When Leno took over from Carson he was beaten soundly in the ratings by Letterman for the first year and a half and his job was on the line. When Conan took over from Letterman it took over two years before he found his footing and they stopped extending his contract in 3 month increments. Conans contract says "the tonight show" can be moved to 12:05 time slot with it still being TTS. So Conan won't get any of that 45 million for a breech of contract. PLUS hid contract is for another two years with NBC if i read correctly. so Conan is going to bite the bullet and move to 12:05 for job security reasons for his staff he moved from NY to LA. He will never go to FOX.
If this was based on talent alone, Leno would have been kicked off tv back in the 90's. But alas, large sections of the American public seem to like his unfunny show. I can't figure it out.

I Blame JAY LENO for this in 2007 LENO stated that he was going to Retire and told NBC, NBC Offered Conan O'Brien the Tonight Show, then in 2008 LENO Changed his Mind and Did not want to Retire.. Now in 2010 NBC is Shafting O'Brien..

When Leno took over from Carson he was beaten soundly in the ratings by Letterman for the first year and a half and his job was on the line. When Conan took over from Letterman it took over two years before he found his footing and they stopped extending his contract in 3 month increments. His ratings are low now but NBC should have given him a year to figure things out and build his audience in his new time slot. Why are NBC executives such incompetent disloyal, weasels?

Conans contract says "the tonight show" can be moved to 12:05 time slot with it still being TTS. So Conan won't get any of that 45 million for a breech of contract. PLUS hid contract is for another two years with NBC if i read correctly. so Conan is going to bite the bullet and move to 12:05 for job security reasons for his staff he moved from NY to LA. He will never go to FOX.
