Actually I am friends with many people who own Pro-Digits and our products do not overlap. We both were invited by the Crown Prince of Denmark for the Index Awards and laughed about how people think that we are competitors. My devices replace missing fingers, but for people who still have their palm intact. Pro-Digits only work for people who have a portion of their palm missing. But thank you for allowing me to clarify for everyone who does not know this; similar to you. : )
In this video an amputee is not wearing the device, but even if the thumb is missing the patient is able to press their hand against the device and flex the thumb. We have more than 500 configurations of devices to accommodate a variety of amputation cases. This video was made after creating my first demo-unit. I simply put it on to show the mechanics. Depending on the length of the remaining thumb flexion, extension and lateral movements can be restored.
Good Job! Until now the only artificial thumbs I have ever seen were made entirely from silicone. You cant lift something with a silicone thumb as they bend too easily. This is great!
Whats the use for this anyway
