okay sometimes to have bent legs as long as it didn't effect that actual skill or took away from artistry

  • So graceful, I love the choreography. I wish the announcers would shut up though.

  • btw do you know which competition it was where she performed this in a yellow leotard with a gather in the front? I have it on video somewhere but I can't recall the meet.I think it was US vs. USSR from maybe 1990? And who was the girl who had the tweety bird music at that meet?

  • Oksana Omelianchik used "tweety bird" music in 1985 and 1986.

  • YES! Now I remember! That's her:)

  • Kalinina would have been a junior back in 85, 86. Perhaps it was a meet with Sazonekova, who also used a tweety style music?

  • It was Sazonenkova.

  • I have always loved Natalia Kalinina's super long hands and feet! She just has such extension and grace especially in her hands and when she does splits and such, her feet just enlongate her and it looks so balletic. She was definitely underestimated in her day.

  • @Polexia THIS WAS MY GYM COACH AND SHE TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING I KNOW. I LOVE HER BUT NOW SHE IS AN ACCOUNTENT. HER HUSBAND WAS ALSO SUCH AN AMAZING GYMNAST AND COACH BUT THEY UNFORTUNETLY SPLIT

  • LOVE IT MASSIVE LONGTIME;)
