"The Crimson Permanent Assurance" segment was filmed as if it were a completely separate project. Terry Gilliam got his own soundstage, crew and cast. This segment continued to expand because, according to Gilliam, nobody told him to stop.

@JoTheSick - REALLY close, but technically not accurate. He was born in America in 1940, obtained dual citizenship in 1968, and renounced American citizenship in 2006 in protest against George Bush.

As punishment, he's only allowed to spend 30 days a year in the US (normally, Brits can spend 90 days with a proper visa). Our loss more than his, I think.
