  • thanks i needed this

  • Is this still true when you play on High School level ?

  • @bc0wful I do play hgihschool football and what I can tell you from my own experiance is that the guard has pull most of the time. They teach us that we should watch the guard, they also tell us to watch the tackle too, but rarely will i see them do anything. Im just letting you know from the schools i have played agains. this might not be true in your situation.

  • where can i learn how to play cover 3 ?

  • @Thefreshguy360 your coach

  • Haha april 27 my birthday:)

  • OMG APRIL 27, MY BIRTHDAY. LMFAO

  • I played free safety in little guy football. I sucked ass at it mostly because nobody taught me what the fuck I was doing. I was an aggressive player growing uup, but I never stuck to a sport until I wrestled in JR. High. I wish I would have played football more. I think I could have been a good LB or a FB, but I guess I'll never know. Oh well.

  • never played safety (or db at all) before, coach told me to go in at safety, i got an int first play :D

  • i play safety and im pretty good safety isnt if the line mens heads are down and if the linmens head comes up hes pass blocking?!!

  • Like i wish we could have a little picture to see like point a ect.

  • in 5-8 grades if the lineman are wide its pass close run if the tackle pulls its going to the way he pulls

  • I just sarted playing 9th grade strong safety this year I was a wide out but switched it up this year( dont know wht I was thinking) and i had no idea how hard it was but during practice I have gotten 5 picks and a bunch of knocked away balls so im ready for the season

  • i hav no idea how to play and i want to as a freshman

  • hes black

  • not hard to read plays

  • I play LB played saftey in my freshman year and it hard to read of the tackle. I watched the QB if he got in his backpedal so did I

  • If u bite on a play action. you're dead

  • @DJA216 no shit dum ass.

  • I got a Game today, And coach told me to play as Safety and Corner back.

But if the Half-back or Full-back gets by everyone else, its all up to me not to get Stiff armed or anything. So much Pressure on the safety.

  • @daboyutube if its open feild theres not much u can do but just throw ur self on him ( legs) , if u miss its not ur fault. its the backers fault, a safety is for run SUPPORT

  • @daboyutube just flip his ass when he comes towards you lol

  • Im a cornerback im alright but sometimes i make mistakes

  • i loved being MLB

  • what position should i be

    1.great hands

    2.good awareness

    3.ok speed

    4.solid tackling

    5.5 ft in 7th grade

  • @619hbkcenahardyrko1 im 5.6 with 1-4 as the same as you, i played SS, Really hard, but all worth it. i started. you gotta have mental strength, dont be afraid of hitting or being hit.

  • @619hbkcenahardyrko1 Quarterback, Wide reciever, Linebacker?

  • @619hbkcenahardyrko1

    dick sucker

  • @619hbkcenahardyrko1 hmmm im thinking RB or DB

  • @619hbkcenahardyrko1 Left Out backer

  • Comment removed

  • Depends on the type of scheme. I played Free Safety in a 4-4-3. I could not vacate the the deep middle under any circumstances. My key was always the guard..its thequickest read IMO, and safest. Reading Tackles and TE's can be a little dangerous..A lot of PA Passes, have the TE or Tackle faking down blocks. IF you bite on that motion, you are cooked.

  • i actually have had more success reading the guard... especially at SS. If a guard pulls its a run 90% the time. its true if the tackle crosses the line it is a run, but if a tackle steps back very often he can be setting up draws, off tackle runs ect. he is trying to draw the DE up the field so the RB can hit the hole between the tackle and guard. If your DE is playing contain or speed rushing from the outside you can consistently be burned by draws and off tackle runs.

  • gosh dang stop walking back and forth !

  • im in 8th grade im supposed to be 6'2 i can hit hard, catch like hell and read plays good, what should i be?

  • Vikingman, judging by your screen name I'm sure you're familiar with Jared Allen? :) Play Tight End. It'll be great for you.

  • @FaTaL305 what does playing tight end have to do with Jared Allen? lol

  • @Vikingman16 i say u shud be a wide reciever or safety or both i am in 8th grade to i am 13 5 foot 2 i wanna play safety

  • @Vikingman16 a X or Z receiver. normally bigger type WR's, good for blocking, hands, yeah

  • line backer

you sound like one of the guys from my team

if you can support your good to go as a MLB

  • tight end

    -Blocking

    -Catching

    -Tackling

    Perfect for you.

