I play rolb,when a guard pulls to my side i just bullrush/truck him and the middle lb/safty get clear shot at him. if one of thos 2 miss 85% of the time if there to clean up. i get big hits this way

If it moves and it has the ball kill it.

If the guard goes out to block you, truck his fat ass or go around it

If the guard downblocks, fill that gap

If the guard blocks out either fill the gap or go over the top outside.

i watch 2 things when i play i keep an eye on all th bodies in the back field an if a hole opens in my gap cause then i know thier comin my way

exactly and then if its a fake ur fucked b/c u could of just given up yardage...so keep your eye on the gaurd for the first second and when you read what he does then find the ball and either drop back in coverage or take the gap and make the tackle...and dnt worry if it gets outside of you b/c then the end is supposed to make the play

i usually read the triangle (guard to runningback to guard) and if the guards run torwards me i swim move hime and whatch the backs after

I think he's talking about reading your gap which is the frist responsibility for a LB. The two positions that make-up the gap, C/G for A-gap, should be easily seen (peripherally) without focusing on one particular lineman. Are you tellin me you can't look in the backfield while being able to see a guard fire-out and block you or one that is dropping into pass protection or one that is pulling??? Wow, you must have limited tunnel vision!!! You guys are too focused on the Guard, get the ball!

This is probably for pop warner football to where it would make sense to read the backs. Pop warner line blocks cant be trusted since the kids rarely follow the blocking schemes. They block the closest person , even if its their own guy. LOL....
