Hi Jim, great as usual !...one question though; are you "plugged in"...cos I certainly don't get that echoing sound with my harmonica....Keep on, keepin' on.
That was lovely Jim. I was wondering how many harps and guitars you had. Interesting what you said about it sounding like an accordion. i did the same thing. I have a Tombo Band deluxe and about eleven diatonics some of them tuned to Paddy Richter to play trad irish music. thanks as always.
Getting back to harp parts (cause I started to learn it lately and can't handle harp part) which key is your harp ? Do you have tabs to harp ? and is it sounding different, what kind of harp it is ? Thanks
Harp on this is a Hohner XB-40 (Extreme Bend) in Low D. I bought it for session playing & to sound like an accordian when playing chords. A standard diatonic in D is pitched very high. I don't do or use tab but will post you the hole numbers after working them out..
Way to go Jim! Sounds wonderful. Just noticed this one tonight and I think ive listened to it 3 times already. Im certain you'd make both the young 1964 Bob Dylan and the current Dylan very proud-
Thats a real special song Jim, and you have done a real special job on it. You are a master finger picker my friend. I'm still working on GFTNC and after another 10,000 practices I might get it :)
Like a frog eh? - I remember back in '63 my Dad upsetting my sensibilities by saying Bob Dylan had a voice "like a saw going through a rusty nail". OK - he ain't Bing Crosby, but he knows how to put a song over...
I heard an Opera singer on PBS one time talking about his singing influences and he mentioned Dylan, not the voice as such but the phrasing, timing and intonation.
Just wonderful jim!! Nice! Is that tom jones in the background, btw?

It's unplugged Thomas, but with some reverb added using sound editing software.

This is an interesting variation on the song -- I like the subtle changes in the melody. Nicely done!

I'm not likely to inflict that on anybody. I sing like a frog.

Me too - got the chords yesterday, and sang it to myself three times before switching the camera on. I look forward to your version here on Youtube!
