I think that people are confused by what being Christian means. The word itself means Like Christ. Christians are supposed to love everyone no matter who they are, where they come from, sexual preference, race, or anything else. Christians are to love as Christ loves us. I also think that people get confused about what love really is. Love means to think the best and to do the best for another person, even to the point of self sacrifice. Love others and everything else will fall into place.

Well there are several verses cited by some that many claim are against homosexuallity. There are many verses that confirm that God intended for man and woman to unite in marriage and then in sex. Gen. 1:28 is very clear that God "BLESSED" Adam and Eve and told them to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth". That seems pretty clear. Now...bdsmawd- the "b" is my first initial, "dsm" is for Diamond Star Motors, and "awd" is for All Wheel Drive. Nice try though. Over 400 HP!!

Wow! Where exactly is the hate? I haven't said anything hateful on here...at all. Why is that so often the comeback when someone says that they believe that homosexuality is wrong? I could just as easily say that you should stop the hate because you disagree with me, but I won't.
I am very aware of how seriously the evangelical community takes Genesis. The reality is they do not. There are evangelical pastors who have been preaching for years and have only given one or two sermons on Old Testament texts. The number who have spoken much on texts in the books of Moses are few and far between. The only time many of them cite passages from the books of Moses is when they can bash gays. They do not live in harmony with the laws of Moses, but want gays to.
I don't know what pastors or churches you are referring to but the 3 churches I have been a member of have all preached and taught from many books in the OT and all of the Torah. These sermons have varied over many subjects. I have never sat thru a sermon that was "gay bashing" and I have been a Christian and in church almost every time the doors are open for almost 25 years. I will agree with you that there are many in the church that want to pick and choose what to obey. Some may pick on gays.
A Messianic congregation will go through the Torah regularly. In most evangelical churches it would be extremely rare to hear a sermon based exclusively on a text from the books of Moses. I've spoken in churches representing six denominations. Old Testament sermons are not a big focus in evangelical churches, because they tend to focus more on being NT churches. Even churches using a liturgical cycle that includes the books of Moses rarely have sermons on those passages.
Hell doesn't exist people nor does the bible or burning in hell. Let go of the fear and ignore what the christian homophoebs say for they can only argue with outdated bible verses. Gay is no more sinful than straight. If you are religiously fervent, don't have sex with anyone. Don't preach that either is wrong because it makes you feel uncomfortable for that changes nothing and God could care less.
There are many Christians who do not believe in hell. I agree with your point. Homosexuality is not a sin any more than heterosexuality. Thank you for watching and posting comments. :-D
You could be holding a loaded gun in your hand. Just because I don't believe that it is real or loaded doesn't change that it is. Just because some don't believe in Hell doesn't mean it doesn't. If homosexuallity is no different than heterosexuallity please show me somewhere in the Bible where it explicitly agrees with it. Also, if God thinks it is ok, why did He create a female as Adam's "helpmate"? Why not a man? Why are there no affirming verses for homosexuallity?
No blanket Biblical condemnation of homosexuality. The word did not exist in ancient Hebrew or Greek. The word translated helpmate in English is gender neutral-meaning Adam's helpmate could have been a man or a woman. The Biblical purpose of marriage, according to the Genesis Chapter 2 account of creation, is not procreation. Eve (the helpmeet) was created so Adam would not be lonely. Genesis Chapter 2 does not support condemning gay marriages. BDSMawd-Bondage-domination, sadomasochism ???
@garysdeskcom How can you say that Adam's help mate could have been a man or a woman? What about Genesis 2 :21-23? "So the Lord God made man to fall asleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man's ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib and He brought her to the man. "At Last!" the man exclaimed "This one is bone from my bone and flesh from my flesh. She will be called 'woman` because she was taken from man." the helpmate was female.
@Elkhorngrl77 Just because God created a woman and not a man does not mean a thing about the morality of homosexuality. Your comment does not prove at all that the word translated helpmeet had *no* gender at all to it and could refer to either a man or a woman.
It can be proved that you are holding a loaded gun but no one can prove that hell exists, therefore it is a fabrication of the mind. Both are not different than one another, they both arise out of desire which is the sin of eden. Think of Genesis this way: The tree represents the human body reversed. The roots represent the mind, the trunk is the spine, etc. Adam is male (divine pursuits) and eve is female (earthly pursuits). The apple represents the sex organ (center) which is forbidden.
@didgedude1 I know that you posted this a year ago. I was just wondering if you still have the same views on Christianity or not. If you do, why do you feel this way? I believe in Hell and Heaven. I believe in God and in Satin. I'm not homophobic. I am not perfect, just like everyone else in this world. I don't understand why there is this thing called "pray the gay away." Why not focus on praying for crime to be reduced or for people to be able to find and keep jobs?
@Elkhorngrl77 You say you are not homophobic, but I find it interesting that your channel shows you've been commenting quite a bit recently about homosexuality.
@Elkhorngrl77 I think I was angry when I posted this. I think heaven and hell are states of mind not places. There is very little in the bible about homosexuality so it can be ignored in reality. as for the bible, it was written by men, possibly inspired by god. I have no dounts that some where but some of the heinous crimes committed in the bible in the name of God don't make sense to me. Prayer is powerful and I pray alot. I am not a christian but I cherish some values connected to it.
