I was at an X concert given at Cal State Fullerton in 1983. It was awesome. We got there early and were near the stage. Just before they started playing I looked behind me and there were thousands of people. the Mosh pit was playin hard. One minute there was a wooden road 'A' frame near the pit and the next second it was just splinters.
X had the most meaningful lyrics IMO of any of the punk bands. Even now 31 years later it stays in my head. All the members stayed true to themselves through the years. So many mall punks back then- like the Billy Idol wannabe in Orange in this viddi. Thanks for posting.
My Uncle used to own a coffee shop on Santa Monica Blvd and Fairfax in L.A. and they would come eat there all the time. My older cousin told me the lived just down the block. I remember seeing Exene once at the register paying her check and my sister and I were standing there just totally gawking at her. She looked at us, like, whatever She must have been thinking why are those goofy teenage girls staring at me?
x is the shit! in 1980 we discovered them (my sisser @ me) -they wrote songs about being on the edge of poor-that was our ma and us kids . ma loved her country music ,but she loved the lyrics of exenine @john jeeze i couldnt believe it when I was in the marines lots of marines was like me(x and punk!),x really talked what lower class americans felt ,and still feel WOW!
if this was at the Starwood, I was there!!!

The grainy and un-synced footage is perfect for vintage punk! Love it.
