  • This reminds me of "Building a BBQ" from I Love Lucy.

  • Does Lucy ever get her contacts back?

  • @GuyverFan95 , this episode is from the third season, which will be out on DVD this coming Tuesday (November 30).

  • Just an FYI, The Lucy Show - The Official Third Season is coming to DVD on November, 30, 2010!

  • @steven1660 good to know I have the first 2 seasons : )

  • Awesome :D

  • this is just like the one in I Love Lucy when they took apart the barbque and put it back together again

  • The Official Second Season of The Lucy Show is being released this summer, July 13, 2010, and its in color! So everyone go out and buy it so that the third season will be released quickly!

  • I remember seeing this episode in the 80s

  • This is a variation on an "I Love Lucy" show where Lucy thinks she has lost her wedding ring and she and Ethel pull apart an entire Bar-B-Que -- at night! -- to try and find it. They've done this bit before, but who cares? As long as it's Lucy and Viv (along with Gale Gordon) you know it's going to be hilarious!

  • That's a good point, the comparison to that "I Love Lucy" episode. I have to say, though, and with all due respect to the great classic "I Love Lucy" is, I think this "Lucy Show" version is funnier. It's probably the fact that Mr. Mooney catches Lucy and Viv in the middle of their mess as opposed to Ricky catching Lucy and Ethel AFTER they've already made their mess, that makes this funnier. Plus, that scene in Mr. Mooney's kitchen is priceless, and there's nothing comparable in the ILL episode.

  • Vivian Vance was great and very underrated. Lucy got all the glory, and Viv was never appreciated enough for her comedic talents in my opinion!

  • @Novatogal Vivian Vance did get some glory she won an Emmy for Ethel Mertz on I Love Lucy in 1953.

  • @Novatogal She won an Emmy for Comedy Supporting Actress in 1953, so they did recognize her. I agree though- without Viv, Lucy would not have gone as far.

  • great video : )

  • The Lucy Show the official first season will be available on July 21st, 2009!

  • The official unedited first season of "The Lucy Show" on DVD has FINALLY been announced. Do a search for LucyScroll, or go to this Youtube link for details: watch?v=4-ySG2nZvGk

  • Yes, but these DVDs will be the official, remastered show released by CBS!

  • It has been annouced that "The Lucy Show" Season One will be released by CBS!!!

In late July/early August (They say preferably late July)

  • this is too funny

  • Classic episode of "The Lucy Show". Do you have the rest of the episode to post?

  • Mr. Mooney was a riot.

  • Ricky and Fred are with Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz on I LOVE LUCY. This is THE LUCY SHOW.

  • This isn't I Love Lucy, it's a completely different show.

  • I'll bet this was taped from Ha! (the predecessor to Comedy Central). We used to have good channels on cable. Now we have 200 channels and nothing on any of them:( Thanks so much for posting since CBS is obviously not interested in ever releasing this fine series on dvd. We should have had Season One back in May.

  • spoken like a true old person

  • omg these clips are so funny, almost as funny as the original lucy shows from the 50s. i would love to see entire episodes, if The Lucy Show comes out on DVD i will defenetly buy it!!!

  • This episode contains a line I have giggled over for years: eventually Lucy smooshes Viv into the cake. "It's all my fault," Viv says in her best butter-won't-melt-in-my-mouth style, "that my face is on the front of my head." And how about her understated style of cleaning her nails when she said that she is going out to pasture. And watch how Gale Gordon builds carefully to "get your STINKY FINGERS .. "

  • So funny, keep the clips coming! I hope The Lucy Show Comes out on dvd soon!

  • Oh my God Lucy goes through so much trouble just to find something--just like in the Barbecue episode in I Love Lucy when she and Ethel took apart the whole barbecue trying to find Lucy's wedding ring!

  • She was trained to do those kinda things! Tearing things up, and putting them back together again.
