Oh, and Adult Swim is making two shorts called "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Animation" which will air August 12th (the day before the movie) and be shown between 12:00 am and 12:30 am. The shorts are just the flashback scene at the beginning of book 2 that shows how he met Kim and Lisa and how they started their band. Michael Cera voices Scott (obviously), Allison Pill voices Kim (obviously) Mae Whitman voices Lisa (Who plays Roxy in the movie) and Jason Schwartzman voices Simon Lee (he plays Gideon).
I saw the movie twice at Comic-Con, and not only does it keep all of the charm of the books (aka the awesome captions, sound effects, visual sound effects), it adds a lot more of it's own and it makes the movie amazing and it shows the world the Edgar Wright is here to stay.
I don't think the ANIMATED bit would work well, this is a very surreal book, with its quirk and jitters, and is moreover set in the REAL world, just with some... Eh... DIFFERENT ideas built around it... Bryan Lee O'Malley won't even LOOK at this crap because 1: He already does his OWN work and 2: This is far less than amature. Sorry
wow .. i tought exactly the same when i found that there was a live action movie on the on the works..
just as u, i think part of the charm of this comic is his art. and i dont know.. some things just gonna look a little corny in a live action movie ( i mean, look in the trailer when the first exbf appears falling from the ceiling yelling MR PILGRIMM!!! .. that was awkward..)
@FlipJick I saw it twice at Comic-Con. It does what Kick-Ass does. It takes a few panels from the comic and just kind of animates them to tell some back story. Oh, and yes, it does the book justice and Scott Pilgrim (next to Inception) will be the best movie of the year.
Scott Pilgrim becoming anime? Not in our lifetime unfortunatly.
Nice animation though, and I agree that a animated movie would be better off made than a live-action one. Plus it's going to seem weird and akward for video-game references come to life literally.
Well, michael cera is god........

I just wish that it was an animated movie instead of a live action. I think it'd be alot better.

i would LOVE an animated series of this comic.

Lucky for you, my friend, the sound effects and comic book style has been added to the film!

I don't think the live action will ruin it, I think it'll just give us a new way to experience the story. :)
Though I would've LOVED to seen an animated one . . .

I think the movie actually has animated sequences in it. That's what I've heard, don't quote me. Wait, you can't quote me! You don't know my name!
FlipJick 2 years ago
I've heard that too, but we'll just have to wait until next Summer to find out.

Not if you have a TIME MACHINE!
Wait, I guess technically, even if you had a time machine, you still would...

I didn't know that
Thats awesome!

He's the same person in EVERY MOVIE.
Think Vince Vaughn -__-

I'd be more skeptical about the fact that Michael Sera is playing Scott. That guy is like, three fourths a Shia Leabeuf on the irritating scale.

He also looks like he's ten...and Scott is in his twenties...

you are right.
i like the irritating scale, shia lebeuf is such an arsehole