What are your thoughts on 1Cor. 6:9-11, that says: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God
I addressed first Corinthians on a different video. Please try to keep your discussions focused on only one of the videos. As I said there, the context of this passage is also idol worship. The word translated homosexual in a few translations of the Bible is not used in other translations. There was no word for homosexual in Greek or Hebrew. The passage is not translated properly when the word homosexual is used in an English Bible.
bdsmawd, the translation that you presented is flawed. In the Greek text, the word arsenokitei is used, and is usually translated as 'homosexual'. The word 'arsenokitei' literally means 'someone who lies with men'. This would mean homosexual, if it weren't for the fact that that arsenokitei is a Greek word with a feminine ending. This would lead one to believe that the female equivalent of fornicators are being referred to, as in those times, such sins were considered to be only for men.
A little more history on the word arsenokitei: outside of two passages in the Bible, the word cannot be found in any other ancient text, so there is little context for how the word was ever used.
Very good points. Thank you for posting. We have no idea what the word really means, when there is no context in either Biblical or ancient secular Greek. I am not prepared to criticize gay or bisexual people over a text as problematic as this one. I do not think God will damn God's own children when the Bible is not explicit.
Where did you come up with this logic? Righteousness is not based on intentions, it is based on right actions. The "right" of righteous is based on God's Word.
True. I guess my definition of right actions is different. I won't use righteousness anymore. The right conscious decision is to accept all people as god's children without condemnation.
i hate this world... there is too much hate in religion for anyone to join it... it's ridiculous. Christians should go to hell for there hating ways. They are sposed to love no? i don't feel it.
There are days when I would agree with you. The church hurt me really bad - more than once. :-( Fortunately, I am seeing a lot of changes. The largest Protestant denomination in Canada supported gay marriage, and has a number of formally affirming congregations. There are gay church denominations, and almost every denomination has groups that are trying to get their denominations to formally accept gay people.
@dramaboy4u Love is why I wanted to be a part of church, and now its a part of why I don't want to identify with homophobic churches. Don't give up on all people, just because some of us are easily decieved. There are people out there (like me!) who are watching, listening, and understanding what gay people are saying.
You seem upset. Maybe that's because the more I post the more you are realizing that the bible condemns homosexuality, and because you're having difficulty responding to my arguments in a logical fashion you have to resort to name calling.
You appear to have some sort of obsession with homosexuality. The logic you display is an insult to God as much as it is to gay people. My hope is that you will come to terms with what ever issues you seem to be struggling to overcome.
Love has nothing to do with it. It still is sin. A man and a woman who love each other and have sex outside of marriage guilty of fornication which is sin.
The more you post, the worse you look. Unfortunately, the more you post, the worse God looks too. You think only a man and a woman are capable of love, but nothing else is love. The homophobia you post here is amazing.
What makes you think that God would condone same sex intercourse, when He condems men lusting after women and says that whoever looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart and is therefore guilty.
Lust is not the same as love. You associate all same-sex relationships with lust. That is not appropriate. Your homophobia is showing, and it is not pretty. :-)
They are all condemned in the bible. Where I got the earlier prohibitions against all sorts of sexual imorality are all found within the same paragraph, which included same sex relationships.
There is a difference in doctrinal understandings of the Bible. To get the understanding you have, a person has to take a rather schizophrenic view of the law of the Bible.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up the natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
You are good at citing texts. You need to read the text in context. The passage is about people who **already** rejected God and worshipped idols. Those people were going to the temples of pagan gods and were having sex with prostitutes in those temples. The chain is - reject God, worship idols, have sex with male temple prostitutes. What is condemned here is worship of other gods, not homosexuality.
You are partially right when you say that it is about idolatry. However, the text says that it was "for this reason God gave them up to dishonarable passions." God rejected them for their idolatry and then turned them over to their own sinful desires, which includes same sex intercourse in all its forms.
The dishonorable passion is for a different god. It is that passion that resulted in sex as an act of worship in a pagan temple. The prophets talked about the children of Israel whoring after other gods. That was more literal than we might think. Gay people do not have sex as an act of worship to other gods any longer.
Your logic is so flawed. So you are saying that the Bible says it is ok for two men or for two women to have sex with each other as long as it is not during idol worship. By that standard if it is not wrong for two men to have sex, than it is also not wrong for a man to have sex with his neighbors wife, his father's wife, his daughter in law, his uncles wife, his brothers wife, his sister, or with animals, as long as they are not doing it as an act of worshiping idols. Which is absurd.
What is flawed is reading into my comments what was not stated. I did not say the things you mentioned are OK. One is condemned, while the other is not. Loving same-sex relationships are not condemned in the Bible.
Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
More love is spewing out of your computer. You are using fear to bash people. That is not loving and it does not show God's love. Try a different approach when you witness.
And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day - just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Jude 6 & 7
