Save up to like 5300 gold and you can buy a house in whiterun and then add the chemistry lab decorations. The lab has a bookshelf with a chest on top. =D

If you want to level up Archery, you could engage those mammoths, and lead them back to the ruins. There, you could get to a position from which you could shoot them, while they couldn't reach you. So long as your arrows hold out, you could get a fair number of levelings on your skill, because it'll take quite a while to beat them. Also, you can own more than one one house, so no loss to buy the cheap one in Whiterun, for storage. Most importantly, though, Happy Candlelight! =^[.]^=

@Raycheetah And, in a pinch, you can "trade" with Lydia, your Housecarl. She can carry about the same weight you can, and she won't mind holding all those heavy books for you, at all! =^[.]^=
