  • Major Wolfgang Hochstetter disliked this. Well, he shouldn't have let the prisoners go and take his car.

  • 6:45 - 7:10 My favourite part of Hogan's Heroes by far.

  • 5:50 the "what" is "what" ?

    LMAO

  • "He would make a lousy book-keeper," Said Sgt Schultz. Priceless line, imo. Funny satire indeed.

  • LOL....I love watching old reruns of Hogan's Heroes. Carter was my favorite one of Hogan's men and as far as the Germans go, Klink and Schultz really weren't bad guys.

  • My favorite alltime TV show!!!! This show ruled and I laughed my ass off to it!!

  • 1 person didn't want the prisioners to escape

  • boooo, english shultz doesnt have the nice'n'heavy bayarian accent like in the german versions

  • me and my family as a kid grew up watching this show. As clean and funny as it was then, i still laugh like no tomorrow when i look at them. This show is TIMELESS and what a great atmosphere of sheer joy i still get looking at this show. I never, ever tire of those good old shows from back in the day.

  • @genesis1177 I agree about the old shows. they don't make shows like this anymore.

  • dime dropping at its best

  • HAHAHA LOL!!:)

  • that was really funny!

  • I never can get enough of hogans heroes.

  • LET'S GO GIANTS !!!

  • Interesting note- the newspaper that Sergeant Schultz is reading at the beginning of the video is called "Angriff", Attack. I don't know what "Head-On Assault" is in German, but that would make an even better name for a newspaper.

  • Der Krieg ist zu ende actually means the war is over

  • "My car!? I...uhh......"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • LOL MY FAVORITE

"I WAS IN TOY AND I HOPE THEY WILL GIVE THE FACTORY BACK SO WE CAN MAKE TOYS AGAIN"

    "WHY NOT IM THE BOSS"

  • LOL MY FAVORITE. Shultz face when he reads the paper.

  • Die Kreig ist tot! (i don't know German, but i THINK that means 'the war is dead.' )

  • @KisaxRin The war is over!

  • @KisaxRin I think it was Die Krieg ist zu ende, which is I believe, The war is to end.

  • Amazingly they (producers and actors) managed not to advance an agenda on this show. The rest of what hollywood does is so full of propaganda, lies, and attempts to control what people think. So, hats off to the jews in this show, they indeed did it for mere entertainment.

  • the one who played Corporal LeBeau (Robert Clary) was deported to the Nazi concentration camp, Buchenwald with 12 other members of his immediate family. Clary was the only survivor. When he returned to Paris after the war, he was ecstatic when he found that some of his siblings had not been taken away and had survived the Nazi occupation of France.

  • dude weres my car

  • so nice they named it twice hahahahaha

  • When I think of some of the rubbish that is put out today as entertainment, I really long for some of these truly vintage shows to be broadcast again.

Meanwhile, a big 'thank you' to all of those who provide these clips, and full episodes.

  • Hochstetter always broke me up...He may have been Jewish but what a fabulous Kraut....'Heads will roll'...

  • Close that gates the war is back on!

  • man I love this show. I watched this show when I was growing up in the 70s. This show and M.A.S.H!

  • Actually, the actors that played Klink, Schultz, Burkhalter and Hochstetter, were all Jews. In addition, two of them had actually fled Germany before the war to avoid arrest by the Nazis. The actor who played Schultz actually spent time in a concentration camp before the war. The actor who played Gen. Burkhalter's family were all exterminated at Treblinka.

There attitude about this controversy was always "Who can play Nazi's better than us Jews?"

  • Also the actor who played LeBeau was in a concentration camp.

  • That's right but you forgot Robert Clary (LeBeau) who was also a Jew. Both he and John Banner wore long sleeves in the show to hide their camp tattoos.

And I believe that it was 4 of them that fled Europe - Clary, Askin, Klemperer and Banner. Furthermore, Banner, Askin and Klemperer (Schultz, Burchalter and Klink) all served in the U.S. Army in WW2.

  • how did networks get away with showing this so soon after the war? i loved it, but did all american jews watch this?

  • the show was late 60s, hardly so soon

  • Klink was a bookkeeper. Ha!

  • 'SCHULTZ! Close the gates - the war's back on!'

Maybe the funniest line of the series.

  • Pt.2

    For example:

In this scene Schulz is the Boss of a Toy Factory, in the German Version it´s a Underwear Factory.

(It probably worked better for the new dubbing.)

Now this Show is a giant hit in Germany.

