WHAT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! I just listened to the Sega 32X version of this song. It sounds like fart, literally. SNES version sounds waaaaaaaaay better.
I respectfully disagree, I think the snes version is WAY better, it has more depth in my opinion than the PC version and it's the one I'm more familiar with because I grew up listening to this version.
This version of the music is pretty good. Shame the actual SNES version of the game was fucking awful. A travesty frankly, to take such a seminal game and make such a piss poor copy.
No doubt. It just seems odd that Nintendo would even want it, given their kid friendly image and Doom being...something other than kid friendly. :) BTW, why did I get 3 thumbs down for my first comment? It's the truth, dammit! Come on, folks! The game is still magnificent, just not on the SNES.
you know for the super Nintendo music for the first level of doom is so damn good I would use it for a movie. some how Nintendo had better music then saga
Well the Sega version of Doom was for the 32X (Which, although it mostly produced shitty games, it was more advanced than most of what was out at the time.) This just makes the fact that the SNES version had better music even sadder. XD
See? This is why nintendo KICK ASS. LITERALLY.

pc version is the best for gameplay.. but the music of this one rokcs!.it doesnt even sound like 8 bit XD.
dylstew 2 years ago
The PC version is the best in my opnion.
Don't thumb it down.
As for the console ports, the 3DO versio has got the best music, just listen to the 3DO Doom music, and see!
The SNES version is jsut too pixelated and hard to controll, the 3DO's version has got too small screen... the PC version is the original and best!

Maybe... but the SNES version's music wasn't the best.
The 3DO version's music was the best.

@MiracleKD18 The 3DO version of the song would be the best if it wasn't so god awfully slow.
lionheart1827 1 year ago
@HereKittyKitty422 It entirely loses it's guitar sound, when this is supposed to be a heavy metal song. That's bad.

Nintendo was smart to choose Sony to make the Super Nintendo's sound chip. Who'd Sega go with? Joe's Sound Chip Hut?

it's very hard to turn a 32-bit PC game into a 16- bit version without losing something(basically graphics, fps, and maps)

And when they DO turn a pc game into a 16-bit console game, they charge $70 for it.

well that's basically a way of saying that they want a reward for their hard work.

ever noticed the resemblence between this song and metallica's "no remorse"?
atkm2891 3 years ago
yes but its only at 1:30seconds of noremorse the tried to emulate alot of the songs
FANADICALCOWHEAD 3 years ago
nevertheless, the whole song has a very thrashy feeling to it. The drum beat and fills, the guitar fills, etc.

Most Nintendo music is taken from metal. Testament mainly.
