  • Actually Soft Cell's version was also a cover. Originally recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964 and was a Northen Soul classic in the UK in the 1970's. Gloria was girlfriend of Marc Bolan (of T. Rex fame...) Check out Gloria's bio on Wikipedia.