Because the Germans recognize themself NOW way more in the behavings and the language and the way the text is spoken.

    Anyway:

    I LOVE THIS SHOW AND WATCH IT EVERYTIME IT´S SHOWN !!!!!! :-) :-) :-)

    Greetings from Germany

  • Gruß!

I have a question: In Germany, are the Gestapo's armbands edited so that the swastika is not shown?

  • Swastikas, and every other Symbol else wich comes with NaziGermany, are forbidden in Germany.

It´s not allowed to show those Symbols in Public or to "glorify" the that time.

    But there are exeptions:

For example for the use of historical insructions.

Wich means that you can find swastikas in history books, Documentations in TV or in a Museum.

Museums are allowed to show for example Flags with swastikas BUT ONLY when they add legal instructions for everyone to see....

  • The odd thing is....this series has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT dubbing in the German version.

The first German version had an accurate translation but flopped mercyless when it was broadcasted the very first time in Germany.

So they dubbed the series 1993 new with completely different lines, wich worked better for the German audience. They still talk about the same things but they now have extrem exaggerated German accents (Bavarian, Saxon....) and very fast Conversations with alot of text.

  • I love these! My Dad bought season 1, 2, 3 and for an early Christmas present 4! They are all fantastic!

  • Klink:"You own the Schatzi Toy Company?"

    Schultz: "Yeah"

Klink: "Would you like a cigar?"

  • @Manumascabrera

Schultz says "jawohl" not yeah ;-)

  • I love how they always pull off some sort of hilarious scheme

  • People thought it portrayed Concentration camps too humorously...these aren't even concentration camps...idiots at TV guide.

  • I totally agree

  • @berniebay There's a bit of a difference between a Concentration and a POW camp as you have pointed out.

  • one of the best shows ever !!!

THE SHOW RULED, THE WRITERS WERE EXCELLENT

  • LOVE this show-thanks so much for sharing it with us! Please upload more...

  • You, you you you Idiot you.

  • Can't wait to see that episode! Especially since it appears to have Father Mulcahy in there as an active conspirator!!

  • What? Father Mulchahy/ William Christopher from MASH?!!!?

  • Yup. He plays a British flier in "Movies are Your Best Escape," a German soldier in "Request Permission to Escape" (both season 1), Foster in "Will the Real Adolf Hitler Please Stand Up?" (season 2), and Thomas in "War Takes a Holiday."

  • Hey, we like this show. The characters are fun to beat up in our fanfics. >:D Besides, Gene Reynolds and William Christopher had to start somewhere.

And if Colin Mochirie likes it, it must be hilarious. XD

  • Father Mulcahey Was on Hogans Heroes?!

  • lol I know right?! I had the same reaction when I saw the one episode with the "fuhrer"

  • loosen up

  • Is that Him @ 3:31 next to Newkirk?

  • Yup, that would be him.

  • yes the person who played the Father on MASH was indeed on hogans heroes a couple of shows

  • He was in several episodes

  • Oh, this is an awesome episode, even though you chopped out a few parts of it.

  • what song are they singing?????

  • Thanks for these episodes crepehanger47, always a fun show.

  • "Look at them...we've told them they can go, and they're having such a good time they don't want to leave!"

  • what episode that were Schultz said "I can't, Heir Commandant, I've lost my rifle!"

  • That was from season 3, when a general was shot by his aid. The aid freaked out and tried to kill the witnesses (Hogan, Klink, and Schultz). Klink ordered Schultz to return fire, and Schultz responded w/ that line.

  • Called "The Collector General," btw. General Metzger was trying to pass off stolen art as ammunition, but LeBeau and Hogan put a stop to that plan. Metzger's aide shot him in Klink's office and then tried to kill the three witnesses (Hogan, Klink, and Schultz).

  • OK, this site really needs to work on keeping its comment replies in their original positions. That last comment was meant to refer to a question regarding Schultz's line, "I can't, Herr Kommandant! I've lost my rifle!"

  • i love shultz

    he is so loveable

  • y-your the boss", "yes", "here schnitzel have a cigar"..lol i love hogans heroes, but poor clink he always gets screwed.......he got black mailed and lost some cigars.

  • Lol poor Hochstetter got really screwed...

  • Why not? I'm the boss

  • "Close the Gates, the War is back on!"

  • is there another part of this episode?

  • I like the character Hochstetter !

    Thanks,

  • I'm a big fan of Hochstetter too. I wish he was in more episodes.
