Nice antique fixtures. I've never even seen a pedestal urinal in real life before. I love that Bradley wash fountain. If you see all the cast iron drain piping above, it looks like there's a duplicate bathroom on the next floor up.
I would think all seven Penryns are from the '30s because their bases are more octagonal than squared off. For the 1940-63 Penryn the front base became semi-octagonal.
Correction: The semi-octagonal look of the underside of the bowl continued through about 1956. I recently received my 1948 Kohler catalog, and shows this Penryn and other floor-mounted bowls as having the '30s-style octagonal base in the pictures.
So I could say these fixtures would date from the mid 1930s through the early 1950s.
Out of seven, you flushed two, correct? The first Penryn you flushed is an elongated bowl and still has its original Sloan Royal valve (bell cap, bullet handle) while the second one is a round-front bowl and has a 1970s-'90s Sloan Royal valve.
Seven toilets, originally - and what a mix: three of them with elongated bowls and the last four with round-front bowls. The Kohler Penryns here would be model #K-5640-ET or K-4280-ET in stalls #1-3, and model #K-5640-PT or K-4280-PT in stalls #4-7.
Those are some very old Penryn toilets! They look almost identical to the Downing. I believe that the Urinals are "Standard". I recall seeing one like that a few years ago
Great video. Urinals like that are far gone in my area. I like the old Terazzo flooring too. Don't feel bad; I'm dislexic also. Numbers give me a hard time......lol
I live in MA too lol

I saw one of those urinals in a girl's bathroom when I was three... no joke. I tried to use it as a regular toilet. It didn't work very well. xP

Real female urinals did not show up until the 1950s and even so had lasted only through 1974-75.

@ClassicTVMan1981X I think the building was built in the 1950s or 60s, so that fits the range. Thanks for the info, I was curious!

The fourth toilet appears to have been a retrofit, because the piping where the flushometer is, is not normal.

Of course -- whereas the Downing was for 12" roughing in, the Penryn was designed to fit in smaller spaces, hence its 10" roughing in dimension.

@Flushmate01 Question one: What's that blue round thing you saw? Question two: What's the difference between the Kohler Penryn and the Downing?
homersimpson2800 5 months ago
@homersimpson2800
Question 2: the answer is the Penryn was designed for compact installations whereas the Downing was suited to larger cubicles.

These are old Kohler fixtures dating from the 1940s to the early 1960s. One of the toilets is branded "PENRYN."
The pedestal urinals appear to be Kohler Brampford units.
ClassicTVMan81 1 year ago
Thanks Man! That PENRYN Nearly Impossible To Pronounce.

@Flushmate01 no thats easy. "Pen-rin"