7and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.
The text you cite has nothing to do with homosexuality. The story of Sodom is not about homosexuality. The Bible does not indicate it is about homosexuality. Sodom was a story about the evil of attempted rape.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell[a] and committed them to chains[b] of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 5if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
You are breaking the first commandment by creating a god that is acceptable to you. Stop trying to justify the sin of homosexuality. Repent, turn from your sin to Christ. A true Christian is one who hates sin including his own. Though we still sin we don't make a habbit of it. Anybody who openly emgraces any sinful lifestyle including: drunkenness, forinication, lust, drug use, bitterness, anger, adultery, pride, putting their hope and faith in their wealth, is not a true child of God.
Why do gays automatically assign the hate to anyone who disagrees with them? I do not hate you. I know nothing about you except your opinion on homosexuality in the Bible.
22And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a WOMAN, and He brought her to the man. 23Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called WOMAN because she was taken out of a man.
24Therefore a MAN shall leave his FATHER and his MOTHER and shall become united and cleave to his WIFE, and they shall become one flesh.(E)
Therefore man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Gen. 2:24
Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 1 Cor. 7:2
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Neither fornicatiors, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor sodomites,.........will enter the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10
In Genesis 2, another human was created to be a companion for Adam. The Hebrew word for helpmeet is gender neutral, meaning it could be a man or a woman. The word homosexual did not exist in Greek. It is a bad translation to use the word homosexual in 1 Cor. Charles Errdman, in his commentary on 1 Corinthians indicates, The practice of impurity formed a feature of idolatrous worship." The text is against worship of other gods.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say homosexuality is a sin. What the Bible speaks out against is men having sex with other men as an act of worship to other gods.
The Bible does not say 1 man @ 1 woman is God's design for marriage or for sexuality. That is not stated anywhere.
The U.S. is so far behind the rest of the world in our attitudes towards others. We say "stay away from our gun! Its no business of yours!" then go "You fags are destroying my marriage and we need to stop you or our freedoms will go away!!"
What happens to live and let live? I am pro-gun ownership and pro-gay marriage. I don't believe in taking people's rights away when they don't affect me.
We scare ourselves into thinking we will be less by letting others be equal. Stop that morons.
When you read a book one time, you understand the basic "theme" of the book. The bible's "theme" is that God loves us. When you read it over and over again and focus on EVERY WORD, you begin to overanalyze and misunderstand it. Some people who over-read the bible begin to focus on the Hell, anger, and hate that is not the "theme" of the bible. HELL and DAMNATION are two cherished beliefs that many way-too-literal-christians embrace more strongly than any heaven, love or acceptance in the bible.
Awesome points. The theme of each book of the Bible, and of each chapter is vitally important. Getting the big picture is important. Unless we get the idea that God is love, we miss the most important thing in the Bible. When we miss probably the most important idea in the Bible - God loves - we end up rejecting and condemning the very people God acts to include, and to affirm.
It doesn't matter. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD (that includes the parts which talk about sin, hell, and God's hatred of sin, (homosexuality included)AND IS PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING, REBUKING, AND TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
You pick and choose the parts of the Bible you take. Unless you've helped murder a disobedient young person, have helped murder a person who worked on Sabbath (Saturday), and have not eaten any pork, you are in gross disobedience of the Word of God. You are not living up to what you preach.
You're welcome. A common failing I see when gay christians trying to explain our stand point is either they only say "God made me this way" or they try to force too many new concepts all at once, and whoever they are talking too just figures it's delusional babble. I think your video found the happy medium. Enough to make them understand the basic concept of why we understand God the way we do, and if they want to know more, they can ask.
Some people attack GLBT Christians by throwing every Bible text they can think of at GLBT Christians. They end up getting into texts that are not even remotely about gay people. As a result, some GLBT Christians may try to cover everything - prove every possible point - right away. That does not work very well. The issue is too complex to explain in a very short period of time.
Very true. We work best when the full story is built on a simple ida. We are first taught God loves us, why He loves us, how He loves us and how He shows that love.
Many of us make a mistake in slander, etc. These are counterproductive towards Jesus's teachings. No matter if you believe it's God's work, it should not be justified carelessly.
Something people need to understand is that being gay is such a small part of our lives. In fact, most of us are as boring as well, anyone else.
Very well said good points. I see every person as 100% sexuality. There is a queer culture, which is different than straight culture. Everything a gay person does is gay, but that does not mean everything a gay person does is sex.
You covered everything... including the mis-interpretation of the Bible that certain folks take for, as people say, GOSPEL! ha. The word "homosexual" didn't even exist as we define it today. Two words were even COMBINED in certain circumstances when the translators could not find an appropriate direct translation. "Male temple prostitute = Homosexuality"? I think not.
Very good points. Thanks for the post. The word homosexual did not exist in ancient Hebrew or ancient Greek. A temple prostitute should not be considered to represent gay people.
PEOPLE WHO SAY that being GAY IS A CHOICE

