  • What housing did you use? My Hero2 has horrible wind noise, with and with out the waterproof casing.

Are you using a external mic?

Where is it mounted on your chin?

  • big improvement in night quality!

  • i think its funny you check to the right when you turn right

  • Not bad where there is actually lighting

  • cop at 1 19

  • was that a cop at the first stop sign?

  • I've had the original HD Hero for a couple years now, and it's pretty respectable for a CMOS camera, but still pretty useless at night. Just got the Hero2, and it's definitely a HUGE improvement for night shots. I accidentally left it on for a long drive, and it recorded into the night. I was amazed that I could actually see just as good (if not better) than actually being there.

Oh, and definitely 30fps for night. Lower fps gives the camera more time to take in light. 1080p helps a little too.

  • this video looks more clean !

  • I believe I just raised the video to wide angle 1080 and went from there. Any setting that I saw that may have helped quality I probably adjusted. I'll check tomorrow to see what settings I have.

  • Nice o trip to walmart!

  • Good video, can you tell us what settings you used, as my HD Hero 2 is very grainy when shooting at night...

  • I know others have asked, but you haven't responded--what settings did you use on the camera to shoot this? Many of us have a lot of noise in low light with the Hero 2. We'd love to know how you pulled this off.

  • @TheVideoTrek 1080-30 solid waterproof door

  • @13honda450r Thanks!

  • @TheVideoTrek no problem

  • What strikes me about your GoPro2 is that it seems to record better sound? Am I right? My GoPro1 sound is mostly disappointing.

  • WHATS WITH THE GOOFY MIRRORS?

  • @MrSailorJim Those are the mirrors that come on 09+ ZX's

  • I like how this is about the GoPro and yet the only comments seem to be about the OPs riding qualities.

  • I normally wear gloves but I was in the process of buying new gloves because I threw the old ones out. Mainly because they weren't even riding gloves. They were mechanic gloves so they were useless anyways in the event of a crash.

  • No gloves on ... :( "Infinite sadness"...

Excellent video ! Nice Bike !

  • Just back from New Hampshire with my new GoPro Hero2 (HumbleOutdoors $270 with free memory). The video quality is so crisp, tons of great action shots.

  • @TheOZBehindCurtain Usw the 1080p :)

  • @TheOZBehindCurtain i wanna know to!!!!!!

  • We create one ENGINEERING IN RUSSIA MORE shitty LIGHTS AND MORE LIGHTS

  • GREAT LAMP! Cool and in the dark!

  • Don't you wait for your engine to warm up a bit ?

  • @TheCarManiac18 Well... as you can see, I park in my porch, have neighbors, and a loud exhaust. I do not warm up my bike solely for that reason. On top of that this video was recorded around 2AM.

  • yeah whats the settings my hero 2 looks granny at night !!

  • wrong side of the road...?

  • Riding my motorcycle on the lawn....like a boss! lol

  • That night video is way way better than the first Gen HD records, I might own one of these cameras tonight. Thanks for the test footage.

  • Finally get to test the cam and a cop is sitting at the first stop sign........

  • wow no traffic lights? where do u live?

  • works so well you can see your goin 50mph in a 35mph a bike just feels like your goin so slow

  • hey are u using the builtin microphone? or an external one?

  • Did you have the skeleton door on? I was surprised at the audio quality, you can hear the difference when you turn your head.

  • Works better than a Polaroid instant camera. Will the Hero 3 have night vision capability?

  • @TheOZBehindCurtain did you figure out how to get good quality at night, mine looks grainy at night,

check out my videos to see if they are the same

  • The tach works, it's just that he's not riding like a squid.

  • omg why nobody's on the streets? lol nice camera

  • @benacostian It's 2AM

  • Test Drive Unlimited lol

  • i swear this is a hero 1

  • what kind of bike is that?

  • @dagty11 a kawasaki zx6r

  • it took him 6:34 to get to wall mart.

  • @airjaded7 Haha yeah I actually wasn't going to walmart. I can get there in about 2 minutes if I went the right way. I was just excited to make a video after figuring out my helmet mount and then got hungry after I started riding.

  • pfff tachs are for noobs

  • let the bike warm up for a lil bit before u start riding it man. DAMN

  • nice and contrasty with little pixel noise....is the filming straight off the card ?

  • its cool when your shadow is moving faster than you

    creeps me out some times

  • Thanks for testing !

  • You live in a ghost town

  • Awesome video awesome riding...

  • The video is pretty clear. The new f/2.8 really helps out in my opinion. I wish I could ride on a motorcycle to do a GoPro HERO 2 test!!

  • @OliviaTechVideos The f/2.8 isn't new.. It's on the old go pro too.

  • @Susasama you can see it working...

  • @Susasama The tachometer starts at 8,000 Rpm

  • @javelinxd44 Ah, I was thinking the green lighting was the beginning, didn't see below it.

  • @Susasama i think it's his speedometer and yes it is working

  • @milobejot

    that's a tach

  • @Susasama im sorry u r right its his tachometer

  • @Susasama yes it does, 2:20

  • @Susasama I think it works. But why to drive at 14.000 RPM at night? :)

  • @Susasama No, it's a special tachometer that reads everything below the engine's power curve in the first 25% of the face and the power curve takes up the remaining 75%.

Search for "Auto Meter 6854" for an example of what I mean.

  • @Susasama It works ...but only when the bike is vertical - 2:20 :-)

  • @Susasama Needs a light bulb in his speedo too!

  • @Susasama hes shfting really early...

  • @Susasama

Yep, it is. Just that the first green section.. That first number is 8,000RPM 0-8K is in small numbers at the bottom. He is probably shifting early because the engine is still cold. Smart man not abusing a cold engine.

  • @Susasama it work. cant chu see. everyone enjoy da bike ride to wally world lol cool video mark !

  • Amazing!

  • Hahhahaha! Damnn!! I thnik it will hd/2, but it`s also hd/s)))

  • I gaise ver2 is more powerfull, i got v1, but i t think i will buy new one too

  • @ExtremeRoadViews A "simple firmware upgrade" won't give it a sensor with more than twice the resolution, twice the cpu power and better optics. For an extra $200 over the HERO2, I'd sure hope the VIO-POV HD has better performance.

  • I just bought 2 today. Do you happen to know what your settings are placed on the hero2. I recorded earlier tonight and the video didn't come out as clear as your did. Did you have to do any editing.

  • @afgoose It's right out the box, no settings changed. Quality is beyond great when I got underneath a gas station over hang and down the strip(VEGAS). Noticeably better than previous GoPro

  • I like it.I am a huge fan of the GoPro and of motorcycling. I want this camera.

  • Thanks, nice video. Sad, that HERO2 is not available in my country for this moment...

  • Dramatically better low light performance than the old Hero HD. Good white balance, and much brighter and clearer.

  • @daemn42 How you know? Have you tested HD and HD2 under low light ?

  • @ncunuclear718 Yes, In fact I have tested both under low light conditions and the difference is dramatic

Hero HD: vimeo dot com/31179452 versus HERO2: vimeo dot com/31179521

But I commented on this video before I'd done those tests because I had attempted to use my Hero HD driving at night and the resulting video was unusable. That's why when I saw this vid, I knew the low light performance was much improved.

  • @daemn42 So great test!!! Thanks for your vimeo footage. Because you, I have decided to buy GoPro HD Hero 2.
