For instance the Quran says one of our pillars is giving charity for the poor, the widow, the orphan, the one in need etc. Doesnt say it has to be a Muslim, says the one in need. Where as Muahammed's work is Gods work, Gods words. Further, Bukhari and other scholars lived over 200years after the time of the prophet. I judge its accuracy. These Hadiths written by Bukhari and others stray from the Quran and are one of the reasons we a have Shia and Sunni split in our religion.

@allermann1 What I mean by power. Religious leaders, teaching there tranlation of islam, the bible etc. and people blindly affirming whatever these individuals choose to teach. Many people do not want to think for themselves, and that's where religion comes into play. Philosophyical? that is one way of putting it, My reason for putting it in the phsycological box, is that of the, thoughts and feelings associated with religion.

@allermann1 I understand what you say and in parts I agree. But still it doesnt make religion bad. For instance the Quran says one of our pillars is giving charity for the poor, the widow, the orphan, the one in need etc. Doesnt say it has to be a Muslim, says the one in need. Yet, I walk in a Mosque and I have a guy come around asking for charity for the Mosque. If I refuse I'm looked down upon and told "charity is our pillar". But their missing the point.

@Taxed2011 Your right about this. And I really do understand some of the quran. I have read about it, how it came to be, and some of the verses. I know about the pillars, and why there are sunni and shia. Just to clarify. Iam not predujuice. But I still have opinions.

@allermann1 You see, in the example I gave the Quran has a very great point. However the men in charge of the Mosque (ofcourse not all) use it for their benefits. The Church is alot more notorious in this matter. And I'm sure the Synagogue is similiar. So I see why religion can be a turn off. Which is why I only follow the one true book, the Quran. The quote you gave me from Bukhari I refuse to read even though it is about Islam it is not holy and it is not the Quran.

@allermann1 Bukhari was a man no different from you and I. He was no prophet such as Moses, Jesus, Muahmmed and others (pbu them all). His work is his work his books are his books. Where as Muahammed's work is Gods work, Gods words. Further, Bukhari and other scholars lived over 200years after the time of the prophet. I judge its accuracy. These Hadiths written by Bukhari and others stray from the Quran and are one of the reasons we a have Shia and Sunni split in our religion.

@allermann1 Most Muslims must say they are either Shia or Sunni and dont have love for one another. Only a small number of Muslims can say they are simply Muslims. And they are the ones which are closer to the truth. My whole point is to find the truth about Islam only and only the Quran can help. Anything else will stray. You had a quote from 4:140 but didnt say where its from. I thought it may be Quran I looked it up but it is different from what you wrote.