@bdsmawd no, the "right" is based off morality and not being a dipshit
morality doesn't come from god, it comes from a few things simple for anybody to grasp
1.sound science and reason
2. human empathy
3. The social contract
4. idea that all people are equal
Humans created society and society is held together by morals and morals are based off these ideas and these ideas are creations of man.

Elkhorngrl77 9 months ago
@Elkhorngrl77 You say you are not homophobic, but I find it interesting that your channel shows you've been commenting quite a bit recently about homosexuality.
garysdeskcom 9 months ago

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God
bdsmawd 2 years ago
I addressed first Corinthians on a different video. Please try to keep your discussions focused on only one of the videos. As I said there, the context of this passage is also idol worship. The word translated homosexual in a few translations of the Bible is not used in other translations. There was no word for homosexual in Greek or Hebrew. The passage is not translated properly when the word homosexual is used in an English Bible.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
bdsmawd, the translation that you presented is flawed.
BIitzed 2 years ago
A little more history on the word arsenokitei: outside of two passages in the Bible, the word cannot be found in any other ancient text, so there is little context for how the word was ever used.
BIitzed 2 years ago
Very good points. Thank you for posting. We have no idea what the word really means, when there is no context in either Biblical or ancient secular Greek. I am not prepared to criticize gay or bisexual people over a text as problematic as this one. I do not think God will damn God's own children when the Bible is not explicit.