  • cornerback or outside receiver

  • i think u stop kissing ass and go suck on your boyfriends cock

  • an english teacher, so you can teach other people your wondeful grammar

  • @Vikingman16 Tight end cause you have all the criteria for it

  • well im a freshman in high school ...my pops was going to the nfl before he got shot down after a win over west virginia...i run a 4.48 40... i max out at 275 i weigh 218 and im 5'11 i play strong safety and im solid as a rock but i cant live up to my pops name and im giving up on the game

  • @riaFbabii if anything tht shud b your motivation. do what he didnt get an opportunity to do. do it for him bruh. he prolly wud want you to

  • @riaFbabii You can't give up on the game you have to do everything ur pops was gonna do u know if u work hard at it then u'll sucseed so dont stop

  • im 15 sophomore in high school and i wanna play next year but i have no idea what position. im 6' about 162 ive been going to the gym for about a year and a half so im pretty strong. i have decent speed and a good vertical. any suggestions?

  • Can you catch? If you're that tall and quick at your age you'd make a great wide out.

  • im a sophmore ive played linebacker for 3 years im really good i have good speed i run a 4.6-4.7,im 150lbs and im 5ft9 i can leg press 350 and bench 175.i can break tackles really good but i just moved to a new school and there not to good of a football team there pretty set with running backs but there linebackers and safetys are slacking what position should i play?????

  • @XxXReaper123XxX. I'd play safety, based on your 40 yard dash.

  • Im 5'6 130lbs junior in high school. I play strong saftey. I can bench 145, and leg press 250. My 40 is 4.61. What do you think?

  • wow ur a pussy

  • Wow your a dick

  • Nice 40.

  • shorty

  • Im thinking about playinf football next year but im not sure what position. Im 6'0 and weigh 170, and have great hand-eye coordination and have great game sense. Can someone please help me?

  • okay, im a freshmen in highschool and about to start jv football. im bout 5'8, i weigh 130, and im somewhat fast. What position should i try out for? PLEASE REPLY

  • @davvv3111

if i were you i would try out for cornerback or see if anything on offense like rb or wr would work

  • @davvv3111 lol if ur a freshmen and about to start for jv and dont even know ur 40 time or ur postion ur a liar lol

  • I have given this guy flack over some crap he explained especailly pertaining to playing wide reciever or corner. But he is right on with this one. One there are some strict rules like a tackle can not cross the line of scrimage on a pass play or it is a penalty. Two tackles are usually the most unathletic big fat slow clumsy mutherfuckas on the field. They can only make about 5 steps/play. So d-ends run around them and safties read them like books.

  • yeah cause they definitely pull every run...

  • just read the gaurd if they pull its a run

  • not on 334 gator pass we don't biatch!!

  • He is some what right in this video. The OT is a key to letting the safety know if its a run or pass, this read helps with play action, but it can also hurt you on draws. This technique type is used mostly in high school or when the safetys are in cover 2, in college its recommended to read the uncovered lineman especially when the safety is in the center of the field.

  • I think this applies to FS. OLB or SS would probably have TE or FK responsibility. It's accurate.

  • this would work better for an outside linebacker in zone

  • Nerd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a terrible video! This guy has seen too many basic football videos. You should never read down lineman while playing DB because you will get false reads and you will be soooooo slow to the ball. Another question for this genius... how would you read the tackle if your team is running an odd front, duuuuuuh!

  • what does he mean by tacker crossing the line of scrimmage som1 pz help im movn to usa from the island and wanna play football

  • You need to know the complete game first if you want to play. search for positions, plays and the line of scrimmage on google. its quite easy after you understand the game.

  • yea i know heapz from da madden game lol ut aint sure widd som terms they use

    mal0 apuito

  • sup uce.

  • hahaha nah tongan

  • haha my badd.

    im fijian n part tongan.

buh thatz gud that yu tryna

    get into tha nfl.

    it needs more polyz.

  • haha hardd alg

  • he means u look at the tackle (on the O-Line) n if he's pushing the d-line out n crossing the line of scrimmage, its most likely a run play. if he's not its, he's in pass protection

  • The tackle is the linemen on the outer side of the guard. If he crosses the line of scrimmage then it has to be a run because if they pass the line of scrimmage and its a pass its an illegal man down field.

  • yeah but they can be five yards ahead of the line of scrimmage. i played tackle last year for our team and we won conference. this year im a guard.

  • @shaneholomalia808 grat advice man thanks :)

  • @shaneholomalia808 great advice man thanks :)

  • @shaneholomalia808 nice tip that will help

  • make one video - How to make touchdown!!

  • I just read the QB, if he is droping 3 steps its a short pass n u dont have to backpaddel as much n reciver patherns r gonna be like slants, hitches, outs n stuff, is it 5 steps its gonna be a long pass, like fades, post, corner etc. As a safety you dont really need to read the run to fast, it is not our responsibilty we need to respect the pass couse if we get to aggresive on our run covrage soner or later there is gonna be a playaction, there are linebackers etc controling the run so play pass

  • yeah but on the offense we run the safetys second responsibility is to stop the run

  • lol, backpaddel(what is this a canoe? ; P )

  • lol

  • thanks that some great material.

