I had a similar problem with our christmas tree a few years ago. I put up about six or seven strands of light on our tree. It looked beautiful. Then on Christmas eve, the top half of the tree went dark. When we took the tree down the day after Christmas, I tested each strand, and discovered that two of the strands had burned out. Now a days, I got it down to only two strands.