Righteousness is based on your intentions towards love, community, the earth and god. Sexual orientation is irrevalent but you will disagree.
didgedude1 2 years ago
Where did you come up with this logic? Righteousness is not based on intentions, it is based on right actions. The "right" of righteous is based on God's Word.
bdsmawd 2 years ago
True. I guess my definition of right actions is different. I won't use righteousness anymore. The right conscious decision is to accept all people as god's children without condemnation.

There are days when I would agree with you. The church hurt me really bad - more than once. :-( Fortunately, I am seeing a lot of changes. The largest Protestant denomination in Canada supported gay marriage, and has a number of formally affirming congregations. There are gay church denominations, and almost every denomination has groups that are trying to get their denominations to formally accept gay people.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
@dramaboy4u Love is why I wanted to be a part of church, and now its a part of why I don't want to identify with homophobic churches. Don't give up on all people, just because some of us are easily decieved. There are people out there (like me!) who are watching, listening, and understanding what gay people are saying.
spook79 11 months ago
You seem upset. Maybe that's because the more I post the more you are realizing that the bible condemns homosexuality, and because you're having difficulty responding to my arguments in a logical fashion you have to resort to name calling.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
You appear to have some sort of obsession with homosexuality. The logic you display is an insult to God as much as it is to gay people. My hope is that you will come to terms with what ever issues you seem to be struggling to overcome.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
The problem with your posts is that you claim I've said things I have not said, and then complain I am not logical.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
Love has nothing to do with it. It still is sin. A man and a woman who love each other and have sex outside of marriage guilty of fornication which is sin.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
The more you post, the worse you look. Unfortunately, the more you post, the worse God looks too. You think only a man and a woman are capable of love, but nothing else is love. The homophobia you post here is amazing.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
What makes you think that God would condone same sex intercourse, when He condems men lusting after women and says that whoever looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart and is therefore guilty.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
Lust is not the same as love. You associate all same-sex relationships with lust. That is not appropriate. Your homophobia is showing, and it is not pretty. :-)
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
They are all condemned in the bible. Where I got the earlier prohibitions against all sorts of sexual imorality are all found within the same paragraph, which included same sex relationships.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
There is a difference in doctrinal understandings of the Bible. To get the understanding you have, a person has to take a rather schizophrenic view of the law of the Bible.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up the natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Romans 1:26 & 27
RJLoki247 2 years ago
You are good at citing texts. You need to read the text in context. The passage is about people who **already** rejected God and worshipped idols. Those people were going to the temples of pagan gods and were having sex with prostitutes in those temples. The chain is - reject God, worship idols, have sex with male temple prostitutes. What is condemned here is worship of other gods, not homosexuality.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
You are partially right when you say that it is about idolatry. However, the text says that it was "for this reason God gave them up to dishonarable passions." God rejected them for their idolatry and then turned them over to their own sinful desires, which includes same sex intercourse in all its forms.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
The dishonorable passion is for a different god. It is that passion that resulted in sex as an act of worship in a pagan temple. The prophets talked about the children of Israel whoring after other gods. That was more literal than we might think. Gay people do not have sex as an act of worship to other gods any longer.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
Your logic is so flawed. So you are saying that the Bible says it is ok for two men or for two women to have sex with each other as long as it is not during idol worship. By that standard if it is not wrong for two men to have sex, than it is also not wrong for a man to have sex with his neighbors wife, his father's wife, his daughter in law, his uncles wife, his brothers wife, his sister, or with animals, as long as they are not doing it as an act of worshiping idols. Which is absurd.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
What is flawed is reading into my comments what was not stated. I did not say the things you mentioned are OK. One is condemned, while the other is not. Loving same-sex relationships are not condemned in the Bible.

Jude 5

Jude 6 & 7
RJLoki247 2 years ago
Sodom's sin was not homosexuality. Jude is not about homosexuality.

2 Peter 2:7-10
7and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
The text you cite has nothing to do with homosexuality. The story of Sodom is not about homosexuality. The Bible does not indicate it is about homosexuality. Sodom was a story about the evil of attempted rape.