  • I actually that's a good tip to keep in mind thanks

  • im a free safety and a RB and damn¡ its hard to read the plays......

but its still funny to play footbal

  • what if your dline pushes 'em back? how are you suppose to know anything then??

  • im a safety and its incredibly hard to read plays... id have to say that the hardest position on football is strong safety because theyre responsible for so dang much.

im alright at safety but im still learning

  • definetly corner is the hardest i play safety but i have played corner and its hard

  • i can imagine, since you have the wr right in front of you. i want to play safety in college once i move to the USA, it has been one of my dreams since i was a small kid.

  • @ChocolateCow12 agreed. its tuff but its a great position

  • @ChocolateCow12 Im a strong safety on my Varsity football team which is all grade 12's and im a grade 9 and im a strong safety/ wide reciever also I totally agree with you we can make or break plays and its really tough

  • @KingakaA1 damn you on varsity and ur a freshman......NICE!

  • @GreatestWR haha yeee im also playin up in canada right now gonna move to the states soon though so gonna rip shit up down there :P

  • @ChocolateCow12 same here our coach said last year our

  • @ChocolateCow12 and did this tidbit help at all?

  • @ChocolateCow12 dude im defensive corner and if i miss the tackle its up to the safety lol

  • @ChocolateCow12 Quarterback, the game is basically in your hands.

  • nah ok this is u do to read chop your feet step back 3 steps and read and follow the ball and tackle that simple and most effective

  • I gues you cant explain how to read football plays within 1 minute

  • im not trynna say he wrong but dis how i think. if the line man are standing up its a pass if the line man is in there regular stance it can be either

  • shit im full back

  • yo hes saying after the snap read what the tackle does. takes a step back, pass takes a step forward, run. im not agreeing with all he says, but i dont know much about saftey. im a corner.

and as far as reading TE, im not too confident in that either, bc you get a qucik look at a TE, most are good at faking the pass then going out for that quick slant. i say just play ball. saftey you need to be smart no matter what

  • ya

    yhtrju

  • dumb ass u cant read the fingers of a lineman if you like 15 yards away we dont have super vision.and u got that off a movie that had that.

  • shut up he better than you dumb magit

  • Even if you could, some O-linemen are good enough at hiding what they're doing that you can't tell the play through them. I mean, I'm a D-tackle, and there are some guards I can't read from a couple inches away, let alone 15 yards.

  • I play on a team that passes and I was told to read TE rather than reading a Tackle or Guard is there a reason for that?

  • if u play the 4-3 that's more common for like a robber technique... that's wat we did on my team.. did u run the alley too?

  • We run 3-4 :/ Like the Chargers Defense...I don't know about an alley

  • yah u right reading da TE is da best

  • you play free you read tackle if your strong u read te

  • Yeah I'm strong now I've moved to Outside back... but I play the Strong side and knowing their steps I know if its pass or run. helps ALOT

  • da thats easy

  • my coach says for simple reads to look for TE and his butthole is the hole for the play when theres a trap/pull

  • what my coach says is the tackle never lies if they drag right there running with the ball block right run to the left vis versa and to see where the pass is going look at Qb's shoulders

  • That doesent work when you are playing a good team.

  • it's even better if you read the guards, b/c if it's a run, they also mostly pull. then you'll know where the ball is headed

  • ok were at home on are computer..... why are u telling us this well forget this is amirca we are reres duuuuu

  • yee well im from Canada so maybe ill be able to remember O.O lol

  • thats on football motherfucker

  • wow, thats not too hard to know...

  • this is good 4 me cause i play safety

  • heres another way:

if the quarterback comes off the snap with his head down, he probably countin the steps hat he has to take before he hands it off, so its a run... if he comes out of the snap with his head up and lookin at either recievers, its probably a pass...

  • @dino5556 IN TEXAS 5A FOOTBALL THEY CAN COUNT THERE STEPS IN THERE HEAD. AND ARE VERY TRICKY ABOUT IT

  • @dino5556 the qbs head should never be down he should be reading the defense the entire time and that is a good way to read pass or run the only way that doesnt work is in zone blocking

  • as safety and also linebacker you can check the white on the joints of the fingers very white no more blood going to the tip its a run else its a pass (only works if the o-line has no gloves)

  • are you friggin new buddy?! how the hell are you gonna see the linemens finger colour if your at either safety position?! or even linebacker?! lmao this isn't the movie Invincible,,

  • thats sick i knew that already but i didnt know the tackle gives u more of a key to know what the play is then the guard or the center

  • It's different though when you play high school football. The guys on the line aren't consistent with that they do, you can't always read a play by this technique.

  • nice

  • hot
