=hugs his NES like crazy= I've had mine since I was 5 and is still in excellent working order. :) Super Mario Bros, Wrath of Black Manta and *drumroll* Final Fantasy are my collection atm. Wouldn't trade any of it for any money.
The NES 2 is better for people that don't care about the looks but about the games because the NES 2 can play BOTH "PAL"(Europian) and ''NTSC''(American) games. BUT if you want something sleek and you propably would never play "PAL" games then it's better to get the original.
i ordered an nes and ninja gaiden, teenage mutant ninja turtles and ice hockey. it's a shame that people these days don't really find out about these old games and systems unless the thought ocuurrs to them that there are probably older systems than what they grew up with. im 14 years old and i'm going to experience the nes for the first time. i'm glad i thought to look up about systems before the gamecube
When I was in New York back in 1994 I bought bible games by wisdom tree for 20cent I sould just walk to Brooklin Bridge and let the game fall in river...it was rubbish
@SilverMongooseVideos yeah, not a lot of people really ever remember that thing. if not for the angry video game nerd, i wouldn't even acknowledge it.
i recently bought a system that plays both nes and snes, but it just doesnt feel right. i got the games, but i dont feel like im playing nes :( . i now noticed i made a bad decision
@Supersourcrout Actually, I found the safest way and best way is open it up and clean off the contacts with something like an eraser. Works like a charm. But like I said, these tips are for people who can't do that. Blowing on it once and a while to get some dust out of there shouldn't really make a difference in the long run, but I'm pretty sure that I mentioned those things you said in the vid.
I just bought an NES a couple months ago with a new 72 pin. The guy at the store said in order to make it last longer DONT push the games down in. Just leave it in the up position. I guess all the up and down action over the years wears the pin out faster-----hence the blinking light. BTW....The game Journey To Silius is awesome...a must have.
Good review of the NES the top loader rules and is much better than the original NES because it works flawlessly every time and theres no more red blinking light of death. There is a NES 2 with av out i do own it but its extremely hard to find and very rare it has the same av out put as the N64 Super Nintendo and Game Cube.
@SilverMongooseVideos No problem The AV Famicom japanese version of the NES 2 and it plays both NTSC/ Famicom games it has the AV Out just like the N64 Super Nintendo and Game Cube it came out the same year as the NES 2 did in 93 they look idententical and i recommend for any NIntendo collector because i hate using clone systems.
I was having trouble with my nes, It wasnt playing any game without blowing into the cartridge so I cleaned my 72 pin connecter with alcohol and a tooth brush and it works like new now.
to clean them wet the end of a cotton swab with water, not to much though. Then rub back and forth on both side of the pins, then dry with another cotton swab, repeat if necisarry.
To get games to play(clean them)
put em in, click em down, power on and wiggle the cart back and forth you will see the title screen eventually, then press reset.
The one problem with the power-on-wiggle technique is if it is a game that saves (like Zelda), it will most likely wipe the memory. For normal games though its a pretty good way to do it.
I just clean my two NES when I bought them and then I clean every new game I buy and it works like new! I never need to use any special method to get a game to work and I almost never need to blow! There are some great cleaning guides here on youtube, I advice that you do that instead.
Ya of course cleaning them is best. These tips were mostly for people that don't clean them. I find that even perfectly clean games need a little coaxing sometimes too though.
It actually wasn't released on NES. R-Type was actually ported to the TurboGrafx-16, Sega Master System, and Game Boy. There was a Super R-Type game on Super NES, but that was a port of R-Type II with an additional 1st stage.
I ordered off of ebay a NES with a new 72 pin connector and 6 games for about 45 bucks after shipping. I am so excited I can't wait until it gets here.
I don't often review games but that would not be a game I would be willing to do, sorry. There are just so many out there already and I try to to put repeat stuff on youtube unless I can really add something, which in this case I do not feel I would do. Sorry.
ahh right thanks alot, i never actually played that game when i was young, the first metroid i played was for gamecube, then i went for fusion and explored the old catalog. Awesome series
Will do. It's a formula that I developed before I even started my vids as what I personally wanted to see in vids. The response has been positive so the formula will not chance. Thanks.
Here's the thing. I made this video a long time ago and probably shouldn't have said I would review games. It's not that I wouldn't like to do it, it is just that I don't have any means of recording game footage, other that just pointing my camera at the TV and I don't want to do that. Until I magically get some sort of recording device I don't think that there will be any game reviews. Sorry, I really would enjoy doing them but I don't have the money to buy equipment.
Ya, I've heard that too but I am reluctanct to try anything that is mostly meant for windows on a game. Also, the largest ingredient in the official NES cleaning kit is rubbing alcohol so it must be good for something. Thanks for the suggestion.
yeah i use windex it doe not damage the game at all it make them work really good also do u know of anyother ac adaptors that work with the nes as my adaptor is caved in on it self and i need a new one
I am not sure. I know that it needs 9V and at least 1.3A and none of my other adaptors seem to fit that. I'm sure that some would "work", but would eventually break your system. You might have to just buy another one online or find an adaptor that fits the needs.Good luck
Hmmm...well I think that you might be able to find an RF to Composite converter at some sort of electronics store. I think another option might be to use a VCR. Most of them have an RF and Composite hook ups in the back and that might work as a kind of converter. I've never tried it though. Good luck.
Sweet, thank you. I think I'm going to go ahead and go to a GoodWill or pawn shop to try and find a tv with rf and av, I've heard the VCR conversion sadly doesn't work on PAL tv's which is what I have.
As for the top loading NES, I have one. On the one hand it doesn't have the third party lock out chip, but on the other it has no composite outputs. Only RF.
Some Sega games, such as After Burner, were released for the NES, but not by Sega. Sega licensed them to Tengen, a division of Atari. Not all Tengen games will work in a Model 1, as Tengen was an unlicensed publisher except for one or two games.
The onlt RF thing is a good point. I'll add that to the video.
Well yes, they were put out by Tengen but they were nevertheless SEGA games. I Think the only two SEGA games on the NES are Shinobi and After Burner. Do you know of any others?
Nope. I think you'd have a pretty bright YT future if you made more videos. If you need more views just make these videos responses to other popular game-related videos. Good stuff.
On another note, do you know any good Sega CD games? Apart from the basics I mean, I understand Sonic CD and that Texas game are pretty essential classics or whatever.
Indeed a good video,Snatcher is a great game aswell as Road Avenger. You should consider trying those out.Snatcher you may have to emulate its really rare.
In all honesty there isnt crazy much good on the SEGA CD as far as I know (but I havent really looked into it yet). I will, of course, give an analysis of the full library when I get around to doing a SEGA CD review so stick around.
Of your games shown, I really liked River City Ransom the best.

For very dirty games, rather than a scouring pad, I would personally suggest Brasso-
watch?v=xEqhgTqvV0Y
watch?v=3t69ZXIgKvU
I use Brasso on my games and experienced the same results as the videos. Of course, it's all a matter of preference and you *do* need to buy a
3/8 mm star bit, but I think it's worth it. One cleaning, and like the guy says in the first video, they don't need to be cleaned for years.

Also, unfortunately I did not do my research and bought a NES Toploader after being sick of the RetroDuo fucking up the great music in Castlevania II,