2 Peter 2:4&5
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell[a] and committed them to chains[b] of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 5if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
RJLoki247 2 years ago
This has zero to do with the topic of homosexuality. You are now posting texts to show that God will kill gay people. And you call yourself loving?
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
You are breaking the first commandment by creating a god that is acceptable to you. Stop trying to justify the sin of homosexuality. Repent, turn from your sin to Christ. A true Christian is one who hates sin including his own. Though we still sin we don't make a habbit of it. Anybody who openly emgraces any sinful lifestyle including: drunkenness, forinication, lust, drug use, bitterness, anger, adultery, pride, putting their hope and faith in their wealth, is not a true child of God.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
There is no link between being gay and breaking any of the 10 commandments. You are the one sinning here - with your hate-filled, homophobic posts.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
Why do gays automatically assign the hate to anyone who disagrees with them? I do not hate you. I know nothing about you except your opinion on homosexuality in the Bible.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
I find it hard to buy that you don't hate gay people. Or are you blaming your hatred on God?

22And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a WOMAN, and He brought her to the man. 23Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called WOMAN because she was taken out of a man.
24Therefore a MAN shall leave his FATHER and his MOTHER and shall become united and cleave to his WIFE, and they shall become one flesh.(E)
RJLoki247 2 years ago
This text proves zero. Absolutely nothing is proved by quoting this text. This does not demonstrate that homosexuality is wrong or sinful.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
Therefore man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Gen. 2:24
Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 1 Cor. 7:2
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Neither fornicatiors, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor sodomites,.........will enter the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10
RJLoki247 2 years ago
In Genesis 2, another human was created to be a companion for Adam. The Hebrew word for helpmeet is gender neutral, meaning it could be a man or a woman. The word homosexual did not exist in Greek. It is a bad translation to use the word homosexual in 1 Cor. Charles Errdman, in his commentary on 1 Corinthians indicates, The practice of impurity formed a feature of idolatrous worship." The text is against worship of other gods.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
In the garden of eden God created one Man (Adam) and one Woman (Eve) and pronounced it good
1 Man + 1 Woman = God's design for sexual human relationships (In marriage).
1 Man + 1 Man = an abomination in God's eye.
1 Woman + 1 Woman = an abomination in God's eye.
Please show me in the Bible where God says homosexuality is a good thing.
RJLoki247 2 years ago
Nowhere in the Bible does it say homosexuality is a sin. What the Bible speaks out against is men having sex with other men as an act of worship to other gods.
The Bible does not say 1 man @ 1 woman is God's design for marriage or for sexuality. That is not stated anywhere.

God doesn't want us to pray the heterosexuality away because that's how He created us. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

God also created Adam and Steve. God created people gay too.

The U.S. is so far behind the rest of the world in our attitudes towards others.

HELL and DAMNATION are two cherished beliefs that many way-too-literal-christians embrace more strongly than any heaven, love or acceptance in the bible.
apuppetapuh 2 years ago
Awesome points. The theme of each book of the Bible, and of each chapter is vitally important. Getting the big picture is important. Unless we get the idea that God is love, we miss the most important thing in the Bible. When we miss probably the most important idea in the Bible - God loves - we end up rejecting and condemning the very people God acts to include, and to affirm.
garysdeskcom 2 years ago
It doesn't matter. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD (that includes the parts which talk about sin, hell, and God's hatred of sin, (homosexuality included)AND IS PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING, REBUKING, AND TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
RJLoki247 2 years ago

Just thought I'd elaborate.
Doodlez83 3 years ago
Some people attack GLBT Christians by throwing every Bible text they can think of at GLBT Christians. They end up getting into texts that are not even remotely about gay people. As a result, some GLBT Christians may try to cover everything - prove every possible point - right away. That does not work very well. The issue is too complex to explain in a very short period of time.
garysdeskcom 3 years ago
Doodlez83 3 years ago
Very well said good points. I see every person as 100% sexuality. There is a queer culture, which is different than straight culture. Everything a gay person does is gay, but that does not mean everything a gay person does is sex.

You covered everything... including the mis-interpretation of the Bible that certain folks take for, as people say, GOSPEL! ha. The word "homosexual" didn't even exist as we define it today. Two words were even COMBINED in certain circumstances when the translators could not find an appropriate direct translation. "Male temple prostitute = Homosexuality"? I think not.
